  • Let's continue to expand our Ukrainian vocabulary. In this video, we will learn how to refer to 34 types of family members from the closest family members like mother and father to members of the extended family--sister-in-law and niece.
As a vocabulary video, I spend more time focusing on pronunciation. The video is slightly slowed down to help you hear the sounds. The video is full of opportunities to practice your Ukrainian so feel free to watch it over and stop whenever you need to. Repeat after me. Out loud -- better. Remember that the more you practice, the better you become, so make sure to come back to this video to hone your skills.
Stay tuned till the end for BLOOPERS ^_^

добрий вечір, just watched this video, great job! I was married to a Russian woman from 1997 to 2003, and although it’s been a long time since I spoke Russian, the words you listed at 6:42 sounded very similar to the words for the husband’s parents. I put in the words I knew for the wife’s parents, my in-laws, into google translate from Russian to Ukrainian and out popped Тесть and Теща for the Ukrainian translations. Knowing some Russian is both a blessing and a curse, but I can’t unlearn it. Anyway, are Тесть та Теща commonly used. дуже дякую. 🇺🇦
