Add the salt after the yeast starts to work. In fact, I do the liquids first and add the flour slowly. after the yeast starts foaming. I add the salt half through adding the flour.
Please don’t put grease into the top hole, it doesn’t do anywhere, remove the plastic case surrounding the gearbox you will find a large screw under the gearbox, put grease in there. Also use food safe grease not regular grease, you can get kenwood grease but I don’t know where to get it. If you are feeling very brave you could strip down the gearbox, clean and regrease all the parts, there are youtube videos which show this if you search.
Great video! I’ve just managed to bag a working one of these at the jumble sale, do you happen to know what the the cover is called that covers the blender attachment part? Mine came with the blender attached and no cover. When I google it it just comes up with covers for the whole thing. I can’t wait to make some of this bread! :)
My Kind of Thera search for Kenwood chef high speed outlet cover. Try it with and without your model number, which can usually be found just inside the base.
Great mixer!! The ratio of liquid and flour made me puzzled: 450 gr flour and 600ml water/milk , the liquid is 133% to Flour, with this amount of liquid the mixture should be runny . In your video the dough looks like having about 70-80% hydration. Did I miss an addition of Flour?
Hi Sean, I just inherited a model similar to your vintage machine with no instruction manual. Model # A907D. Would you do a video on how it works and how to clean? I really want to get baking!!! Thanks
Hi. I JUST bought one.. and apparently my baking group is telli g me the mixer will not be able to mix more than 1kg of flour and dry ingredients. What do you think?
1 teaspoon of salt not 2
and 300ml not 600ml
A bit dry... and too blond... - but excellent memory recall from late 70' - thanks for sharing. Some equipment just last for a while...
Nice recipe! I was hoping you'd have more videos! Oh well, thanks for uploading this one. I like how they turned out.
I think I should make more foody videos as people like this one
Hi, what for oil do you put in top of the arm of the machine?
You have a big screw there where you can put in oil for machine lubrication.
Yummy

What for oil do you use for this Kenwood machine? I mean for the lubrication of the machine, in top of the arm you have a big screw to insert oil

That big hole in the top is where the citrus juicer goes. DON’T put anything in there.
And use grease, not oil.
