The distance from edge of concrete to edge of reinforcing steel should be at least 40-mm. The allows any penetrating moisture to increase in pH, to a high enough level that red, flakey rust can’t form, and any corrosion is a black oxide which is chemically stable, and doesn’t expand.

You get very clean cuts of the poly foam using an electric carving knife. Festool, also makes foam blades for T-shank jigsaws.

Yup this is what I'm using!!
No standing seam. Cut back the full block to allow your cut block to have a minimum of two connections and you can avoid all those wood patches.
