An oldie but a goodie... I know Kenwood made a good stand mixer in the past, and it shows, being yours is from the early seventies, but I don't know how they rate now. Was your mixer made in the UK, close to where you live? Thanks!

Hi Chris yes she is certainly old !! and she makes a racket when she's working but she sure does the job ! I bought it some years ago as I have fond memories of my mum having one and we used to lick the bowl clean when she made cake !! I couldn't bear to buy a new style! They were originally made in Havant Hampshire where I was born but today I think they make them in China lol.... not quite the same. They are very popular here but lots of people buy the kitchen aid !! so expensive. have a great day Chris !!

I have three Kenwood Chefs, one is old (60-70s model) and the other two are about five years old. The newer ones are still awesome and powerful, and work just as well as the older one. Kenwoods are a LOT more powerful than KitchenAid. My large Kenwood is 1200 watts, and the KitchenAid is about 350 watts. Huge difference.

Biggs' Home Cookin' I have the Kenwood Cooking Chef and it is an absolute beast. I love that machine. It is built very sturdy and with good quality materials. Before the Cooking Chef I had the Major Titanium Chef and never had a days worth of problems at all. The only reason I gave the Major Titanium Chef away is because I got the Cooking Chef as a gift. They are amazing machines, especially if you have all the attachments.... you can create most everything your heart desires.

@@gullwingstorm857 That's good to know. I just wish Kenwoods were more popular in North America. I remember when they were in the stores (from 1970s - 2015-ish). I used to see the ones like in the video, plus the newer Cooking Chef, Titanium, Kmix, but then they stopped selling them. KitchenAid rules the market here, but when my 1989 KA dies, I am going to get the 7 quart Kenwood Titanium. Still available online and at Costco.

thank you so much for this video. I recently purchased an old Kenwood like this one, second hand. It did not come with a manual and I had no idea how to attach the mincer. This video nailed it for me. Thanks again x

My mother-in-law had a Kenwood and when I got married back in 1975 I got one too. I love it, love it, love it. I now live in Florida and even though now I need a Transformer to use it, I still take it out and use it on a regular basis. It is fantastic. I hadn't used the mincer in a while and wanted to mince some ham to put inside my meatloaf along with my ground beef and ground pork. Now I remember how to use the attachment, thanks to you.

OMG, What a good vid you made. Ken Wood must have had not the slightest clue of how much his gadget would reach the very hearts of the customers he would please for generations to come. I have a greater sentimental attachment to my kenwood mixers than i do my car !! Well Done !!

Hi Rose I have a Kenwood A701A machine inherited from my mother,I think it dates from the early seventies,it's still going strong and regularly used,I have this grinding attachment and others including the potato peeler, very useful .When I have finshed meat grinding I put a slice or 2 of bread through ,it helps to clean it.I recently bought a second hand Km400 Kenwood from eBay ,it is also a great machine. Thanks

I have Kenwood Major that burnt out.
But a great guy on eBay replaced all the old electronic parts and now it's as good as new again , it's a late 70s as far as I am aware.

HI, I notice your mincing screens look a bit rusty, If you get some wet and dry paper from Helford, 1500 and 2000 grade, lay the paper on a flat service and use water on the paper. Then lay the mincing screen flat on the paper, then start rotating the mincing screen in a figure 8, pattern this will sand it flat while taking the rust away, Once happy wash it then dry it, cotton buds in the holes then place lard in a pan with the mincing screen .let it bubble about 1 minute and leave in there until cool enough to take out, take mince screen out and dry it, then every time you use it wash and dry completely and wrap in grease proof paper with a little mineral oil, owe never over tight the end it will put pressure on the blade centre and where it,
    great video,

Rose, that was a good demo. I reckon that it is great know exactly what is in your mince. Plus nice to know that it was one piece of meat before you minced it; rather than all the scraps on the butchers table.

Thank you Rose. I bought this model second hand and no instructions !!! I have a relish recipe requiring mincing....thought hmmmm maybe my Kenwood has that attachment, so thank you so much, you have just made my day (here in NZ). What speed do I use when mincing ? Also I would certainly love some more videos on how to use my Kenwood, it's exactly the same as your one. I'm never sure what speed to use for what when baking and what attachment is for what.......All trial and error at my end !!!!!!

Hello, may I ask how many years you've this Kenwood? Is it still working well? I remember them in the stores in the 1970s, along with a huge variety of attachments. I have my eye on the Kenwood Titanium 7-quart style. Thank you, and thanks for a helpful video about the mincer.

Hi Shashine I have had this kenwood going on just over 10 years I bought it secondhand and it goes like a dream as its an older model it can be noisy but i dont mind I used to use my mums when i was very young so I have always liked kenwood for its robustness. I have no idea what the new models are like. please do let me know if you get the titanium. many thanks for stopping by and for commenting cheers Rose :)

@@EasytoCookatHomeRose Hi Rose, Thanks for your message. I'm glad your machine is working so well. I think the quality remains with the newer ones, too, even though they are no longer made in the UK. I remember when your model of machine was available in the stores. I used to see them, along with all of the available attachments (including a potato peeler) in Eaton's (I live in Toronto, Canada.) I have a KitchenAid from 1989 and it is excellent, but their quality has declined over the years, especially for bread dough-making. When this machine gives up, I will definitely be getting a Kenwood Titanium mixer. Thanks again, and have a good day.

    A nice clear video. Thankyou.
I have the same model that I bought for my wife Rose, same name, way back in England in 1974 I think. It's one of the few things I brought to Thailand after my wife passed away in 1982. I still use it for bread making etc and its given me good service. I bought a mincer A926 for it way back in England in 1990 something. The problem I have is when I mince pork like pork belly, instead of mincing it starts to seize up and the fatty sinews clog the cutter. I keep the meat chilled and cut it into small pieces but it still happens. I've just made some sausages and its taken me ages because of having to dismantle the mincer. What am I doing wrong? Or is it the mincer? Don't mince your words ;-)

    • @rolandberendonck3900
      @rolandberendonck3900 7 місяців тому

I don't know if you solved your problem, but as far as I know you not only have to put your meat in the freezer but also the mincerA926 itself. And when your mincer is very cold and your meat too, you maybe have better luck. I got this info from another video somewhere else. Hope it will help you.
