That guy who is doing the work, is pure craftmanship you see he is a very skilled guy who know's the car inside out. Respect.
Thanks for the comment are you a full-time mechanic and what cars are you working on?
Best video ever for MK6 TDI T-belt and Waterpump! Thx guys
Not a problem. Glad you liked it. What other cars are you working on?
Great video. Wish I would've seen this before I did the job on our 2015 Passat. One recommendation for other viewers, watch out for the DPF pressure sensor hard-line/hoses. I must've put too much pressure on them when moving around in that tight space and ended up snapping the nipple off of one of the DPF pressure sensors. That's a $100+ sensor... unbotton the blanket that covers them, and you can remove the sensors from their brackets very easily for some more slack in those lines.
To be clear, the "blanket" is silver in color and is a heat shield. It has snap buttons that hold it closed and you should use a straight edge screwdriver to pry them. If you pull on fabric to disconnect the buttons you will rip the fabric around the buttons. This fabric heat shield that protects the DPF sensors is at the upper rear of the engine, and the metal lines that are in the way are beside the upper timing belt cover. I broke one of my DPF sensors, but dug the broken nipple out of the hose connected to the metal lines. I then enlarged the hole where the nipple had been in the DPF sensor with a 5/16 drill bit (measured 0.310 inch diameter). I cut a vacuum nipple in half (0.333 inch diameter on the body) added a chamfer on the cut end, then proceeded to force the chamfered end into the enlarged hole in the DPF sensor with a vise. I mixed some 5 minute epoxy and sealed the connection with the epoxy and some bits of rag to form a composite. Time will tell if this fix will hold.
Manship right there.
Yeah, I'd say he's done that a few times.......... Nice work and great video!!!
Thx for the comment what other cars are you working on
Dude… you are a beast! Wow, made short work of that.
Thx we’ve done it a couple times lol
Dudes a beast
Thanks for the comment. What cars are you working on and are you a full-time mechanic?
Great video. Please explain step by step on the locking of the pullies and alignment. Thank you.
Did you guys manage to cut the video? It looks like you did... but he's one of the best I've seen so far 👍 great job! It helped me a lot. The difference was that I worked on the cuaa engine tipe the one on steroids 😂. But thanks a lot for the video. Keep up the good work!
Great vid. Where was leaking from? Around the oil pan? Heavy leak? Or just a couple drips a day?
Tu rapido trabajo muy bien muchas gracias
gracias por el comentario. Agradezco que veas el video.
Dam good video
Thanks for the comment are you a full-time mechanic and what cars would you like to see on the channel?
I have a 2015 golf tdi, is the process pretty much the same? This is the first timing belt I've done.
Great video. Just be careful with the DPF pressure sensor and line. If the line or plastic/seals cracks it will melt the sensor about a week after you put it all back together. Super comma for this to happen after this fix BC it's right in the way of everything. Also I recommend buying the highest quality parts you can get (they are hard to find). Had to do this whole fix twice BC the belt snapped and the DPF sensor melted. Lucky the damn thing didn't catch on fire. Have fun!
2015 passat tdi. What happens if you cant bleed with vacume bleeder? Or if I get one and bleed with no programmer? Thanks, Gordy
High Speed Operator!
good morning friend I have a vw jetta 2013 tdi currently has 97,000 miles and I should change the belt and the transmission oil or should I wait, I live here in Miami and I can't find anyone I trust to do this job can you help me
If i am not wrong there is no point on loosing the high presure pump nut and the camshaft bolt after replacing the belt.
I always do it before. You have to have loose both pulleys(including the little bolt on the camshaft) before installing the new belt.
I am used to do this job following the vw manual. If it works it works, but from my point of view the process is wrong.
Does the engine mount need new hardware?
Is there a certain kit you recommend to buy?
Any recommendations for a coolant vacuum system? 😁 THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!! Great job!

This is what we have.
How many miles were.on this car at.this time?
@GremcoGarage Could you kindly give the location and address of this Volkswagen dealership service shop in New York, would like to get some work done. Thanks in advance.
Curious how much does this cost?
10:45 when you put in the new water pump, did you put any additional sealant on the gasket or did you put it on dry? Just curious. Thanks!
Actually, I think it has an o-ring so there wouldn’t be any additional sealant needed.
Yes, no sealant just install
How many Miles on the Motor?
Do you ever replace the oil pump belt on these engines?
I never change the oil pump belt
what’s another way i can time the crankshaft if i don’t have the locking tool? can i just align the marks and be done ?
Please respond asap thank you!
Line up the the accessory belt crank pulley marking to the mark on the timing cover and use a paint pen to mark the toothed crank and front main seal
Was that the original pump the car came with from factory, how many miles and years did it last before it leaked?
Yes Oem pump car had 120k on it
@@GremcoGarage oh do you know how many years it was in the car
VAG UK recommend changing belt/pump 5 years or 140k miles whereas VAG GERMANY just say 240k km which is around 150k miles. Wondering if time does have an factor on the pump
What did you spray on there? Was that brake cleaner? Please respond I want to follow all your steps
If we are cleaning anything, it’s brake cleaner. If we are spraying anything on O-rings, it’s silicone spray.
Sorry for the delay I’ve been traveling
Damn I wish I had a lift. And more confidence.
Where is this dealership and mechanic? I want him to change my timing belt & water pump and change the oil in my tranny...my 2015 TDI is at 119,600 miles!
Does the injection pump also have to be replaced once in a while?
Very rarely
Also does the belt not have any timing marks I’ve only done chains and those have colored links
Looks like I’ll be taking mine to a mechanic to replace it, this seems like a bit too much for me. Great video and instructions nonetheless
lol what takes this guy half hour takes me half a day!
So what happens if u don’t vacuum coolant system? First Volkswagen ima be working on . Ever.
What’s your year make and model of the car you’re working on?
good instruction but you lack work hygene. fuel, coolant all dripping down on cambelt area. why bother to clean everything before reinstall. you left it all messy. WP entry must be cleaned and brushed before reinstall.
where are you guys located?
East coast usa
@@GremcoGarage i am in new hampshire. are you guys around new hampshire?
Unfortunately, no, sir
In Florida?

No worries appreciate you watching. Where are you from?
@@GremcoGarage I really am sorry ..Im from scotland ..I just can't control my fingers tonight
Scotland that’s Awsome
Hopeless mechanic, undelicate. Proceeds contrary to the instructions serviced VAG group . I would never give a car to them for repair
