I still remember the time that 0.9.0 was released, it was an absolute game changer for pocket edition. Infinite worlds, villages (with untradable villagers), biomes, pretry much all the basic stuff that was in Java had been ported over. An amazing time
Unfortunately there was a bug with the update and player modified chunks weren’t protected for some reason. I remember how excited I was for that update but when I opened the game a jungle had rewritten almost every chunk of the survival world I’d played in since PE came out. Lost it all. Also it was sad to see the alpha worldgen go. Seeds like infinity no longer worked.
I remember losing my mind when that update came out. I didn’t have a computer so pocket edition was all I had to play Minecraft. I was so excited when all the cool stuff from the “real” version of Minecraft was brought over.
the memories are actually insane. I was 5 years old when I played pocket edition for the first time in 2011. Minecraft pocket edition have given me so many memories, I remember running over to my friends house were we'd play on wifi hosted words for hours. Simpler times huh.
I remember in these versions when you could break bedrock in creative but you died if you went into the void. I also remember how specifically putting in a mode wasnt possible you only had mobs on and mobs off! 😂
Shoot, I remember that, I also remember when mobs would chase and attack you even in creative! Specifically zombies, I think it was a glitch but I don't remember.
So glad someone else remembers this!! I used to be so afraid of mobs, I vividly remember being chased by a horde of zombies and creepers even when I was in creative 😭
i remember duping an insane amount of them and just destroying my world with nether towers. the day/night cycle was completely broken since it switches to night while youre fighting zombie pigmen, the night was infinite until you reload the world
Even though most people either download an apk version on a website, it still brings me back to playing the lite version and being mesmerized of playing minecraft on the phone
I like limited size worlds, it sorta gives you a challenge of limited resources. With the modern beta mod for java edition, you can live with that if you install a boarder mod that makes you don't walk in the infinite shallow water area.
3:48 Fire was removed in 0.3.0 due to a bug and re-added in 0.7.0, and lava was so rare pre-0.9.0, that if you find some, you wrote down the seed. 5:44 It was Obsidian because Netherrack was added in 0.6.0
I still remember my old favorite seed that somehow transcended patches for years, it was originally seed code “0.7.0” and it would spawn you next to a decent sized hill, and if you dug straight down at a specific corner of the hill, you’d run into iron, gold and diamonds all in one no-danger tunnel. The actual code for the seed changed several times over the years of patches but someone always found that exact seed again.
2:12 In that version the edge of the world was covered in blocks called "Invisible Bedrock" (which is a Bedrock exclusive block even to this day) which was similar to barriers except you can't select it and it blocks light. That's why if you go over the hight limit, you can go ontop of the edge.
god i remember getting PlugPE so i could get items and use setblock and stuff (commands didnt work then of course) and having so much fun softing through the item ids, using invisible bedrock and stuff. this brings me back a little bit
/setblock (location) invisibleBedrock destroy (in repeating command block) Farm invisibleBedrock before it's patched! It actually hasn't been patched yet...
This was so cool to watch, because all of the versions of MCPE i played were between these two versions. So I loved seeing the comparison of how basic it was before I started playing to advanced it had become even before it was bedrock!!
Who remembers the crazy duping glitches back in the day and how easy it was to dupe and duping over and over to get the nether reactor and do it a ton 😂
I managed to do some of those duping glitches off camera where you exited the game and reloaded and blocks you placed would be in your inventory as well
Oh man, I remember when 0.9.0 came out. I was so hyped to get a ton of new features because I never had Minecraft on console of PC. However, when I reminisce nowadays, my heart will always belong to 0.8.0 because that was when I first started Minecraft.
As a kid back in 2012 the first time I ever played Minecraft was on Minecraft Lite, I was so terrified of herobrine and the scary fog that I would quit once it would turn night haha, it was so fun seeing all the old block textures and just how everything was. The crafting brought back so many memories, espcially the other two versions you played, its crazy how far Minecraft has come over the past 10 years. I’m just glad I got to experience all of the versions
bro i search up old minecraft pocket addition event and i spent ages trying to find someone who would show it because i just remembered that me and my dad did the nether reactor core
this brings back so many memories I remember going into creative and placing the TNT down and trying to figure out a way to ignite it but you couldn't in this version of Minecraft
Still have my copy on my first Kindle, a Kindle Fire HD7. The nether rector core is a damn callback to the best era for Minecraft when it came to playing it on the go. The small world sizes seemed massive back then. The best part of the Nether Core Reactor was building in the structure it generated after you collected all the dropped items and killed the zombie pigmen. It was essentially a “instant house/base” that was large enough to fit many 2/3 block high floors inside. Ah the damn nostalgia. Wish they never abandoned this version for that god awful “bedrock” edition.
I miss the old world size and how basic everything was I grew up playing this version of the game for years since I had no clue what I was doing back then like how to update games 😂
as a 12 year old kid back then with no computer, these early versions of pocket edition really take me back!! we used to use shady apps to edit our inventories and skins, back at a time where the latter hadnt even been added yet! Downloading maps from the internet and using file managers to import them into the game were my first real experiences of using computers beyond just simply clicking and typing in a web browser. Good times, thank you for bringing this nostalgia back!
At the time I remember being so envious of the infinite worlds of the Java edition but now I sort of miss the small worlds with their unique terrain generation. As the player you feel like you have a much bigger impact on the world around you and every block you interact with feels meaningful when you have such tight space constraints
6:25 I REMEMBER THIS. I REMEMBER THIS ONE. I remember playing it on my mom's phone in like, 2016. The best thing ever was having Minecraft at all even if it was a bad version. Man, nostalgia blast.
holy crap this is a trip down memory lane. i remember going on top of the world border and the nether reactor core and shilling out 7$ to my parents to get them to buy the game good memories holy crap that crafting menu has brought back memories. i remember being mad when they changed that
I remember that sleeping in multiplayer worked differently in one of these versions. I'm pretty sure that one player could progress to the next day while the other was still in the previous one. You would just see the other player in the bed.
I remember playing the demo with my sister when I was a kid. My parents allowed me to use their credit card to buy the full version of MCPE on a car ride to a restaurant, and I was so excited I barely ate because I just wanted to go home to finally join my sister in the full game. I still play it to this day, although I only play on PC now. Bought it with my own money that I made from my very first job. Such memories that grew up with me.
Started playing Minecraft since v.0.15 pocket edition. Still remember the first house i built with emerald block on the top of mountain. Thanks for making this video man. Nostalgia hit us so hard
I remember building this big winding network of wood bridges and buildings. I remember one of them having a roof/ceiling of sand, and it all fell when the update that made sand have gravity came. Good times
Fun fact: I watch a youtuber called Dallasmed65, who still plays on his survival created on 0.9.0. He's on current day bedrock edition now, but I think it's insane he's still on his world created in such an old PE version.
It's not quite the same, but I've been playing on my bedrock world since I created it on Xbox One Edition in 2016. The centre of the world still has all the tiny biomes that the game used to have and it's a really nostalgic setting.
I'm not sure what version my friends and I played back i the day, but it was DEFINITELY one with the Netherrack forming Nether Reactor core. We activated the core right next to our base lol so the netherrack tower was there for a while. And I always used to be scared of the zombie pigmen lol (i did not help in the combat xD), and I would be the one who collects and uses all the quartz. Those were the times. Thanks for this nostalgia trip, man 🥲
I remember me and my cousin playing Minecraft pe. From the first time we figured out how to play multiplayer (we were young and confused when we saw the others world pop up and it glitched 75% of the time) to the endless trip mining for diamonds because we had nothing better to do. Those will forever be good memories.
7:07 They haven't added the end yet, but 0.9.0 is the biggest update yet of any of the editions, they basically changed generation to be similar to Beta 1.3 Java but w/o Caves or Dungeons or anything, to 14w02a Java (early 1.8 snapshot) overworld generation, as well as added a good chunk of the blocks and mobs in between those 2 versions: villagers, endermen, wolfs, heck I believe even ghast if you hack it in all came in this version. There was no Enderdragon, Wither, Wither Skeleton, or redstone (except for crafting)
@@yaoao-134 They added it in the first 3-parter update that was released (the second 3-parter update was Caves and Cliffs). With the basic dust, torches, and some things like redstone lamps added in 0.13.0 (which was released with the official map "The Redstone Mansion"), Pistions and other stuff added in 0.14.0, and Observers and other stuff added in 0.15.0 (which was released with an official map that was a giant Ruby Goldberg machine)
i played the version u showed last in the video, so nostalgic lol. i didnt actually know what the nether reactor core was for back then so i just used it for decoration 💀 i also remember when you couldnt craft mossy cobblestone, so whenever i found it in dunegons i would take all of it
I released some old versions of pocket edition for old iPhones. My method was using app admin on a jailbroken iphone, using 3utools to extract the versions and then upload them to non jailbroken old iPhones, only works on iOS 6 to iOS 12 so it’s not bulletproof. Mcpe versions works are 0.1.2 to 1.0.0
I started playing pocket edition in December of 2015, this was back in 0.13.0, or the redstone update, so redstone, and several items related to it, like levers and redstone lamps, we’re just added to the game. A very different time…
i 100% started playing minecraft PE on that first alpha. i remember the game was either free or piss cheap. a few months after that we got xbox 360 edition. SO many of my core memories were made with these games. thank you for covering them!😊
Yoooo I remembered when MCPE transitioned from the old menu screen to the moving BG menu screen. We had old MCPEtubers reviewing the update and I was staring at the new content for hours!
@@JerooMinecraft its like it has its own atmosphere. pocket edition feels cosy, while early java version have a much more unsettling vibe to them, like that of the ARG Minecraft Alpha 1.0.16 Versions.
Great video, i remember the first version i played was around alpha 0.7.0, i still remember all the limitations and stuff, and seeing the title screen in 0.9.5 brought me back, like that was the title screen of the first time(s) i EVER played minecraft. wow
I remember started a week or two before the nether reactor core was removed. I honestly remember being excited for Bedrock edition for no reason other that it sounding cool and being new. Man things change...
i remember when they added the nether react core and i was amazed. Also i remember lighting up a. bunch on tnt and watching my itouch struggle to actually render it
crazy how you got only 17.1k subscribers, your edits are pretty creative, also that nether reactor got me really nostalgic haha subscribed to you as wel :)
Who else dug to bedrock in creative and built a tiny tower to the build limit then ignited it to see if there were any underground structures in the area
My first version played on Pocket Edition was 0.8.0. I still rmb the excitements I had when villages and infinite worlds were added in 0.9.0. Btw, I switched to pc version since 0.14 something so I now still think they are the newest versions.
So nostalgic, first version I played was 0.2.1 demo, me, my brother and friends used to play all the time, then we got the full 0.5.0 and eventually xbox, but we still played the hell out of mcpe versions, sadly we moved and never saw them again, haven’t heard from them in about 10 years.
6:49 THIS. Oh how much I miss this UI. No microtransactions, no senseless sorting of items in the creative inventory, no major graphical bugs... just pure, simple fun. Please tell me how you got this to work on your phone ;-( cause I hate playing modern Bedrock edition.
If I remember correctly someone asked this exact same to a MCPE developers "why you guys just didn't implement the nether portal/the nether instead", well because Phones couldn't handle that much power back then, and couldn't run going to the nether
i actually cried watching 0.5.0 i used to play LITE on my moms iphone when i was 7 the good old days are long gone, thank god we at least can revisit it now
I was only in Elementary school when I played these version, and it's how I've never forgotten that sand and gravel didn't have any gravity at one point
I started playing minecraft lite edition in 2011 after my sister introduced it to me. I remember when minecarts and rails were added and using the nether reactor core
old minecraft pocket edition is so nostalgic for me, its the one i grew up with along with xbox 360 but that was later on. one specific memory i have on pocket edition is me, my older sister and my older cousin finally getting the nether reactor core in minecraft and setting it off. it turned red and the cobble turned into something weird too. we were so scared and all of the sudden pigmen started spanwing. obviously our tiny brains were able to beat it 😎. looking back at it sometimes i wish i was older during those times so i can remember more about it but i cant. im stuck with the very vague pictures and memories stuck in my head. on my old ipad that has sadly been hacked so i cant access it anymore, i had an entire recreation of stampys lovely world (obviously it was terrible) but i also had the nether reactor core block from when i placed it before it was removed. it looked really weird as if they put a 4x4 gold block pixel in the middle with diamond all around with a grey outline. i would go on it but as i said it was hacked so i cant. i wish i could remember more.
This brings back SO MANY MEMORIES, i originally started playing on pc, but of course there was no switch then, handheld pcs were really expensive, steam deck (which i use to play mc now) wasnt even on the drawing board, so yep, this is what i played as a kid
I dearly miss the nether reactor core. Some of my fondest memories of P.E. as a kid is exploiting the hell out of that glitch where you just threw items out of your inventory from a specific slot and using it to work my way up to the nether reactor hahahah. I still remember those old worlds hahah, sad they're gone.
back in the day on an old version of MCPE I found a seed that actually spawned you outside of the world border on top of that void, I was over a hundred blocks away from the actual map it was really cool.
I recently discovered that somehow, some of my old creative worlds of 2016 of our city still exists. I couldn't believe it, it's the ones which i clearly visually remember. It was nice visiting them one last time honestly (probably can in the future as well, but still!)
Remember when we actually have mods? Nowadays I think it is discontinued due to addons and no interest in maintaining it. I think we should bring back the old mods and stuff but probably no one will do it though
my first version was 0.6.9 i think in 2013….. i can remember when my friends were all excited about 0.10.0 releasing and wow…. this just brings back the memories
I remember having this on my iPod touch and seeing old youtube videos on how to get TNT, the version I remember didn't even have TNT yet. All the videos were about jailbreaking your phone with Cydia to use a hex editor and add TNT in.
Cool fact, you were able to get red obsidian if you broke it around the nether reactor core and you would usually be able to break around 1-4 of them depending on how fast you could go, also it would keep the netherack intact
I played the second version on a family friend's ipad during family events, and distinctly remember one world, with a series of apartments built for each member of my family with blocks that reminded me of them, a hotel for mobs, a house with all the special looking blocks i could find (including stone cutter and nether reactor core) lined up by the wall like you would a crafting table, furnace, etc. in your first shelter, a crude terracotta statue of myself, and a pit made when i made a creeper statue out of tnt and blew it up. I vaugely remember accidentally destroying this world, most likely with tnt, and since it was on a long abandoned version of pocket edition on a family friends ipad, there's no chance I'll ever see it again. Makes me kinda sad.
dude i remember one time on christmas flying up onto the world border and because of the fog not finding back to my world for an hour I was bawling my eyes out because I'd thought I'd lost my world
i started playing minecraft back in PE 0.4.1, in a way i miss the old days of these versions, i remember when TNT was finally able to be ignited in creative. we had a lava block for placing lava but it never really did much. even when placed around TNT. there was another time when i messed with the nether reactor core a bit to close to my base and it cut it in half. those where the days...
I don't remember what version I first played, it was 2014 I think. After playing a bit of the demo on PC, I saw my classmate at school playing it on his tablet, saying he just got the game and only really went as far as making a small 2 block tall sand enclosure. My eyes lit up brightly that moment that I realised it was on mobile as well. Because there wasn't a license check back then, I just had him bluetooth it to me and man the whole school was soon playing it or at least our section. I was so notorious that I was the only one in class who was banned from using my own phone as soon as any teachers were there because I just didn't stop playing, I had so much fun. It was such a simple time back then.

@@yaoao-134 and besides, we are talking about 0.9.5, not 0.14.1.
i played the version u showed last in the video, so nostalgic lol. i didnt actually know what the nether reactor core was for back then so i just used it for decoration 💀 i also remember when you couldnt craft mossy cobblestone, so whenever i found it in dunegons i would take all of it
god that out of bounds glitch brought back memories
i found that myself when i was a kid back in 2011
woah you must have been one of the og finders of the glitch
I released some old versions of pocket edition for old iPhones. My method was using app admin on a jailbroken iphone, using 3utools to extract the versions and then upload them to non jailbroken old iPhones, only works on iOS 6 to iOS 12 so it’s not bulletproof. Mcpe versions works are 0.1.2 to 1.0.0
I started playing pocket edition in December of 2015, this was back in 0.13.0, or the redstone update, so redstone, and several items related to it, like levers and redstone lamps, we’re just added to the game. A very different time…
I remember this, I have so many memories of it, from the nether reactore core to the textures and the crafting interface, good times.
Im glad the video brought back good memories. It was great getting to play this version again!
3:14 Gravity has Fallen
i 100% started playing minecraft PE on that first alpha. i remember the game was either free or piss cheap. a few months after that we got xbox 360 edition. SO many of my core memories were made with these games. thank you for covering them!😊
Yoooo I remembered when MCPE transitioned from the old menu screen to the moving BG menu screen. We had old MCPEtubers reviewing the update and I was staring at the new content for hours!
Built the nether reactor verrrrrrrry close to my house the first time, back when it was made of obsidian.
Took me a week to mine out everything lol
LOL
Only legends remember Multiplayer Master , Good old times 😢
Yes Good times 😢
MCPE Lite was one of my first experiences with Minecraft, not the best start lol
haha true it isn't exactly the best first impression but still fun none the less
Omg this almost made me cry, this is legit the first few versions ive ever played of minecraft.
Omg I was HERE , i remember it all, no hunger bar, nether react cores and farming the diamond for it, plus the small world borders , LOVED IT ALL
love this content!! keep it up
the history of pocket edition feels different to that of Java.
yep, it's very unique
@@JerooMinecraft its like it has its own atmosphere. pocket edition feels cosy, while early java version have a much more unsettling vibe to them, like that of the ARG Minecraft Alpha 1.0.16 Versions.
@@half-dusted Pocket edition aka Minecraft: Toilet Edition
@@user-28qhfk65 lmao
Great video, i remember the first version i played was around alpha 0.7.0, i still remember all the limitations and stuff, and seeing the title screen in 0.9.5 brought me back, like that was the title screen of the first time(s) i EVER played minecraft. wow
I remember there was a seed that made the whole world water. I used to use that seed as a pseudo "super flat" world in creative mode.
Omg i remember when i used to play these old versions the old tnt sound the exclusive pigman skin the memories 😢
I remember the version where sprinting was finally added, it was a good day
No sprinting>
I remember started a week or two before the nether reactor core was removed. I honestly remember being excited for Bedrock edition for no reason other that it sounding cool and being new. Man things change...
This gave me a wave of memories, used to play with my cousins and I remember when u couldn't sleep when in creative cuz it was always day xD
woah I didn't even realise that it stayed day in creative
That version was one of the first videogames i've played, thank you very much Jeroo for bringing pure nostalgia !
i remember when they added the nether react core and i was amazed. Also i remember lighting up a. bunch on tnt and watching my itouch struggle to actually render it
6:25 this version I played when it had ripoffs of the version, it’s so nostalgic to see someone play a forgotten version of Minecraft.
no way so many good memories. i think i got pocket edition around early 2014 but i used to play on my friends ipad in 2012
love the nostalgia, btw how did you get these versions?
I have every version, which one do you want?
Apks lol
crazy how you got only 17.1k subscribers, your edits are pretty creative, also that nether reactor got me really nostalgic haha
subscribed to you as wel :)
Who else dug to bedrock in creative and built a tiny tower to the build limit then ignited it to see if there were any underground structures in the area
The nether reactor one of the most unique Feature from the pocket edition
Sure, I have every version, and which version do you want?
I remember building the nether spawn thing and like a small nether area would pop up like a tower
it was a strange way of adding the nether
this is so nostalgic to me. Minecraft Pocket Edition and Xbox 360 are the only versions I’ve ever played and this brought back the best memories
FUN FACT: Some items in creative mode werent while in Survival mode you did
If I remember correctly someone asked this exact same to a MCPE developers "why you guys just didn't implement the nether portal/the nether instead", well because Phones couldn't handle that much power back then, and couldn't run going to the nether
i actually cried watching 0.5.0 i used to play LITE on my moms iphone when i was 7
the good old days are long gone, thank god we at least can revisit it now
"Looks like the new version"
No og MCPE players will agree to this
I was only in Elementary school when I played these version, and it's how I've never forgotten that sand and gravel didn't have any gravity at one point
9:18 side note but glowing obsidian was also in minecraft story mode season two
I started playing minecraft lite edition in 2011 after my sister introduced it to me. I remember when minecarts and rails were added and using the nether reactor core
crying the nostalgia goes crazy. Makes me proud how far mc pocket edition has come
old minecraft pocket edition is so nostalgic for me, its the one i grew up with along with xbox 360 but that was later on. one specific memory i have on pocket edition is me, my older sister and my older cousin finally getting the nether reactor core in minecraft and setting it off. it turned red and the cobble turned into something weird too. we were so scared and all of the sudden pigmen started spanwing. obviously our tiny brains were able to beat it 😎. looking back at it sometimes i wish i was older during those times so i can remember more about it but i cant. im stuck with the very vague pictures and memories stuck in my head. on my old ipad that has sadly been hacked so i cant access it anymore, i had an entire recreation of stampys lovely world (obviously it was terrible) but i also had the nether reactor core block from when i placed it before it was removed. it looked really weird as if they put a 4x4 gold block pixel in the middle with diamond all around with a grey outline. i would go on it but as i said it was hacked so i cant. i wish i could remember more.
Please tell me you remember the tv
I can’t find anything but all my friends remember it
PLEASE, I THINK I AN GOING INSANE
@@ILOVERIDINGMYBIKEi swear that was education edition but idk i think u might be imagining things
@@waddel-t8f shit
Never had education edition when I was young
@@ILOVERIDINGMYBIKE idk if it was on education edition I didn’t have it either I’m just basing it of UA-cam videos
I loved playing the older versions of Minecraft Pocket Edition. I remember building large houses in creative
I love how chill and casual you are.
Thank you :)) I try not to be like the youtubers always screaming for no reason
These are the good old days of pocket edition aka bedrock edition back then you had the ability to do more you could make shaders better addons
Remember when we actually have mods? Nowadays I think it is discontinued due to addons and no interest in maintaining it. I think we should bring back the old mods and stuff but probably no one will do it though
@@user-28qhfk65 yeah, but I think the mods were hardcoded
to see the Wii U edition would be cool but unexpected
I've got that version I could try and make a video on it soon!
my first version was 0.6.9 i think in 2013….. i can remember when my friends were all excited about 0.10.0 releasing and wow…. this just brings back the memories
I remember being so excited that they added tnt only to have to wait ages for them to add flint and steel to light said tnt
I remember having this on my iPod touch and seeing old youtube videos on how to get TNT, the version I remember didn't even have TNT yet. All the videos were about jailbreaking your phone with Cydia to use a hex editor and add TNT in.
If i remember the nether reactor core was a place holder for the entire nether for PE
The old bone cracking sounds. They sounded much better and there were multiple variants back in the day. I wonder why it was changed
It was such a simple time back then.
the nostalgia dudee
This Ends the argument on which is more nostalgic....Bedrock/Pocket Edition is the most nostalgic cause we all first played this version as kids
My first Minecraft version was 0.6.0 alpha, and holy damn the old menu was so nostalgic
