Love it!!! till the part it becomes extremely dangerous!!!!!! ... Example jumping on every step and splitting (splitting wide both legs on every step)... Anything can go wrong. Sorry some people like me may not encourage such dance and music and professional games (by anyone around the world). Yes certain moves can be beautiful and a bit extra for a common person but not totally dangerous! I have given a thumbs down and the same applies to all the videos where I come across dangerous moves.... Which may make a person crippled if something slightly goes wrong.... Example what if there was a bit of sweat on the steps? Many people got paralyzed in bar gymnastics, car race (died), injured in complex group cheerleading moves like climbing on top of each other at great heights, etc. My most humble opinion is that let us encourage and support artists but not (life threatening) risk takers just to entertain us or for awards/medals ..
they were awesome... my mother showed me the old films of them when I was little & many more... nobody still can't touch the Nicholas brothers. even though they gone, I still love them
Cab Calloway and one of the coldest dance team of that time the Nicholas Brothers. The shorter one years and years later played in the movie The Five Heartbeats as the choreographer for the group. What can be said about our people?? Gifted, Talented, Beautiful!!! Fantastic!!!
You definitely didnt lie. I appreciate the enlightment and I must admit that these brothers are superb and definitely add extra flavor with the use of props, canes, etc. The travesty is that most people and kids today know little to nothing about both the Berry & Nicholas brother. They definitely had a fast food free diet. Lol
GOLDEN BABY 360 I told you homie the Nicholas brothers were great but not like the berry brothers. You know at the cotton club they actually had a dance contest to see who was the best. I read the berry brothers just ran over the Nicholas brothers. But these idiots never filmed the contest. But I read that people who saw it were talking about the berry brothers years after they ran over the Nicholas brothers. Now check out the berry brothers doing fascinating rhythm. Can you imagine how hard it is to do 2 routines at the same time? A cane routine and dance routine at the same time. All together and not missing a beat. No teacher could ever teach that. A cane and dance routine at the same time. The berry brothers were the greatest dancers ever born on planet earth. Me I think the berry brothers come from Mars. 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃 now check out the berry brothers doing fascinating rhythm and sit down before you faint down.
GOLDEN BABY 360 I am in my 60s and I just learned about the berry brothers talking to someone here on UA-cam. I never heard of the berry brothers but now I am in love with them. It's a dam shame how the Whiteman has hidden black history from black people. When you talk about dancers the berry brothers should be right on the TOP OF THE LIST ABSOLUTELY.
My daughter just did a school project on them and that's why I'm here. All I can say is...wow this was amazing and they did it all without breaking a sweat and a smile on their face!
The jumping around tap dancing was amazing. The splits and jump splitting was unbelievable. But the getting up from the split was surreal. 😂 how in the world did they do that??
I've heard a lot about the Nicholas brothers but this is my first time seeing them perform. Their skills are insane. Nothing but perfection in their dancing.
For the 284 dislikes. You people need to open your eyes! That's pure talent! They was, are, and is a wonderful team to watch! Now till a 100 years from now! You're only mad because you don't have it. But that's ok. God blessed them and they shared their talent with the world. And nothing will ever change that. I would really love to see the movie they acted in.
1:16 is the PERFECT POSE. I saw them dancing on a commerical on TCM and when I saw this one second I HAD to see the full dance. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
This is the most amazing dance performance e ever seen in my 65 years, I have watched this footage over and over about 20 times and each time I'm still amazed just like the first. I feel the mole was definitely broken with this dance performed by the two most fabulous dancers ever. Graceful, and elegant, just watch their hands , this is the real drop the mic moment
The Nicholas brothers, who until today I've never seen, and I wonder why? They're simply OUT-STANDING, with their sheer brilliance, and jaw- dropping, inspired choreography, musicalicality, and out of this world technique with tap dance, almost balletic. A masterpiece of their genius, and what a legacy they've left behind. Thank you Nicholas brothers, blessings from a new fan, in London.
Catherine Blair A huge influence on James Brown who would have seen them at the height of their powers. Check out JB's dance moves on "Night Train" at the 1964 TAMI show.
+Catherine Blair You never heard of them because they probably retired from dancing before you were born. If I remember correctly, one of them died in 2000 and the other died in 2006. They were brilliant dancers and appeared in many films, but most of those films were targeted at a black audience. That might be why their fame wasn't as widespread as Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire. If you get a chance, watch The Big Broadcast of 1936. Not only does it feature the talents of the Nicholas Brothers at a very young age (they can sing and play musical instruments, as well as dance) but it features a star studded cast.
It's true her life took a terrible terrible tragedy, they had a child that was severely disabled she outlived her mother and her father, I think she was in her late seventies when she passed away (the daughter). The marriage was not a good one, since Dorothy suffered abuse as a child. I hope you can find the DVD of called the Dorothy Dandridge story and Halle Berry portrayed her the movie. It is over probably almost 20 years old now I think and it's a brilliant performance... and just horribly sad life...
My inner thighs hurt. Absolute magic on feet. The degree of athleticism and fitness required to accomplish that routine boggles the mind, and they made it look effortless. None better than these two -- NONE!
All that is true but that's only part of the picture. The other part is an intellect that connects the mind and the spirit of creativity with the body. That in itself is another type of genius that many fail to appreciate or even notice. What you saw not only takes great physical talent but a mind to imagine it and make it happen and connect it all.
I love I Love it! I remember watching stormy weather with my mother and great grandmother when i was about six, and was inspired beyond belief! LOVE IT!!!!

This always renders me speechless and I grew up tapping! Nothing can reach these two and no dancers can even come close. An amazing exhibition of talent! Thanks for sharing!
I will go to my grave not seeing a better tap dancing performance than this. It is the most exceptional piece of dancing ever. Poise, elegance, athleticism, artistry and skill. Oooh weee..when you had to WORK!! OMG I hurt just watching this 🤕
I have NEVER SEEN ANYTHING like this everrrrrrrrr. They are flying...jumping so high from a standing position. 😳🤯 They did splits down the slide?? THE SLIIIDE??? HOW???????
If I had trained for a thousand years, I could never do that.
Wow.
If you'd trained for a thousand years, you'd probably be a little too old to try it.
If ever there was a video that deserved ZERO thumbs down, this might be it.
Love it!!! till the part it becomes extremely dangerous!!!!!!
You are so right.

they were awesome... my mother showed me the old films of them when I was little & many more... nobody still can't touch the Nicholas brothers. even though they gone, I still love them
Well I’m a little speechless at the moment. But when I find the right words to describe this awesomeness, I’ll get back to ya 💕💕💕.
So where those words at?
The greatest dance scene of all time.
Just amazing. Graceful, agile and incredibly coordinated. Classy stuff.
Cab Calloway and one of the coldest dance team of that time the Nicholas Brothers. The shorter one years and years later played in the movie The Five Heartbeats as the choreographer for the group. What can be said about our people?? Gifted, Talented, Beautiful!!! Fantastic!!!
THIS IS REAL DANCING, ACTING & TV SHOWS. TALENT from beginning till the The End!!!!!
( I'm miss those days & times of REAL production)
Again, the greatest tap dancers Ever!!!
No one can ever make their taps shoes sing like the Nicholas Brothers! They were beyond incredible!
Damn, y'all, can the bothers Nicholas get the respect they deserve, the very best ever, just check the clips.
😩Ahhhh the days whn talent was real.
Damn I wish there were still performers like this...amazing
Perfection redefined. Limits of what is possible pushed.
Probably the best dancers ever lived.
When you needed talent to be famous. Absolutely amazing
I've never seen anyone do or try this dance sequence since. Once in a lifetime
These guys were the BEST!!
The greatest that ever lived. Long live the Nicholas Brothers
I’m literally crying after this 😭😭 just pure talent and happiness in what they are doing
Wow, just stumbled upon this video and how amazing! Thanks for sharing
We have such beautiful history
We absolutely DO
Lol
So beautiful to see the roaring twenties ESPECIALLY THE NICOLAS BROTHERS 😭😍
My daughter just did a school project on them and that's why I'm here. All I can say is...wow this was amazing and they did it all without breaking a sweat and a smile on their face!
I can watch this all day, everyday.
The jumping around tap dancing was amazing. The splits and jump splitting was unbelievable. But the getting up from the split was surreal. 😂 how in the world did they do that??
Never seen anything like that in my fucking life. Matter of fact, I've never even HEARD of anything like that in my fucking life.
stop showing your ignorance. WATCH YOUR IGNORANT MOUTH.
I've heard a lot about the Nicholas brothers but this is my first time seeing them perform. Their skills are insane. Nothing but perfection in their dancing.
My wife says, boy can these men dance ! Fabulous !
Brilliant - even to this day no one can beat these brothers!!!!
Eyvet Francis RIGHT!!!
Wicked. Best ever.👍
Eyvet Francis The little step brothers are pretty decent.Check them out.
The best ever & forever .
245 thumbs down?? Shocking! Like Mike Porter replied,"nobody on the planet can top this!!"
They were the absolute best I never seen tap dances better since. Never even seen any tap dancers come close.
1:16 is the PERFECT POSE. I saw them dancing on a commerical on TCM and when I saw this one second I HAD to see the full dance. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
Sometimes I love what UA-cam recommend
This is the most amazing dance performance e ever seen in my 65 years, I have watched this footage over and over about 20 times and each time I'm still amazed just like the first. I feel the mole was definitely broken with this dance performed by the two most fabulous dancers ever. Graceful, and elegant, just watch their hands , this is the real drop the mic moment
BRO!!!! 😲. This is INSANE! 🔥🔥🔥
Wowwww😱
The Nicholas brothers, who until today I've never seen, and I wonder why? They're simply OUT-STANDING, with their sheer brilliance, and jaw- dropping, inspired choreography, musicalicality, and out of this world technique with tap dance, almost balletic. A masterpiece of their genius, and what a legacy they've left behind. Thank you Nicholas brothers, blessings from a new fan, in London.
Great!!
Richard Brinker SHOCKING isn't it?!! Peace and Blessings.
Catherine Blair Couldn't have said it better. They were brilliant! I have been sharing this with family and friends. Thank God for social media!
Catherine Blair A huge influence on James Brown who would have seen them
at the height of their powers.
I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen.
This is absolutely amazing, nothing today can hold a candle to this type of dance sequence! Wow! 🙌🏾
Harold, half of one of the GOAT dance acts, was also married to Dorothy Dandridge. Pretty good life!!
Unfortunately not for her...🙁
It's true her life took a terrible terrible tragedy, they had a child that was severely disabled she outlived her mother and her father, I think she was in her late seventies when she passed away (the daughter).
Incredible dancing, but we can't forget how amazing Cab Calloway's pipes were...just listen to that scatting at the beginning...
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 The greatest ever ever do it I wish the great Hines brother's could've have brought their story to life
It hurts just watching those splits down the stairs! Ouch! But AMAZING!
LOVE tap and the Nicholas Brothers!
My inner thighs hurt. Absolute magic on feet. The degree of athleticism and fitness required to accomplish that routine boggles the mind, and they made it look effortless. None better than these two -- NONE!
Absolutely the BEST all-around old school classic tap dancers (Athleticism, Skill, Technique, Shownanship, Choreography) 👞
All that is true but that's only part of the picture. The other part is an intellect that connects the mind and the spirit of creativity with the body. That in itself is another type of genius that many fail to appreciate or even notice. What you saw not only takes great physical talent but a mind to imagine it and make it happen and connect it all.
I don't know what their legs are made of but certainly nothing on this Earth! Seriously amazing!
THEY GOT BETTER LEGS THAN MICHAEL JORDAN!
THAT was a work of art no different than a Picasso or a Rembrandt!
The stairs splits!!! And this looks like it was filmed in one take!! AMAZING!
I love I Love it!
I remember watching stormy weather with my mother and great grandmother when i was about six, and was inspired beyond belief! LOVE IT!!!!
What had happened Hollywood? When much was expected, and boy was it delivered. The want, desire, effort, class! If only all were always treated equal, too. Imagine that world! ☆
What happened to Hollywood?
Animated bloody explosions,that's what happened...
Incredible! Those splits though 😳
This always renders me speechless and I grew up tapping! Nothing can reach these two and no dancers can even come close. An amazing exhibition of talent! Thanks for sharing!
Breathtakingly Amazing
What Legendary Icons They Truly Are
This is wonderful. Beautiful dancing. Too bad people don't dance they way they did back then.
Truly wonderful. My Dad used to rave about them...didn't believe a word of it until I saw them...WOW...
I will go to my grave not seeing a better tap dancing performance than this.
It is the most exceptional piece of dancing ever. Poise, elegance, athleticism, artistry and skill.
And yet they don't enjoy the same recognition as Fraed Astire and Gene Kelly.
I would argue that these guys were equal to them if not better than them..
The Nicholas brothers greatest tap dancers of all time .
Astaire himself said this was the greatest dance sequence he ever saw. He recognized their greatness, even if the industry at large didn't.
Fayard and Harold. Sheer brilliance !
man, im tired just looking at these guys. hell of a performance i tell ya !!!
There are some people to whom gravity doesn't apply.
Agreed
LOL
I've seen that routine over 100 times and it takes my breath away each time
Without a doubt the best dancers in the world. Fred Astaire was great Gene Kelly was magnificent but the Nicholas Brothers are other worldly tremendous and talented beyond measure!
Just freeking AWESOME. Now that's how you dance. No thinking you can dance, just natural ability and rhythm.
I LOVE. BEING BLACK!!!!!!!!!
WE are the SALT OF EVERYTHING.
THA NICHOLAS BROTHERS👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤
This is just so life afirming.....beautiful , just beautiful ! The energy , the grace , the shear joy of it ! Thank you.
Exceptionnels danseurs!! Je suis époustouflée par tant de grâce et de classe. Merci pour ce partage
