For me, it's not the items I judge- it's the "parents" who walk around shopping and ignoring their infant/ toddler who is screeching like a tornado siren.

My Stepdad did the couponing thing before it became popular. He’s one who did it for fun. Often he’d donate the excessive amount we didn’t need. Food stuff we wouldn’t use before expiration would be delivered to local schools and charities within a week. The rest were stored in the basement pantry and donated on a by-need basis. If we learned of someone or a family in needed the basics (stationary, personal hygiene, etc) he’d ask them what they wanted.
Sad thing, he was unusual. Most who couponed by the caseload would resell or scam return policies by getting full priced refunds or store credits.

My best story is one October, a woman buying a bag of candy and a pack of rat poison. Jokes were made, she laughed, I laughed, guy in queue laughed. I miss that job. It was best case for what it was, but my anxiety poisoned it horribly for me.

The dressing probably made it to a food bank
The people buying fatty foods. Most of the time that is the cheapest. Also if you're someone like I was, someone who comfort ate because of depression. Don't judge someone when you have no idea what they're going through

5:35 various things. Share them with relatives, donate to a food bank, or make a massive salad for a celebration are three possibilities.

Some people buy nothing but chips, ice-cream, soda, and hotdogs because those are the only things that they can't raise/grow/make themselves. My family must have attracted a lot of judgement because of that.

All of that salad dressing might've been a bulk buy for a restaurant

could also be part of a couponing group where they trade items, the dressing could be barter material for other items other couponers have bought

I'm a cashier at a grocery store. Parents that decide they can't afford the healthy veggies and fruits for their kids but somehow can afford a couple 24 packs of beer get judged hard by me. Yes I have had more than a few parents make that choice. One of the kids had even been saying how excited he was to have a banana for his snack before the mom decided her Coors light was more important

Those kind of shitty-ass parents are the worst. They would rather feed their addictions than feed their kids...Disgraceful, disgusting, deplorable.

I try not to judge because most of the people I serve are pretty chill (they don’t deserve to get a helping of my irritation thrown at them), but there’s definitely been cases where I’ve actually been concerned when a customer buys cigarettes.

Why is that? Rae Dunn is a little more expensive than what it deserves, but are there any other reasons?

If I have to buy a cucumber, I buy a jar of Vaseline at the same time.
    I don’t want people thinking I’m a vegan.

What grocery store stocks 217 packages of anything? I couponed years ago and most stores had max 1/2 dozen of any item on the shelf. They might come up with a few bottles from the back if you asked nicely. I never got more than 10 of anything (usually 3 or 4) because they just didnt have that many.

If you want God to answer your prayers, you have to believe he exists and that he will answer those who seek him. You can't just throw out your prayers into the void "just in case", because that means you still have no faith.

How many people are 217 bottles of salad dressing enough for?

    • @justin2308
      @justin2308 6 місяців тому

The average bottle is about 8 Oz, and one site I found suggested that the average amount given to each person is 2.5 Oz. One bottle should therefore be enough for at least 3 people.
By that logic, you’re feeding at least 651 people.
Edit: Correction. You’re feeding up to 694 people.

There is a cat food that has shrimp and other things that looks and smelled like human canned seafood. But that was super expensive you can buy tuna cheaper.
