you are confusing freeform with neglect. freeform simply means that the locs in the towel rub divide themselves based on the natural formation of strands. washing and doing nothing else is neglect.

Neglect is not doing anything at all, true freeform is washing and not touching, maybe using your palm, and fake/semi freeforms are using towel rub or sponge rub. It's in the name
