I really appreciate this video. Have had my locs for 19 years and teansitio ed to free form locs 4 years ago. Used to use tea tree shampoo non residue shampoo for many years. Switched to raw african black soap this year and absolutely love it. The only oil I use when I use oil in my hair is Jamaican Black Castor Oil. And it's like you said. It is truly all that I need. With free form locs, I feel that less is more. I have always had thin natural eye brows. Will try putting the oil on them. Thanks for the late tip and for this video. Peace and blessings from Delaware.
Just found your page i been growing my free forms for 3 years they look good but yours look GREAT😍 going to watch most your videos and try your methods!
@@AmberLoryn , Thank you Amber. I am also 3 years and feel so encourage by your timing of 3 years. I learned through trial and error to leave my Locs to thrive with simplicity maintainece . I am sold on keeping locs moisture not soaked with water but a balance of both oil and fav water, I am not as addicted on product like I was when my hair was loose. I think at some point I may clip the ends to keep the locs stylish and growing in healthy.
New subbie. You are so pretty. Your hair is so thick and full. Your locs are beautiful. I'm 5 mths braid loc'd. My first time hearing someone say that they wash their hair with black soap or any soap. I personally still use shampoo and conditioner. I probably shouldn't be doing that. 😂🤣. Very informative video!! ❤🙏🏻
I had a taper and 9 month old freeform locs just cut the locs off to the length of the taper now and starting fresh cause ik ion need oil and bs that builds up in my hair
what’s ur views on leave in conditioners cuz i feel like i have really dry hair and i don’t like putting cream products but it helps give me moisture that oiling doesn’t on its own. also i have bleached and colored treated hair so that has caused me to have extra dryness
I personally wash my hair once a month. If your hair gets dirty faster then you can do every 2 weeks. Rinsing a few times a week without soap is good for lowering the amount of dirt in your hair in between washes too.
New sub! I would like to try the black castor oil on my scalp to thicken certain area of my locs. I'd like to know if this product leaves any build up? Good content!
I currently live in the U.K. and finding a loctician, where I live is like finding a needle in a haystack. I want to start semi-free form locs, and I'm starting on short 4b, thin hair. I two strand twisted as a trial run and found I can get 60 locs, not too big or small. What products do I use to start my loc's and how often do I wash and re-twist? Thank you.
You should check out my freefrom loc full guide! I explain my entire process from the beginning and how I maintain. I’ve never retwisted so my maintenance will be slightly different than yours, though.
Thank you for posting this video!! I recently started freeform locs and I have some thinning, so your suggestions are appreciated. How do you get combat frizz? Does the soap or oil help with it?
never had a retwist. most of my locs are the combination of 2-5 locs. the combining happened a lot in the first couple of years. they compacted so much that they began to look like regular locs, but they are flat. over the last few months (mid 2023), they started combining again, so now i have groups of 2-4 locs combined at the root. they will eventually combine all the way and be even thicker :)
I love black soap it cleared my face from dark spots and it doesn’t give that stripped feeling when I wash my hair 10/10
My goodness you are breathtaking 😫

Hello! Just found your channel. I'm 8 months today and haven't retwisted in 4 wks. I'm not going to retwist thanks for sharing🥰....subbed
Beautiful locs
Great. Here are the Loc Commandments I go by 👑⭐⭐⭐
I had a taper and 9 month old freeform locs just cut the locs off to the length of the taper now and starting fresh cause ik ion need oil and bs that builds up in my hair
Does black soap rinse out easier with hot water? I wash with cold but with black soap I’m thinking was with hot water and rinse with cold.

THAT'S NICE, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE EVERYBODY IS DOING THEIR OWN THING❤❤
Just black soap or african black soap?
I'm a man but i want my locs to look like yours 😮💨
dope!!!!
How often should I actually wash my hair w/ the black soap if I have mature locs

That stuff had my scalp so sore and itchy

thank you! black castor oil is very thick so i recommend using a small amount infrequently. it lasts a long time 😉
I love you and your locs video 📹 okkk
Im 7 months in and im not gonna retwist again.
Love to hear it!

@@AmberLoryn Thanks, I shall.

awesome 😁 thank you!

you’re welcome! glad it’s helpful. i don’t have issues with frizz, but that might be because of my hair texture. light oil may help!
@@AmberLoryn thank you!! ♥
@@Truthseeker-24my hair is naturally frizzy. For me I embrace the frizz 😊
how so you took out your dandruff? and how you mosturize your scalp?
When I don’t use products with chemicals I don’t get dandruff. And I use the oil mentioned in the video to moisturize ;)
By any chance did you get a retwist because mostly when I see Freeform dreads they look bad and mashed together
never had a retwist. most of my locs are the combination of 2-5 locs. the combining happened a lot in the first couple of years. they compacted so much that they began to look like regular locs, but they are flat. over the last few months (mid 2023), they started combining again, so now i have groups of 2-4 locs combined at the root. they will eventually combine all the way and be even thicker :)
Do you use a lot of oil
Fresh upload.
🙏🏽
I love black women with dreadlocks
Is your hair naturally brown like this or did it change?
it’s my natural hair color. it gets lighter every year from being in the ocean and in the sun
How does it grow longer without retwist
Twisting doesn't make hair grow. Water and nutrients do. Hope this helps ❤️
Keep it simple like our ancestors did 🙏🏾
How many times a week do you put the castor oil in your hair?
I apply it right after I wash sometimes. I personally don’t like too much oil to sit in my hair, so not often
cool water and clay all the way baby.
Let me guess ..
Black soap and water??
Close but not quite 😭
@@AmberLoryn dammit
Do you lose your hair?
Just normal shedding
🔥🔥🔥🔥
🥂 Hilarious, I have that exact brand beside me rn. Heading to try this black soap✌🏻🧝🏻♀️

She’s so beautiful. I will marry her with no problem.
