THIS WAS THE BEST EXPLANATION FOR EDITING IVE SEEN IN A LOOOONG TIME. My man, you got phenomenal teaching skills, I’ll definitely follow and also this makes learning fusion and editing so much fun. God bless🙏
the way i look at plugins is this: do coders recreate every language before they code? no, they build off of what others have done in order to PROGRESS the art of coding and make it a feasible solution. without it, no one would ever get anything done. its not like someone cant make whatever is already in the plugin, but its a tool that exists to help and to not use it is just being stubborn and holds you back.
That’s actually such a good way at looking at it, ur right I kinda just looked at it at cheating, but that’d be like I have to recreate every part of my computer from scratch and recode davinci before I can use it, but you are so right, thank you
@21stcenturyscots Thank you for the appreciation! 🙏🙏 I do not know how to use davinci yet that time I just tried to create random content that might help and post them. I just use capcut.. 😅
Bro COME ON!!!!!!!!!!! u are the best video editting professor i have ever seen, u explain in a language that my little brain can understand perfectly. I was really scared about that damn fusion, but now, i've lost all fear, thanks fr
i knew 4 steps but fifth step was kinda life changing for me thank you man and also i used to make same effects again and again but thanks to you now ik that davinci has presets wowwwww. i feel kinda dumb but thank you for this video i learned a lot... respect ++
Very clean video. I appreciate you going step by step ive been trying to learn how to animate to possibly make an animation channel & not very many "popular" animators go through how they make their videos. Not the creative process i mean but how to make the video itself.
I moved from a older version of Filmora to DaVinci since Filmora wasn't providing enough tools to do the edits I wanted to do. Your videos are genuinely the best I've found at explaining a variety of the functions for people new to it. Your pacing is great, you share shortcuts, and you provide extensions other people have made for people to be aware of. I'm going to be working on a challenge video explaining how I completed said challenge, so I wanted to have the information of enemies and such from the wiki (plus sprites) show up on my B roll while explaining. I noticed the keyframes were very linear and did know about smoothing transitions but it slipped my mind I could do that on other animations. Fortunately I remembered how informative and straight-forward your videos were and found this just as I needed it lol. Thanks for helping all of us improve mate
Just gotta say, great presentation. Been using resolve for years now and never learned how to create a macro, or knew that I could lock my height while moving my keyframe on the spline curve. Good stuff🎉
Thank you for helping me make sense of the Fusion page. I've been using it with other tutorials to add things into my videos, I just never really understood what exactly I was doing.
Awesome video, wish I found this eariler in my career, unfortunately didn't learn anything I didn't already known but for beginners this video with exponentially increase their skills and knowledge so top tier content. Keep up the amazing work
I think this video has helped me the most EVER in my whole entire life in davinci resolve, I just tasted the another side of davinci resolve Subscribed So good
Great video! I think it would be advantageous to put the transform node between the mediaIn1 and the merge node. This way anything before the merge node (in this case the background node) will not be affected (animated) and potentially cause problems. It is only the image of the shark you want to animate. Keep up the good work! 🙏
Thank you for the tutorial, Im glad you dove into the fusion tab because one of the reasons I bought davinici was so to learn the fusion tab so I could work faster and be more creative. Yet it feels like so many tutorials steer clear of it
If you are looking to learn Fusion, check out Casey Faris. He has a ton of tutorials for all levels of Fusion folks. Because of him, I have the confidence to jump into Fusion all the time. Good luck with your learning and edits. 😃
Worth noting, you say that Fusion is outright 'better' than AE which I think is just untrue. I know it's said in jest but for people deciding to learn either of these programs you should know that it comes down to preference and application. I'm just switching over to Resolve and excited about a lot of the features, especially for compositing, however, in the time it took to watch this video I could have created a far more detailed and interesting vector-based animation of your character using shapes and other features in AE. I don't think it would be impossible to do the same in Fusion but it would take far longer and be less intuitive. Given that, there's probably also other applications that are either free/one time payment that would be better than both Fusion & AE for that specific workflow (detailed 2D, vector-based animations). Excited to see what's possible with Fusion but not sure if 'It's better because it has cool interface' is the right mentality. PS: fk adobe regardless lol
Welcome to team DaVinci! While I was definitely doing the jokes and this video is a bit more introductory in nature, I think the Fusion page might pleasantly surprise you the more you dive into it. Fusion was a standalone software, like AE, before being integrated into the Resolve ecosystem, so while it is behind in a couple areas, it's not by much. Learning Fusion tends to be more of "where does this button live" and not so much "is it possible". Once you figure out where to find everything, I can confidently say, in my very biased opinion lol, that the node system is more intuitive and faster than layers, and I hope you end up feeling the same way after a bit!
I was searching for a program that could help me to evolve and bring me closer to animation. Thanks to your tutorial, I feel very confident about it. I never worked with Fusion before, but I definitely will now :) (I just want to leave AE and Pr😅 TYSM for this.
17:55 Actually u can, all u need to customize this grid is press RMB on ur fusion screen, then in the menu find "guides" - "frame aspect". Obviously u cant customize this grid all the way u want, there are only few types of grid which u can choose, but at least u can do that.
Particular styles of animation normally follow the same principles as any other, you just apply it for your use case. So if you like the way Isaac is animating something, take one of their sections and try to pick out how each element is moving on screen. If you isolate individual pieces, you can normally begin to figure out which nodes/effects are being used and how they're using em. It takes a bit of practice, but it's a good way to reverse engineer animations.
@@itstheWampus wow didn't expect that you know my channel! Appreciate it a lot man! btw your comedic timings and outfits in this one is just chefs kiss
We want the transforms to see and have access to the full canvas. If you apply them before the merge, you'll be limited by the size of your image and things will get cropped as you begin to move them. It's normally a good habit to merge most images on top of a blank background in fusion to avoid the cropping problem
Yup yup! There's a couple ways to do that. You can either open up the spline menu, hold down the "Shift" key and slide your keyframes left and right orrrrrrrrrrr there is actually a keyframe menu you can use to shift the position of everything.
damn, you are refreshing.🤣 Your way of presenting the whole topic is really cool and kinda "unseen"🙂👌👍 Keep on doing this stuff like you are doing it! i push that subrscribe button.
What I would love to learn is how to make those 3d animations you did in the intro with the DaVinci resolve logo and the 5 diamonds. I would love if you could make a video about this
wellllllllllllllllllllll, you might be in luck. I have a 2nd channel where I do more specific tutorials. The first video over there covers just that. ua-cam.com/video/25SXKb-ThGM/v-deo.html
THIS VIDEO IS PEAK FICTION, absolutly AMAZING, now I can stop making my videos look like my 14 year old videos, not bad but aint the kind of videos that get more than 10k views lol
I'm stuck 1. my png doesn't fit insider the frame. 2. When I click on spline the options for transform/center path/ and displacement do not appear for me. Working in Davinci Resolve 18 right now
God damn im so tired with people telling HERES THE BEST WAY TO GET VIEWS WITH YOUR VIDEO EDITING while providing no tutorial just yapping throughout the whole video of the things we already know (But wanted the way to do it like this vid)
I love your videos very helpful. I have a request. I like to edit to the beat of Music but struggle when needing to use the spline tool to edit on beat. Help please 🙏. I hope this made sense?

I have been using fusion for almost a year already this is the first time I learned about saving macro. Thank you so much! This so helpful. 🙏
You already showed great results. I enjoy your video how to oil your electric fan.

Very, very useful. Thank you Wampus. I might use this in the next video on my channel.
I like the way you explain everything. It's really enjoyable and easy to understand. Thanks for the video!
This is the most concise tutorial video I have ever watched! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing explanation and amazing video. Gonna recommend this to my viewers!
The simplicity of your explanations earned you a sub!🔥🔥🔥

Great tutorial for Fusion bravery. 🤣 Came in very handy for what I needed to accomplish
thanks man was struggling with managing alot of nodes the last tip about the macro will save me hours 💚
Really though, this prolly the best most comprehensive tutorial about animation I’ve seen, and I watch a lot of UA-cam
