Nothing vengeful in his response. He truly is a ego-less man. On stage hes opinionated and totally destructive. Off, he is a nice guy who just wants a couple drinks and some quiet convo. Truly a beast of comedy and a really nice guy.

Like I said, all of these interviews of him saying these things are in recent years. He used to be EXTREMELY passionate about politics.
Love the 7:20 part about Charlie Sheen, there's a british comic called Richard Herring who goes off on a similar tangent about graphically describing your sex life in unnecessary detail so people just say yuck and don't want to know about it. He's well worth checking out if you like Stanhope's blend of intelligence and vulgarity.
I spoke with Stanhope after a show in my town. After a few drinks I asked him about it, all he said was something along the lines of, "He has a similiar bit... Im friends with him"

yeah that Jeffries bit is probably a tweaked version of Doug's joke now that I think about it.
I'd assumed they were friends. Then what seems like an insult becomes a bit of banter. People are just looking for interesting conflicts where there are none. And if you spend your time arguing over which funny guy stole which gag from which other funny guy, you need to drink more and maybe need to watch that 5:37 segment over again and see irony in this comment section.

Lifted from Doug or not, Jim is still such a sharp comic that he gets a pass on the egg thing. I'm inclined to believe it wasn't because both definitely have shoved shit up there, coked out of their minds while touring shit gigs at some point in their lives, no doubt about that.

James Kelly i don't know, man. he's always saying he hates music because it's disruptive and obnoxious, and ween can get pretty abrasive. also, i recall a joe rogan podcast where his producer mentioned loving ween and doug had no input. could be an act, though, i suppose.

Stanhope is my favorite working comic, but you gotta be some kind of crazy drunk to be wearing a Lions jersey if you weren't born and raised in Detroit, or maybe your immediate family comes from there. I've literally never seen a Lions fan outside of Michigan except Michigan transplants. It's like being a fan of a shitty fast food restaurant that always gets your order wrong by choice.

Stealing his stuff. It's kind of true. I mean, if you look at when Jeffries specials or albums are released, and the content he has on it. It always seems to reflect Stanhope's views that he had on HIS most previous special. Different delivery, but very similar punchlines and opinions.

Heh, I know. Doug is my favorite comedian, perhaps equal with Carlin, but I agree. I see where you're coming from, and get how you came to that conclusion, but it's so, so fucking daft.
I love Doug Stanhope as a comedian, but I can't fucking stand him as a person, for that reason. But to take his cynicism and run with it insinuating he's connected to some ominous and silly group of people is absurd.

How many of the 10 "9/11 commissioners" have come forward changing their story completely? How does a 47 storie building built w/81 columns of high grade industrial strength steel collapse oh-so-perfectly at free fall speed w/out ANY of the 81 columns (on all 47 floors!) getting in the way? What did Rum$feld finally admit to on 9/10/01? What locked file$ were inside wtc7? (EnRon, WorldCom, CA energy commission, the missing 2.3 Trillion $ from d.o.defense, etc). On what date was Russia allowed to account for their $,gold,IOU's from deals made w/the fall of the Soviet Union? How many lie detector tests were given to the celebrating/video taping/dancing Israeli's? (More important- how many did they pass?) Why are many of the largest steel columns of the 3 skyscrapers cut on a diagonal slant with once molten residue hardened along the edge? Where did George Bu$h jr. say he was when the 1st plane hit? Why so many explosions in the basements? How many news ch's reported WTC7 'collapsed' (1hr, 30min, 20 min's, 10 min's) before it collapsed (hint, not just bbc). What did the German company 'Convar' find in the computer ruble? What are 'stock-puts' / put options? What of the dump-truck of Gold found? Family members of the dead were given approx' 1.8 million $.... what did they have to sign before receiving it? Why the gag-order(s) on most firemen & police involved? Why were the 1st responders not invited to the 10 year anniversary? What did Bill Cooper say? What did Barry Jennings say? Who was Beverly Eckert? What part of Willy Rodriguez's interview was edited by ABC? What nyc building-would be the tallest building in 33 states-fell down flat and was not even mentioned in the entire 9/11 commissioners report? Who was in charge (pyramid/chain of command) of Security at JFK and Dulles airports? 100 tons of Asian Gold (China owned) stored at wtc was due to be sent back on what day? NORAD was told to do NOTHING "because there may be some confusion" ~? Who makes thermate? What did Norm Mineta (Secretary of Transportation) testify to on being in the bunker with dick cheney? (He and the others telling the truth had nothing to gain and everything to lose). The magic passport story......really!? Please look into these things for yourself. p.s. i am not suicidal and my car was just checked out.
