Very Good Video. I will explain some of the things. Piston Chest Dupe: You must find an unopened chest in your world and put a piston beside it. Then you have to put a lever to activate it. Then all of the Chests Items will fly out of it. Boat Glitch: This is a speedrunning term used for putting the Ender Dragon in a Boat and killing it. I really enjoined the video. I hope it blows up so everyone can see it ♥ and yes 1.14 console edition means the the 1.14 equivalent for PS4. The reason I put that on there is because not alot of people knew PS4 got 1.14.
The sticky piston unopened loot chest I never got woodland mansion chest to do it. Any other generated loot chest worked. Also I seen that trick in speed run tutorials not sure if I ever found it as a video itself which could be why it's not easy to find. Edit piston chest dupe works on 360 aquatic update still and the nether hopper loop dupe anything still works just kill a LOT of lag for faster portal transitions for it to work.

Fun fact: Despite its rarity, Minecraft Nintendo Switch Edition actually still has its own community of people who regularly play online to this day. This is despite it still only having features from 1.12. It's pretty easy to join random people's worlds by playing the Battle minigame, then adding the people you play with as Switch friends. There are even people who have minigame servers.
What I always loved about these older versions, community is just unreal and is always welcoming. Wish I could still buy the switch edition but microsoft dislikes its existence. Only way to get the switch edition at this point would be to either homebrew it or buy an account with it huh? sad.
Can confirm. I’ve joined some crazy worlds with some amazing servers. We’re a small community but there are some amazing worlds and servers (and some really terrible ones) on switch edition
9:40 I think world generation refers to the fact that, on the xbox 360 edition, tu0 - tu4 had identical world generation to java edition versions beta 1.6.6/beta 1.7.3. If you downgrade your xbox 360 edition (just delete update data in settings), you can play that day one version. You can use any classic minecraft java seed from beta days. Like 404 or Gargamel. Or put in the pack.png seed, or the title world seed. They all work, with identical generation. Obviously, the edges of the world are cut off due to limited world side. But you can do this in reverse, too! The seed for the xbox 360 tu1 - tu4 tutorial world is: 1171544198849424676 If you load that seed on minecraft java edition versions beta 1.2 through 1.7.3, it will have the exact same terrain generation as that original tutorial world. Obviously, without the structures.
That still works with updates all the way through tu31 just the structures like villages and strongholds wont be the same. After tu31 you have to but biome size to large to get java terrain.
this is actually really cool, thought they were all made in creative since some of the maps, mainly the minigame maps, if loaded on java, are floating islands on super flat worlds
@@LegoLoco7 from what they’re saying I’m guessing it was some kind of build competition gamemode but don’t take this as a fact it’s just an un educated guess :/
As if all the other console editions never had non-public beta builds, like they just wrote all the code for the final version in one go and published it
1:38 my dude just spent 2 levels and possibly chipped the anvil to repair a wooden pickaxe in a way that could have been done for free in the crafting grid
There is some obscure stuff I know about legacy edition that wasn’t in this video, I remember playing it at least before TU12, so I’ll put them here since I think some people would find them interesting… Before you could use sideways logs, there was a glitch you could do with a redstone contraption that looked sorta like a TNT launcher that would glitch wood blocks to look sideways or even have the bark texture on all sides, to get it in you would build the contraption in creative and then switch to survival to mine it and go back into creative to use it forever. I remember doing the “breaking bedrock” glitch that was in the iceberg, you could see the void, however you couldn’t go inside of it as it acted sorta like if there was a barrier block underneath the bedrock. There used to be a Herobrine skin in Skin Pack 1, but it was removed around 2018 I think, apparently it’s because the actual creator of Herobine could sue Mojang and 4J if they wanted to, so it avoid that risk he was removed, although you can still find Zombie Herobine and Festive Herobine I believe. Back in 2012 there was a Halloween skin pack that was available for a limited time, I remember being upset that I couldn’t get it in around 2018 because it had Hatty Hattington from BattleBlock Theater in it and I was really into that game at the time and I wanted to play as him so bad, I think one of Stampy’s helpers used his skin. There is an option to customize a superflat world that was SUPER useful but isn’t in Bedrock Edition, this, the “exit without saving” button, and the ability to actually pause the game during an offline session are three of the benefits of playing these versions instead of the modern ones. If you crouch while flying with an Elytra, your arm will go out like you’re Superman. I don’t know if this is in any other version, I try this on Bedrock sometimes but I don’t see it. Gamma. Dude, this setting was soooo useful. I always played with my gamma all the way up because then you could see in the darkness no matter what. I did this for my mines, the brightness setting on Bedrock doesn’t even hold a candle to gamma, I can’t see anything on Bedrock in my dark caves. I think there used to be a glitch where you could use paid skins for free? You would go to a paid skin pack, go to one of the few free skins they had, then press A and either left or right at the same time, and you could equip the skin next to it. I don’t know if this was an actual thing or not, but I remember hearing about it. There used to be a really silly glitch to duplicate items. For example, you’d get 9 diamonds and rename all of them in an anvil, then go into a crafting table and craft a diamond block, you’ll still have your renamed diamonds in your inventory. You could then turn your diamond block back into 9 diamonds and keep repeating it. My friend experienced a really weird glitch in Xbox One Edition, the Minecraft logo seen on the pause menu stayed on his screen even after unpausing. He sent me screenshots but I don’t think I have them anymore, very strange. At some point there was a logo change. In some versions, there was a dark gray rectangle behind the “(console name) Edition” text, but it was removed. If you downgrade your 360 Edition, the mob textures will be messed up and you’ll be wearing a glitchy cape. I also think the game crashes at random points. In a Halloween texture pack, the Enderman is replaced with Slenderman, I think that’s pretty cool. You used to be able to enchant any item with any enchantment in creative. I remember putting every enchantment on a diamond sword whenever I started a new creative world so I could kill every animal I needed to, even if it did nothing for my sword like projectile protection. In the 360 trailer, the usernames Crooked Creeper, Zoe The Zombie, and Wicked Wolf are seen. I just searched for these names on Xbox and apparently they either never existed or don’t exist anymore. They go against the current policy that gamertags can only be up to 12 characters long now. Zoe The Zombie is the only one to exist, and ironically it apparently never played Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition because it has no achievements for it.
About downgrading 360 Edition: From what I remember trying, this bug is caused by having DLC packs present; I didn't experience this after removing the DLC packs. This is likely because the first version of 360 Edition didn't have DLC packs yet. I theorize 4J Studios was planning on making cape DLCs, though that wouldn't explain the broken mob textures.
Btw,I was messing around years ago and found out how to get under bedrock, you just make a nether portal and break the block the instant you walk through it, so when you get to the nether, the game tries to make a new portal under the old one, if you do that when the portal is at bedrock it spawns you underneath it
Cool video, and thanks for the mention! I found it interesting that almost nobody knew the existence of debug menus in the game. Bedrock also has those but they aren't working. I've been a long time player of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and it's very nice to see content on these wonderful old versions of the game.
Hello, Longtime LCE and Speedrunner here! To give an insight about Console Edition's World Generation, it's very weird. Depending on the console and seed, every Edition won't exactly share the same world generation. Most of the time, it'll have one thing in this Edition, but another Edition won't have said thing. A good example is Stronghold Generation. The Xbox Editions of the game share the same Stronghold generation, leading to the same layout every time. The first ever 12 Eye Seed was found on the Xbox One Edition of the game that, when played on Xbox 360 Edition, will generate the exact same layout, while adding some Aquatic features. If you try to play this seed on lets say PS3 Edition, the Stronghold will generate on a completely different spot, meaning the portal will not be a 12 eye. Some consoles may share near identical World Gen, but with some small differences. Reloading the exact same seed or multiple seeds on different worlds causes a glitch the speedrunning community calls "World Corruption" to alter the world generation in which can remove structures or even change the stronghold layout in rare cases. The true cause for this glitch is unknown, but what we know is that LCE has some very strange World Gen. If you like to check out the 12 Eye seed for yourself (If you own Xbox) the seed is 27184353441555 on Small Biome Scale, Classic World Size. Hope that explains the World Generation part of the Iceberg!
There was this point a long time ago where I was playing a new world and found a cake at a dead end of a cave when I was playing 360 Edition at my cousin's house. I wrote the seed down to try and find the cake on my copy of 360 Edition, but I never got very far. All I know is I was spooked after I found that cake.
7:17 Ah, the piston chest dupe. I abused this on a bedrock realm to get more building blocks and to get max level gear. You would put an item in a chest, then activate a piston so it pushes the chest, and open it again then click on the item as soon as the piston retracted. You would have to be very quick but it was an easy dupe. It was patched eventually though.
If you don’t open a chest yet ex: dungeon chest or bonus chest and you push it with pistons the items would drop onto the ground every time but doesn’t work after you open it for the first time. ( working on Wii U not sure of others)
God i miss the console editions. Most of my minecraft memories came from these editions and i just overall miss how stable it felt compared to bedrock.
You forgot a few things: 1. The ps4 bedrock edition has an “editions” button that lets you open back legacy if you use the legacy disc 2. The legacy edition is playable on ps5, making the disc ps4 edition the only edition on new Gen Consoles plus added textures. Editions button also available on ps5 if you use the legacy ps4 disc 3. The Legacy Cake cape that was given to celebrate Xbox 360 edition to all players on a certain day. 4. The “avatar capes” that were minecon capes available on your Xbox 360 avatar. 5. If you purchased the Nintendo switch edition you can still play it in your games menu. Although it doesn’t have like any players on minigames. 6. Some stores sold digital codes for the Xbox one edition after it was discontinued but those sold out, making that old way the only way to purchase legacy edition without buying a disc second hand and sharing accounts.
You don’t need the disc to play Minecraft Legacy PS4, hell I had that “Editions” button when I had Minecraft downloaded I probably still do to be honest
@@gregoryderpwrld111 I think if you purchased the game before bedrock came to PS4 you have the editions option. If you want editions and didn't buy the game before, the only option is a used disc.
Very well put together video. A few things though: -Tumble is also playable with firework rockets and levitation potions -The elytra has a rotation animation for first person on console edition, although there is an option to disable it -did you just ignore the super flat world creation gui cause it is really good Nice video :)
The "build" in "trailer build" refers to the version of the game, presumably because there are noticeable differences from the trailer and the actual first released version of the game that there must be an earlier version or "build" of the game that they never released but used to record the trailer
Good vid, I did notice there were a few missing things here like the creeper cape, the 3ds release, the simpsons skin pack that was taken off the market an update after, the gold creeper cape that came with switch edition minecraft that was funnily enough removed and added to bedrock and got removed again.
What is the creeper cape? I didn’t add the 3Ds version because you can barely count it as a console version. I never knew it was removed, thanks for telling me. I’ve never heard of the founders cape being on Switch’s console edition, but I’ll check it out.
It was removed from Bedrock Edition shortly after it was introduced to be more exclusive. At least, that's what I guess. If you bought the cape before the Character Creator update with the Alex and Steve skins, it gave you the cape as part of the Character Creator system to be used with any classic skin/character.
Fun fact about Stampy & tutorial worlds: Title Update 19 came with a new tutorial world that featured a replica of Stampy’s base in one corner of the world
19:17 i actually rebuilt the dirt castle from the trailer on a server once and lived in it for a lot longer than i shouldve, like i watched the video and went back and forth between yt and mc to get the exact sizing and everrything
There's a few things that I remember from Xbox 360 edition back around TU1. So there was this duplication glitch using dispensers where you'd get someone to destroy the dispenser at the exact same moment that you take the items out. Very OP back in the day. Then there was a glitch where squids would float on land and fly across your world and not die unless you killed them. It was hilarious lol
I remember doing that dispenser dupe glitch and duping unbelievably large quantities of diamond blocks. Can’t believe I was 7-8 back then and now I’m 19 life has flown by
I just wanna say: 4J did Minecraft right, and to this day I still prefer legacy over bedrock. Not just because the nostalgia, but because how simple it is. Bedrock is buggy and feels so rushed and legacy is just perfected. I wish we could bring legacy back to the stores.
Great video, appreciate the nostalgia trip! The audio balancing is killing me tho, your voice was incredibly quiet, requiring me to turn the volume all the way up, then when you used sound effects or other videos (e.g. 9:34, 10:27) they were jarringly loud and basically acted as jumpscares lmao
I remember I literally edited the game files for Minecraft Wii U Edition as a kid in order to get custom skins and to make a custom version of the Battle minigame with overpowered items, like Totems of Undying and Elytras. I remember all of the chests were just stored in plaintext and even commented, so it was really easy for me to replace things. There were also a bunch of custom skinpacks and ways to make custom skinpacks. I was probably one of the first people to actually use custom skins on Wii U Edition, back then you needed to use a really complicated program to make them and they tended to break pretty easily. You also needed to run a program to patch your Minecraft game files every time you wanted to use custom skins. It was very tedious and pretty difficult, but I remember scaring quite a few of my friends with a Herobrine skin, lol
I also knew some people who figured out how to load custom modded maps into the game. Most of them were factions maps with custom villager trades for things like mob spawners, which were unobtainable. There were a few weird items which you couldn't get, for example the Spectral Arrows from Java Edition exist in the game, but they don't actually work.
the piston chest dupe refers to the bug that if you puch a generated chest (for example nether fortress chest) that you have not opend. It will move the chest but also spit out all the items that is in the chest. This can be done as many times as you want. It´s still works in the latest Xbox 360 update. (Sorry for the bad Grammar)
As a legacy player I have something I wanna add to the iceberg: The pickblock dupe glitch To begin with not alot of people know that the pick block function exists in regular minecraft, let alone legacy console edition, it starts off as unassigned, but you can change that in the controls menu, I play on Ps3 and have it set to down on the D-Pad, anyway once you assign it it'll work just like it does in java, if you look at a block and pickblock it in creative, it'll give you that block, if you're in survival it'll do the same so long as the block is in your inventory. Most of that is something most people already don't know, but now for the dupe glitch, if you pick block a block you have in your inventory (not your hotbar) and switch into an empty slot in your hotbar at the same time it'll give you a ghost block of the item, what this means is that you look like you have another one of the block in the slot you just switched to, but if you try to say, place the block, it'll vanish, the game realising it was fake, but you can do one thing, pull up your 2x2 crafting grid and use the block to make something, so you can get 8 planks of wood for just one log, the most common use of this is for infinite iron gold diamonds etc, if you have 18, let's go with diamonds, you can craft the both into blocks, place one, put the other in your inventory then do the glitch, you then can then craft the two diamond blocks into 18 diamonds while having the 9 in the one you pick blocked, you can then recraft them with a crafting table to do this infinitely. Wow that was a big paragraph for one glitch.
Would just like to point out Wiiu still has an active player base to this day, it’s just very obscure. Good video! Just missed a few key details with some things like Tumble which added levitation potions eventually
u know any way to get into the community on wii u? i still play that edition regularly but i don't have any sort of contact with anyone else that does sadly
@@vanilluhs You can find servers for Wii U on the minecraft forum, though, as far as I can tell, there's only one consistently reliable one currently up. You could also just friend people you play with in the minigames and hopefully be able to play with them, which shouldn't be difficult, given how active they are.
Couple of honorable mentions: superman: when you crouch while using the elytrs you will stick your fist out like superman Xbox 360 beta builds: these are beta builds that have been leaked and ot rebuit for Xbox 360. These can be found and are easily accessible Minecraft 3ds edition: this was a weird "legacy" edition that seems to be based off pocket edition. I believe it's last update was for woodland mansions
Surprised I couldn't find anyone talking about this but back in the old mini game lobbies (at least on Xbox 360 edition) there was a way you could glitch out of the lobby, making you completely invisible to other players. While you would be invulnerable to melee attacks from other players you were still vulnerable to projectiles. While there is a way to escape the "new" mini game lobbies I do not believe it has the same effect. Again, I'm surprised no one has talked about this since I came across it so frequently back in the day.
Man this video was nostalgic. I made many friends and memories on the legacy xbox version and it was like no other game I had played before. Seriously I feel bad for all the kids who are gonna grow up on bedrock edition they’re missing out :P ps: if you used the ewok or R2D2 skin in battle you were a cheater
World generation could also be about the biome scale settings, the “find balanced seed” option, or generation quirks like woodland mansion rates being jacked up due to the smaller world sizes.
It's probably due to the fact 3DS Edition isn't really LCE on the console, but a heavily modified fork of Bedrock Editon ported to the 3DS. While it did share some similarities to LCE, it is a completely different game.
I was conflicted about talking about the 3DS version. It wasn’t made by 4J Studios and it’s just a watered down version of old Minecraft PE. If I make a part two, then I’ll add it.
I played on Wii U the most and I remember that they added an update that gave you the option to swap A and B (this was before you could completely customize controls) and I haven't seen this documented anywhere. Edit: Something else obscure I remember is that at launch the Wii Classic Controller wasn't supported, but support for the controller was added in the same update that added the Mario Mashup Pack
15:35 The iceberg probably isn't talking about the build in the trailer, but rather the game "build" which is a common way to refer to pre-release versions of games
2:15 fun fact: this song used in the background is from the “tumble” mini game, not the battle mini game. This song is called “lickety split (tumble)” by Gareth Coker
As a user of Minecraft Legacy since 2013, and belonging to the Hispanic community I can say without doubt that this is by far one of the best Icebergs on the subject, greetings friend
@MadToons Except it is bad now, whenever someone sees that shape they'll think of nazis. you can't say "it was actually good and then.." because expecting everyone to know it was a symbol of prosperity is like saying "the nazi salute is actually a roman one". what the symbol means is pointless, it got ruined by a bunch of anti-semamtic R-Tards in the 40s. when you it, you think of horrible things done with that symbol. its a symbol of hatred that shouldn't exist anymore.
heres a little info about world gen, due to the aforementioned limited world size, alot of things had their chances to spawn increased, mostly structures, other features included smaller biomes to better fit the smaller worlds, netherwart spawning outside of fortresses, the nether being completely encased in bedrock, and while not directly related to world gen, custom superflats could be made easier with the help of a UI
if you have on xbox 360 for example an 1.13 world and delete the title update. Starting the world in an older version like beta 1.6.6, you get a entirely new map, but from that version you are currently in (that case would mean an world from beta). Anyway, the interesting thing is that if you update that newly gotten world, you see that its seed is 0. As far as i know there is no other way to get seed 0, in that case for beta 1.6.6, so that means that this process is the only way to get this world with that seed, in an only 864 x 864 sized world. did you know that?
Broo the legacy edition mini games were my shiiii I remember you could glitch out of the map by running in a slab block that was located by some stairs, you'd literally just fall through the block and explore the world outside of the lobby, it was a full world if I remember correctly
the mini games seem like a gimmick but those were so much freakin fun. they were so smooth and well made we would switch between playing battle and glide for hours
Playing Minecraft splitscreen was something else. That needs to come back. Chillin with 3 friends on the couch, snacks and drinks, just playing some good ol' console MC.
for me the chest duplication glitch worked by placing a chest, setting a piston next to it to push it, a lever and some delayed repeaters connecting the lever and piston. you would pull the lever, open the chest, and hover over the item you wanted to duplicate. right as the chest would be pushed by the piston, you would take the item out. you would then have an item in your inventory and the same item in the pushed chest. lol
My most nostalgic memories were of Minecraft 3ds edition. Exploding a bunch of TNT to crash my game, beating the Ender Dragon in Creative because it was too hard in survival, looking up good seeds, building bases and stuff, those were the days.
I have the Nintendo Switch Edition. I was so excited that MC was coming to NS that I ended up buying it day one. Same for Wii U before. So I have both digital versions and the digital version of MC NS Edition before better together.
Something odd I remember about Wii U edition sometime in early 2017 is that I was riding in a boat alongside the world border one day and just suddenly happened to slip through the border by accident. I realized I was beyond the border when I tried to get closer to land and kept getting blocked by invisible walls. I have no idea how it happened and was never able to replicate it after that to my memory (I vaguely remember another time it happened but I'm not 100% sure I didn't just imagine it). I never fought against the wall in going out of bounds at all, I just kinda passed through it seemlessly. Also, the Wii U version would just randomly crash sometimes, and you would actually have to fully restart the console to fix it.
Better clarity on “piston chest duping” for those curious about the meaning behind it If you took a sticky piston and moved a naturally spawned chest, because pistons SHOULDN’T be able to move any “entity block” it explodes the loot out of the chest, but the loot remains inside Basically go to a blacksmith, have a piston ready and spam it and a bunch of the same loot will fly out
TU19 on the PS3 was the first update I played. It's about the time when I started playing the game. Almost 8 years later, I'm still playing Minecraft regularly. I updated to Bedrock, and then ditched it after about a year, and started playing on Java.
i know bedrock used to have a piston chest dupe glitch. It revolved around grabbing the items at the right time. Maybe the console editions had/still have this glitch possibly.
I grew up with Minecraft on Xbox 360! Still can't believe I've been playing the game for over eleven years now. I wonder what my friends from Xbox Live are doing now.
7:17 the piston chest dupe was when you pushed a naturally generating chest (that hasn’t been opened) with a piston, then it just spat out its contents.
7:15 this is referring to a glitch that works on nearly every version of console edition. You can place a piston under any naturally generated chest and everytime it was pushed up and down it would dupe every item in the chest and drop all the duped items. You could create loot farms with it
7:17 the piston chest dupe is just pushing ANY naturally generated chest and it spits out its items, but interacting with the items in the chest in any way (including just opening it) stops it from working.
7:33 the piston chest dupe is when you take an unopened loot chest such as one in an end city that you haven’t opened yet and attach a sticky piston to it then pull it up and push it down with the flick of a lever to make it spit out the items inside infinitely
The Minecraft PlayStation editions additions of the mini games where always fun for me because of how fun it was to try and escape the lobby and screw around in a sort of out-of-bounds
The nether wall, balanced seed, Tutorial worlds, Mash up packs, minigames and the legacy crafting menu will soon be up there with the nether reactor core, blood obsidian and old chisle as things only the real ones remember.
piston chest dupe is where you flip a lever and pull an item out of a chest as it gets moved by a piston. this would give you the item while it stayed in the chest.
I was back handed with nostalgia when I brought up the Xbox one edition I would always hop onto that one when I was 5-6 years old this makes me want to revisit that old thing and I might will thank you for this video :)
I found my own glitch back in the day. On versions earlier than Update Aquatic, if you placed multiple nether portals in front of each other, the portal would disappear.
7:17 the glitch is if you put a piston by a structure chest like the one in a woodland mansion and push it without opening it it will drop the items you can do this over and over again
Since he addressed some glitches in the iceberg, I'd like to introduce one. There was a glitch to multiply ores and everything that had a block. I don't remember how to do it exactly. but I remember that knowledge was passed on by word of mouth, friend to friend. I just remember that we overloaded the interface and the Xbox 360 CPU for it to bug and start giving out more items.
If you find a natural chest in a structure on these versions of Minecraft, you can put a sticky piston 2 blocks above and use it, it will duplicate whatever is in the chest
7:35 the piston chest is if you put a sticky piston next to a naturally generating unlooted chest it dupes the items when you spam a lever on the piston
12:07 My online friend's friend was able to get the command block and multiple illegal items like stackable armor, so you can imagine me and my friend's reaction when he showed it to us.
the beta builds for 360 never had different textures, but the earliest publicly leaked beta (from jan 2012) has a weird texture pack applied wrongly without mipmaps (textures in the distance are still default MC) by someone else and its the only version of that build that still exists. all the later leaked betas are unmodified and show what the game was really like at the time, basically just slightly unfinished TU1
I can’t be bothered to check the comments to see if someone pointed this out already but the duped crafting UI is probably that you could change the ui to the more classic ui in settings
I hope it blows up so everyone can see it ♥
and yes 1.14 console edition means the the 1.14 equivalent for PS4. The reason I put that on there is because not alot of people knew PS4 got 1.14.
dang it, i’m 2 weeks late. i was gonna mention these
LFG thank you for being someone who knows lce secrets AND speedrunning stuff
Well i knew it. I seen vids of ps4 console edition.

I think world generation refers to the fact that, on the xbox 360 edition, tu0 - tu4 had identical world generation to java edition versions beta 1.6.6/beta 1.7.3.
The seed for the xbox 360 tu1 - tu4 tutorial world is:

If you load that seed on minecraft java edition versions beta 1.2 through 1.7.3, it will have the exact same terrain generation as that original tutorial world.
Deleting download data will not send you to tu0 if you owned the disc
I was stuck on that edition when I had no router
I expected the iceberg to contain the scrapped 4th gamemode. 4j studios wanted to add a building gamemode to the game but I think they didn't had time
Couldn't you just use Creative mode? Or was this supposed to have special building features?
@@LegoLoco7 from what they’re saying I’m guessing it was some kind of build competition gamemode but don’t take this as a fact it’s just an un educated guess :/
They need to bring back Minecraft legacy
They won't do it sadly. Bedrock's mtx system is just too profitable for Microsoft for them to go back to an older version.
good news i own it
"The PS3 Beta builds exist but you'll never find it," bruh.
As if all the other console editions never had non-public beta builds, like they just wrote all the code for the final version in one go and published it
1:38 my dude just spent 2 levels and possibly chipped the anvil to repair a wooden pickaxe in a way that could have been done for free in the crafting grid
imma be honest, I forgot that you can repair with the crafting grid.
There is some obscure stuff I know about legacy edition that wasn’t in this video, I remember playing it at least before TU12, so I’ll put them here since I think some people would find them interesting…
Before you could use sideways logs, there was a glitch you could do with a redstone contraption that looked sorta like a TNT launcher that would glitch wood blocks to look sideways or even have the bark texture on all sides, to get it in you would build the contraption in creative and then switch to survival to mine it and go back into creative to use it forever.
Haha the renaming diamonds brought back memories
About downgrading 360 Edition: From what I remember trying, this bug is caused by having DLC packs present; I didn't experience this after removing the DLC packs. This is likely because the first version of 360 Edition didn't have DLC packs yet. I theorize 4J Studios was planning on making cape DLCs, though that wouldn't explain the broken mob textures.
The skin pack glitch was real. I remember doing it for I believe skin pack 2 to play as a creeper skin
Yes, I remember using the Halloween pack to build some forest thing, inviting people, then spawning (sl)endermen for them to fight.
The debug menus do work, they need hex patching apparently
@@ItsMwamOffi True. I haven't seen anyone get them working though.
I do want to explore the Bedrock Debugging features more. I have seen some already, but I don't think I've seen anyone get it working.
YOOO ALEXIS
It was patched eventually though.
wow cheater

God i miss the console editions. Most of my minecraft memories came from these editions and i just overall miss how stable it felt compared to bedrock.
You forgot a few things:
1. The ps4 bedrock edition has an “editions” button that lets you open back legacy if you use the legacy disc
2. The legacy edition is playable on ps5, making the disc ps4 edition the only edition on new Gen Consoles plus added textures. Editions button also available on ps5 if you use the legacy ps4 disc
6. Some stores sold digital codes for the Xbox one edition after it was discontinued but those sold out, making that old way the only way to purchase legacy edition without buying a disc second hand and sharing accounts.
the xbox one edition is also playable on the xbox series x (I have it)
@@milkshake7776 can confirm
You don’t need the disc to play Minecraft Legacy PS4, hell I had that “Editions” button when I had Minecraft downloaded
I probably still do to be honest
@@gregoryderpwrld111 I think if you purchased the game before bedrock came to PS4 you have the editions option. If you want editions and didn't buy the game before, the only option is a used disc.
@@lance_374 That’s some bullshit
Very well put together video. A few things though:
-Tumble is also playable with firework rockets and levitation potions
-The elytra has a rotation animation for first person on console edition, although there is an option to disable it
-did you just ignore the super flat world creation gui cause it is really good
Nice video :)
I also remember that the Herobrine skin was deleted, at least on ps3...
@@freebiedoesupscales I know it has a name, I was talking about it without saying the name because OP mentioned "gold creeper cape".
N3ds edition is a fork of Pocket Edition/Bedrock, it is not legacy console.
Minecraft Wii U Edition was my first time playing Minecraft. Even now I go back and visit my old worlds sometimes.
Fun fact about Stampy & tutorial worlds:
Title Update 19 came with a new tutorial world that featured a replica of Stampy’s base in one corner of the world
19:17
i actually rebuilt the dirt castle from the trailer on a server once and lived in it for a lot longer than i shouldve, like i watched the video and went back and forth between yt and mc to get the exact sizing and everrything
Can’t believe I was 7-8 back then and now I’m 19 life has flown by
I just wanna say:
4J did Minecraft right, and to this day I still prefer legacy over bedrock. Not just because the nostalgia, but because how simple it is. Bedrock is buggy and feels so rushed and legacy is just perfected. I wish we could bring legacy back to the stores.
Legacy would’ve been better than bedrock if it had infinite worlds but the ps4/xbox one had big enough worlds
@@staringcorgi64755120 by 5120 isn’t enough for you idk what will
Great video, appreciate the nostalgia trip! The audio balancing is killing me tho, your voice was incredibly quiet, requiring me to turn the volume all the way up, then when you used sound effects or other videos (e.g. 9:34, 10:27) they were jarringly loud and basically acted as jumpscares lmao
Sorry about that, I’m improving on it in my newer videos.
Pretty sure the huge underwater build in the 1.13 tutorial world is meant to be a previous tutorial world that got flooded
the piston chest dupe refers to the bug that if you puch a generated chest (for example nether fortress chest) that you have not opend. It will move the chest but also spit out all the items that is in the chest. This can be done as many times as you want. It´s still works in the latest Xbox 360 update. (Sorry for the bad Grammar)
On Where Are We Now, the reason it's included here is because Console Edition was the only version to not change its name to Wait
Man legacy edition on the xbox 360, ps3 just hit different
As a legacy player I have something I wanna add to the iceberg: The pickblock dupe glitch
To begin with not alot of people know that the pick block function exists in regular minecraft, let alone legacy console edition, it starts off as unassigned, but you can change that in the controls menu, I play on Ps3 and have it set to down on the D-Pad, anyway once you assign it it'll work just like it does in java, if you look at a block and pickblock it in creative, it'll give you that block, if you're in survival it'll do the same so long as the block is in your inventory.
I'd say Switch Edition is more obscure since it was so short lived and has no physical version
u know any way to get into the community on wii u? i still play that edition regularly but i don't have any sort of contact with anyone else that does sadly
Funny guy
They also added fireworks, which if you ask me are better because it takes actual amounts of skill to transcend layers
@@vanilluhs You can find servers for Wii U on the minecraft forum, though, as far as I can tell, there's only one consistently reliable one currently up. You could also just friend people you play with in the minigames and hopefully be able to play with them, which shouldn't be difficult, given how active they are.
Couple of honorable mentions: superman: when you crouch while using the elytrs you will stick your fist out like superman
Xbox 360 beta builds: these are beta builds that have been leaked and ot rebuit for Xbox 360. These can be found and are easily accessible
Minecraft 3ds edition: this was a weird "legacy" edition that seems to be based off pocket edition.
Seriously I feel bad for all the kids who are gonna grow up on bedrock edition they’re missing out :P
ps: if you used the ewok or R2D2 skin in battle you were a cheater
The Yoda skin is cheating and you all know it
@LB5 looking back at it, the game was technically pay 2 win with those Star Wars skins lol
The players who used the Steve Tuxedo skin 🍷🗿
This video's volume is so low
Another neat thing about legacy console edition is that in the aquatic update tutorial world, you could get functioning barrier blocks
I never played any of these versions but I was always fascinated by them whenever I saw them on YT. It's a shame they're discontinued.
World generation could also be about the biome scale settings, the “find balanced seed” option, or generation quirks like woodland mansion rates being jacked up due to the smaller world sizes.
nice to see a ton of minecraft legacy love recently, surprised the 3ds version wasn't mentioned. good video regardless!
For me, the Wii u edition was my first console experience, and i still love it
I miss battle mode so much, used to have tournaments with my friends and siblings
15:47 It's not scrapped GUI actually! You can disable the crafting menu in the settings (which is how I usually play to this day).
I still have and play this version to this day.
15:35
The iceberg probably isn't talking about the build in the trailer, but rather the game "build" which is a common way to refer to pre-release versions of games
2:15 fun fact: this song used in the background is from the “tumble” mini game, not the battle mini game. This song is called “lickety split (tumble)” by Gareth Coker
I knew this off by heart so I knew it was wrong

heres a little info about world gen, due to the aforementioned limited world size, alot of things had their chances to spawn increased, mostly structures, other features included smaller biomes to better fit the smaller worlds, netherwart spawning outside of fortresses, the nether being completely encased in bedrock, and while not directly related to world gen, custom superflats could be made easier with the help of a UI

if you have on xbox 360 for example an 1.13 world and delete the title update.
Broo the legacy edition mini games were my shiiii
I remember you could glitch out of the map by running in a slab block that was located by some stairs, you'd literally just fall through the block and explore the world outside of the lobby, it was a full world if I remember correctly
15:28 i think by "build" they meant the prototype build of the game used in a trailer, not a build that was made in the game
this is such an underrated channel
What an amazing video! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
FINALLY, SOMEONE DID IT! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LEGACY CONSOLE EDITION!!
the mini games seem like a gimmick but those were so much freakin fun. they were so smooth and well made we would switch between playing battle and glide for hours
Playing Minecraft splitscreen was something else. That needs to come back. Chillin with 3 friends on the couch, snacks and drinks, just playing some good ol' console MC.
8:14 You punching the zombie to death reminded me of a similar situation of the same tutorial world that happened to me years ago.
for me the chest duplication glitch worked by placing a chest, setting a piston next to it to push it, a lever and some delayed repeaters connecting the lever and piston. you would pull the lever, open the chest, and hover over the item you wanted to duplicate. right as the chest would be pushed by the piston, you would take the item out. you would then have an item in your inventory and the same item in the pushed chest.
Better clarity on “piston chest duping” for those curious about the meaning behind it
If you took a sticky piston and moved a naturally spawned chest, because pistons SHOULDN’T be able to move any “entity block” it explodes the loot out of the chest, but the loot remains inside
Basically go to a blacksmith, have a piston ready and spam it and a bunch of the same loot will fly out
TU19 on the PS3 was the first update I played.
A big hit of nostalgia came in while watching the video
10:08 5120 by 5120*
7:33 the piston chest dupe is when you take an unopened loot chest such as one in an end city that you haven’t opened yet and attach a sticky piston to it then pull it up and push it down with the flick of a lever to make it spit out the items inside infinitely
The Minecraft PlayStation editions additions of the mini games where always fun for me because of how fun it was to try and escape the lobby and screw around in a sort of out-of-bounds
Hits differently :( I miss those days
god im getting a lot of nostalgia from this
The one thing I miss about that version was being able to craft enchanted golden apples
The nether wall, balanced seed, Tutorial worlds, Mash up packs, minigames and the legacy crafting menu will soon be up there with the nether reactor core, blood obsidian and old chisle as things only the real ones remember.
piston chest dupe is where you flip a lever and pull an item out of a chest as it gets moved by a piston. this would give you the item while it stayed in the chest.
this video is gonna make me cry i loved these, these bring me memories man
I was back handed with nostalgia when I brought up the Xbox one edition I would always hop onto that one when I was 5-6 years old this makes me want to revisit that old thing and I might will thank you for this video :)
I found my own glitch back in the day. On versions earlier than Update Aquatic, if you placed multiple nether portals in front of each other, the portal would disappear.
Man hearing that so many people started on console makes me feel old..
Oh no, the nostalgia...
7:17 the glitch is if you put a piston by a structure chest like the one in a woodland mansion and push it without opening it it will drop the items you can do this over and over again
tysm for making this; as a 360 edition player, i genuinely didn't know some of these
Since he addressed some glitches in the iceberg, I'd like to introduce one. There was a glitch to multiply ores and everything that had a block. I don't remember how to do it exactly. but I remember that knowledge was passed on by word of mouth, friend to friend. I just remember that we overloaded the interface and the Xbox 360 CPU for it to bug and start giving out more items.
15:48 you can toggle classic crafting on which will enable the java crafting menu
Actualy, the last updates were 1.13 except for the switch edition and xbox 360 edition.
Thank you for making this, I commented this before watching so I hope all my questions get answered
There is a bug in legacy console edition where if you die from too many mobs being on 1 block, the death message will just be the player's name
If I didnt look at your sub count then I wouldve assumed that you had a bunch of subs. Good Job!
I got started on legacy console and I miss when it was updated frequently

My online friend's friend was able to get the command block and multiple illegal items like stackable armor, so you can imagine me and my friend's reaction when he showed it to us.
Awesome! I didn’t know there was a legacy console iceberg.
the beta builds for 360 never had different textures, but the earliest publicly leaked beta (from jan 2012) has a weird texture pack applied wrongly without mipmaps (textures in the distance are still default MC) by someone else and its the only version of that build that still exists. all the later leaked betas are unmodified and show what the game was really like at the time, basically just slightly unfinished TU1
I can’t be bothered to check the comments to see if someone pointed this out already but the duped crafting UI is probably that you could change the ui to the more classic ui in settings
