Hello mate, psychologist here, just want to say it's awesome what you're doing on your channel and I admire the way you use the lessons you've learnt yourself to help others to prevent them from experiencing the same fate, or to make it easier to cope with it in a healthy manner. Was curious to see the people's reaction on this video as I found it very striking and brilliantly done, came here and thought I'd leave this comment. Be well and good luck in your future endeavors.
First time on your channel. I have seen this ad before and when you paused it to speak about the man on the left I knew the end would hit you like a truck. It did to all of us
I had my issues around 4 years ago. My football club did save my life. In the media at the time, but it is true that the signs aren't always there. Even if they are, some will say 'there are others worse off than you' or 'pull yourself together man'. Yes I had those very phrases directed at me. But fortunately, awareness is much better now. Being a man and feeling down is not a sign of weakness in any way shape or form. You are human. For a man, it is harder because of expectations. As we have seen though, mental health affects us all. I would add that 'depression' does not always truly go away. Whether you do get that job after 5 years unemployed or the love of your life gets back with you or your debts are all cleared instantly. That emotion drains us, it has an impact on who we are. If you are feeling depressed or see no way out, talk to someone. Even if everthing is ok again but you feel down....talk to someone. Sometimes it might be just someone you casually know that you talk to. Ideally one of the various help groups and telephone lines. They do not judge, but they do help. Even after my issue was 'resolved', I still found myself visiting a self help group for other things that affected me and to this day keep in close contact with them. The Norwich video is something long overdue. A friend of mine recently published a book about mental health in football. Match Fit: An Exploration of Mental Health in Football by Johnnie Lowery. I'm in it and at the time spent an hour chattng to Johnnie about my depression. It is worth a read even if you aren't into football. Ignore those who say 'pull yourself together' or 'others are worse off than you'. They are not in your mind. ONLY YOU know how you feel and how much pain you are feeling from whatever reason. Please get the help that you deserve. Gavin
I work as a mental health practitioner for the nhs so using my training I can spot the gentlemen on the left showing common symptoms.. depressed mood, emptiness, sadness, a diminished interest (the signs you can spot without having to ask further questions) but my attention turned to the gentlemen on the right when he started asking questions.. my initial reaction would be to deflect and turn the ‘how are you’ back on him as I always remain curious so pwerful when it finally hit. So well done. I hope everyone took something from this - I certainly did
Hi i suffer with depression and anxiety.i found that we class life as a stage and we put on a happy face to fool our family's and friends an act .then when the act stops thats when we breakdown ❤.my message is try to speak aboutvhow you feel and get help .take care be safe
Brilliant film 🎥 I’ll maybe post about it but not sure it isn’t too long to react to (I’ll have a think though as it’s defnitely relatable). Thanks for sharing
I was about to moan about the manipulative soundtrack, but it adds to the “obvious” message which is actually quite clever. We are deceived more than manipulated. And that’s the message: people can “deceive” us and we think they are doing OK when they’re not.

Thanks great 👍🙏🙏🙏
It’s always the ones that looks ok and very cheerful that has troubles deep inside

Thank you phil
It's called acting.......It's not real. It's fake
The message is the still the same
