    Awesome exterior/ICF build - any chance you have a video of the interior after it was finished? Got a rough SF/price for the build?

      All of the construction videos are in this play list: ua-cam.com/play/PLSgS2JF2ZbKxgpWKNVrGgoyZStHyYmJ-p.html. I don't have the costs broken out. They wouldn't be of much help, anyway. This was all done about 8 years ago. The costs have changed a lot and did most of the work myself.

    Can you use the same concept to make a floor above a crawl space with poured piers underneath and have you water sewer come in through crawl space

    So im looking to rebuild after a fire. I have been in the trades 30+ years, from carpentry, installing, steel roofing. I want to have a flat roof/ patio on my new house. Basic dimensions of said building 40' x 40'. There will be a partition wall down the center, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc on one side while the other 20' x 40' section open kitchen living room. So from my experience, concrete is not waterproof on its own, but i want to know how I can use this product to achieve a waterproof roof/ patio..a nice 40' x 40' patio atop my house

    Great video. How did you manage water drainage on the roof?

      Slight slope and sealed with 50 year silicone, but there are actually some better, modern sealants.

    How are you covering the concrete roof? Did you pour the concrete with a slope to drain water?

    • @lanceknoechel8945
      @lanceknoechel8945  3 роки тому +3

      Yes, the roof has a slight slope. It is sealed. I don't recall the sealant brand, but don't skimp. You get what you pay for.

    Is this the lite deck system or quad deck ? Im looking at building an ICF house and would like a strong low sloped roof for a living roof , Do you have a general idea of the material costs per sq ft for this system including concrete and rebar? Thanks, looks solid.

      Quad deck. I built this 8 years ago. Have no idea what the current costs would be.

    Nice. You should have showed you bracing in detail. People need to see that

    I had a question... How is this compared to precast hollow core slabs.. in terms of strength ? is there something called pretension on this method? also what psi do you use for a commercial application?

    • @lanceknoechel8945
      @lanceknoechel8945  3 роки тому +2

      I've never used precast. The ICF's I used can span about 24' with 3k psi (I used 5k for good measure). No pretension required.

      @@lanceknoechel8945 thanks.. was this a terrance if so what waterbarrier did you use after the pour.. would you have the sequence.. and material went on top of this if it was a terrace

      @@shenoyglobal This was the roof of my earth-bermed home. Used 50 year roll-on silicone to seal it. There may actually be better sealants, but that's what I used.

    Man I love your content. But can you speak up a little bit, don't whisper! Some of us are hard of hearing and these little video speakers aren't very loud, so bring your audio up please! Thank you so much.
