As for your question at the end, any of the topics you listed would be ok with me especially something like business development. I'd really like to be less dependent on an employer or maybe even completely independent. Just make sure to include some Ukrainian words occasionally.

In English I like sticky buns which Google translates as липкі булочки. But yes, many words for many foods.

What if it’s not Ukrainian scenery? I live in US so won’t be able to film any Ukrainian nature. I can also use Ukrainian footage as a video for audio lessons 🤔
@@mariyaukrainian Thats fine , I live in USA too. Any outdoor scenery will be better than a video of you in a white room. Maybe do a nature video with new words like mountains, stream ,trees ,birds,ect.

Good video, but you should've mentioned that варення generally does not refer to the regular Western European/American jam (which is made by cooking minced fruit with sugar). Instead, it refers to the traditional Slavic whole-fruit jam, made out of whole fruits or big pieces of fruits and sugar. Whole-fruit jam can have different consistency depending on what fruit it is made out of, but often it is more like fruits in syrup rather than like the regular jam.
Another local variety of jam that is cooked on low fire for a long time and results in a thick paste is called повидло.
When talking about the regular jam, the word джем is used (and clearly, it is a borrowing from English).
Thanks for this addition! Interestingly, in my family (though we spoke predominantly Russian), we would rarely use джем or повидло to refer to anything jam-like. Повидло would be reserved for булочки. I wonder if it’s specific to my family then…
@@mariyaukrainian Interesting. In my hometown Hostomel, we always called the foreign jam found in supermarkets джем, while the homemade and locally-produced varieties were always called варення or повидло (depending on how they were cooked).
Hi there I just found your channel. I was born in the UK and my parents were from Ukraine and Poland. I don't know much Ukranian but when I visited many years ago I found that I could converse more easily with the older folk because they spoke the way my father did; the words were softer sounding. When I listen to Ukrainian on TV I can barely understand a word, it sounds like Russian having stronger harsher sounds. Do you think modern Ukranian has been changed by the dominance of Russia for so long? Perhaps your grandparents might be the ones to ask. My father left Ukraine in 1940,s.

Btw When i was a small kid it was strange why every British celebrety or Royal was called Sir, because why would you call a guy "cheese" only later did i get how Slavic "Syr/Sir" is different than English Sir 😅
Your content is interesting so just continue to do things as you like, language does not exclude various content, you can show a recipe for some food or talk about natural sights while still teaching people Ukranian, When you want to show the world your culture just be free and do diversity.
Besides in this weird times some positiv stuff is needed :)
