Hey! Yes! It is used to see the shape of the pattern and how many pattern panels you will need. For some, it isn’t very useful if they have not made patterns before, but when I first started I would have found references very useful.

Thanks! I’m an overestimated, so I bought about 3 yards of each. You really only need about 1 - 2 yards depending on the material and size. The sleeves, I only needed 1 yard.
Unfortunately I did put a pattern up. I just do not know how to digitize one that is scaleable. I used measurements from a trucker jacket that I had and traced a pattern from it as well. As for the collar, I referred to this video. ua-cam.com/video/Td8lD_3Vcyc/v-deo.html the making of the collar is the first 10 minutes.

how many oz is the duck canvas?
The one I used was fairy light, around 7 ounces. I’m a big fan of heavier canvas, so if you’re like me I’d say 10-12 ounces.
