- SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! I've packed everything I need for a long weekend trip in one little 15.7" x 9.8" x 7.8" bag. This bag should work on Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant, United Economy Basic, JetBlue Blue Basic, Ryanair and many more! Many airlines are allowing only a personal item bag for free. A separate carry-on suitcase or bag is not allowed without an additional charge. Packing in a personal item takes a little extra time and planning but it can definitely be done! Thank you for this review! I found this backpack on Amazon last night and I wanted to find an in-depth review of it on YT, so this was very helpful. I don't need to pack it full to capacity as you did for the video, but I will need a personal item backpack that can hold enough for a couple of days here and there so that I won't have to take my carry-on suitcase everywhere during my upcoming 5 week trip.
I just flew United Basic Economy with the Beis Mini Weekender & was totally fine… No issues at all!!!😊

I bought this bag from Amazon, and upon arrival I loved it!
The brown is a beautiful color, a nuanced-heathery brown.
But I had to return it; my 5.6" laptop was a hair too big for the laptop pouch.
I could get the zipper over one corner, but not the other. If only the height was a quarter inch more...

One thing I'm finding is it's hard to fit my 15.6" laptop in this laptop compartment.

Your US airlines seem better.. however from Uk so stringent. I certainly wouldnt risk the so called hacks. . Next time around will just have to lose most items and need to take tiny carry on but still laptop, a supply of inhalers and you know the British plugs which already weigh a lot! But ready to sacrifice as never going through my blue bag going missing 2 weeks which cost me and never got reimbursed for living expenses, plus then vanishing twice on intercity buses in Mexico and Turkey. I dont know how it happened 1st time ever. Have a tiny distinctive postcard decorated bag and that will be with me whatever. ILast time just had to buy winter things as snowed in Turkey and then had to leave it all behind... For first 60 years never had so many issues like that!!! 😂 Any suggestions re storage as in Uk ridiculous for a year for 2 bags even just not worth it
I haven't had the opportunity to fly on the UK airlines just yet. I agree that the US airlines are more generous in their allowances. I often fly the Canadian airlines and I find their requirements are smaller than the US airlines' as well. What are the dimensions of the UK airlines' baggage allowance? The bag doesn't "look" good at the beginning of the video because it's way overstuffed. I travel a lot, often for 4-7 weeks, so I know luggage and backpacks well.
There is no way that over-filled backpack would fit in the personal item sizers of most airlines. It looks to be at least 11 inches in depth. No airline allows that depth, even for a carryon, let alone a personal item. Of course, I could be wrong about the depth, but it looks huge. You also didn't measure the pack empty and full, something I always look for in reviews.
Once you took some items out, the pack looked nice. I don't think you showed the back of the pack at all. I look for storable shoulder straps, a trolley belt or sleeve, and a sternum strap. I won't buy a pack without those features.
