Then there's that one leathery hoodie that has a version without and with a shirt inside, that shows the stomach, and instead of letting you dye the outer black layer and the inner magenta layer separately, they still kept it dyeing the whole thing, and just added dye for the belt that was previously undyeable. I've noticed a trend overall where, whatever was previously dyeable before, they didn't touch at all, and only added details that were undyeable as channel 2, rather than trying to separate objects from channel 1 when fitting.

with the old items I think they had some limitations to what they can make the 2nd channel for, whether that be because of spaghetti coding or that they didn't want to significantly change how peoples glams used to look like. I feel like since all the old glams were designed with only 1 channel in mind, adding a second one was more like "this part didn't use to get dyed so let's add the 2nd channel here" rather than take the part that already did dye with the first channel and separate it into 2

It very much depends on the hardware if 99 is better than 100. Usually 99 shoul be worse. The card starts using dynamic resolution scaling which in itself uses a lot of computation power.. so you can actually get a performance dip. All the resolution scaling and AI texture stuff is complicated and extremely dependant on individual hardware.. so the best tip is to just.. try..
I also noticed that FSR is way more defined and have better anti-aliasing than DLSS. DLSS btw have a much better scaling on distant objects and less ghostly artifacts. Its all a question of taste more than performance. Obviously if you don't have a Nvidia card can't chose, but don't worry abou it, FSR works great.
Haha, yeah, I love how my Elezens Face looks now, but at the same time I have glamoured the crystal tower tank set (WoL), wich did not age that well - but I just love that set so much, nothing I can do about that. :P
I️ was a blm main. I’m going picto. I’m tired of watching 3 different timers while also watching for my health and the mechanics. Having to move constantly while also trying to cast long casts is no longer fun for me.
I’ve been playing pictomancer through the story, and from watching your media tour video about it? I thought it was going to be a complicated job, but after playing? It’s really fun and simple! I’m sure there are proper rotations to maximize your damage, but I feel like it’s hard to be a bad pictomance, as long as your prepping your motif’s before each fight and choosing proper moments to ready your next motif during the fights? You’ll be fine
MSQ uses too many story concepts from older expansions, has some unlogical moments, too many hot dudes compared to hot chics (especially during the 1st 3/4 of the MSQ, later it gets slightly better), too many slice of slice moments compared to action.. ... its definitely "worse" than the recent expansions, but I still enjoyed it overall
I think you'll have a much better time with this expansion taking your time and doing it at a casual pace. Let yourself marinate in it, farm FATEs, do the yellow quests - there are a number of linked questlines that are really interesting!
Remember zepla for your after completing msq: you originally went in with the hopes for a beach episode. Can't wait to see your thoughts after you complete the msq!
I also spent first few days doing picto and viper and haven't started MSQ yet. I 100% agree about Viper, at low levels it is absolutely horrendous experience, you're missing almsost all the buttons, and no reawaken really hurts. I think I'm going to take Viper through MSQ so that way I won't have to suffer throug much level sync content, and if i decide to play it more seriously this expansion, it would be for level DT level capped stuff.
I love smudge. Smudge is best for exploration since it gives you an additional 5 seconds sprint for the cost of only 20 seconds cooldown lol it's broken for exploring 😂
I agree with you about the part where I need to have fun buttons at low level, that's what makes me even more worry of their "rework" already planned for Viper. If you remove the positionnal, honnestly what's left at those levels ?
I absolutely love Dawntrail's story, new areas, music, and the graphics update! I'm at level 99 MSQ and it has been an amazing journey so far. Once I finish the main story I plan to level up Viper and Picto. Shoutout to Yoshi-P and the team for making probably my fav expac other than Shadowbringers!
@@lemontonk Pacing issues, lack of development for many important characters, scions are completely irrelevent to the story to the point they might as well not be there, Wuk Lamat is omnipresent in the story to the point you can hear her voice in your dreams yet her character arc still manages to feel rushed and she never has to challenge her own worldview despite its glaring flaws. There are great moments and I had fun overall. But I think we should always be critical of the things we love.
@@TajinQ look thats fine. i still fucking love it tho. i can absolutely acknowledge that you have some points but i really enjoyed wuk lamts story and the world of tural. i dont agree on pacing issues but i def agree on the twins being only there to fill trust parties. imo thats fine tho because the story isnt about them in the first place? its about wuk lamat, erenville, krile, and the other claimants which all had great arc imo. the story focusing on someone other than the scions is not a problem in my eyes seeing as we just got 4 expansions with them right at the center of them.
One thing that really bothered me was that the Fierce Tyrant's set wasn't double dyeable. I came back to the game kinda late in the season with my wife, and I was like, well I don't really get why they made the metal bits dyeable and not that shoddy @ss red cloth on the set...but, since they are bringing out double dyes in dawntrail, I'll be able to dye it anyways, so me and my wife pushed through the season. Then dawntrail was released, and they didn't make the cloth part dyeable. So I was disappointed with that. I don't think I will use the set without the cloth being dyeable.
Bought the expansion. Haven’t played much at all in the last year. Still have to finish Endwalker Subterranean MSQ for Golbez. Not really in a hurry and will take my time with Dawntrails.
The MSQ made me stop playing. I have not been able get past the first few hours because the cutscenes actually make me doze off. That is not an exaggeration, I really do fall asleep.
The lack of buttons for low level dungeon is the biggest reason that early game feels so sluggish and makes getting early dungeons so boring. I just want my buttons even if damage was weak.
As someone that tried levelling picto in Bozja, I wouldn't recommend it. Post 80 bozja exp isn't amazing, but the real reason it sucks is that everyone there is viper or picto right now, there's almost no tanks or healers. So skirmishes are miserable, and in general the hordes of vipers kill stuff fast, while your cast timers are less than ideal, so if you don't find a party you're going to be miserable. I did it to about 83 before just accepting that was a trash idea and just focused on roulettes, challenge logs, and getting some extra fates in EW zones i'd neglected to max out.
can't you just type lfg in shout chat? and I'm sure there are many people acting as tanks with the special actions so that shouldn't be an issue either
@@kiiturii I tried bozja during early access. Basically no one was in Zadnor and the majority of people I encountered in Bozja seemed to have just unlocked it, so they lacked actions and most weren't even using essences, and most also didn't know how to do the skirmishes so it was just a miserable experience. Maybe now there's more experienced people that you can flee to Zadnor and be fine, but I know I don't want to go back to bozja until the picto viper spam dies down.
@@Abyssionknight interesting, you might have gotten an unlucky instance or been on at off-hours, I personally didn't go to zadnor but from what I heard it was completely packed, a friend of mine was getting crazy lag with all the people there
Everyone keeps talking about the AMD FSR being clearer and crisper, I find DLSS to be better overall though. AMD FSR is *too* crisp - DLSS may be slightly blurrier but it fixes a lot of the aliasing, especially the shimmering pixels on foliage.
The shorts you showcased for the 2 dye channel problems aren't a great example since there isn't a belt there to begin with. That's all the same fabric.
so I'm not the only one with this issue, my eyes look so bad in the portraits, they don't even look anywhere near what they normally do (I'm aura as well)
@@kiiturii they did same mistake in benchmark 1.0 of forgetting updatting surround lights. so i think they will fix and now i can only build portraits with closing eyes XD
For Picto, I think the first 3 instant skill should be prem, is kind like waste of time to do again when entering new each time . As for the dye system, check out PAID mogstation High Summoner's Armlett.
Maybe it depends on your graphics card and what kind of upscaling you're using, but for me setting the 3D Resolution Scaling to 99 was NOT an improvement. At first glance it appears to make things "sharper," but it made my character's face look really weird. It made some shadows blockier, with a harder edge, rather than fading into natural gradation. It was like if you used the "Increase Image Sharpness" tool in Photoshop WAY too many times, and it ruined the picture.
On my ps4, everybody has huge shadows and bags under their eyes so I just turned the graphic update off. My main looks like she aged thirty years but only under her eyes :’D
Apps found the first half boring.A second half wasn't too bad.Overall, it still wasn't a great.I'm sorry , some of the other characters , they have had or more interesting than that
I finished the main 2 days ago. And it was fantastic. love the new content. Enjoy it young lady! I must say this is the first time I saw you. You are beautify. eep up the good work.
Simple -- the clip used is older footage from before Dawntrail, when 90 was the level cap. Look at the crystal clusters it gives you for role in need, they're the ones you traded for grade IX and X materia. It's also showing the old tomestones from before the expansion.
I'm going very slow in MSQ and overall I enjoy it a alot. The characters are lovable (even certain ones lol) and the story feels kinda boring compared to SHB and EW but they found a nice way to introduce all the new lore. The only thing I dislike is the usual "find all your wind eather to fly and then do all the fates". That system is so god damn old and boring by now, they could implement something new in that matter. Change it maybe or do something completely different. Ay and the lack of vioced cutscenes. After playing 16 I'm so used to just listen again so all this reading gets tiring and boring. I thought after making so much money with the previous expansions they should have enough money to buy more voiced CSs but apparently not. I'm not playing the game for the graphics anymore even with the new update which is awesome btw. But you still see and feel the games age in every nook and cranny. So imo they could try a bit more to keep their players in the line, i.e. with more voiced and cinematic CS. But I love the flying feature where you lean in the curve (I have no idea how to say that in english sry 😅), that's so nice and makes flying so much more natural. And huge thanks for the mount Zep ❤ Can't wait to finally find the city of gold! I did my best to dodge as much spoilers as possible so really hyped for it! ❤
I didn't even care about Erenville much till DT, but uhh... my opinion certainly changed. I'll certainly be tuning in to see her reaction to the finale.
Viper is fun until you get it to 90 and cant solo anything in Tural because you have no damage mitigation or self heals that can even come close to keeping you alive. Pictomancer is just ass because its pictomancer.
MSQ is probably the most boring so far. Wuk Lamat one of the worst charactes is the whole game. With that out of the way, they did an incredible job on the new zones. Surely the graphical update made everything look prettier but idk, the design of the new zones is also fun to explore. The music is amazing. I didn't enjoyed EW's soundtrack. It didn't captured me. But this one really fits the adventure vibe of the expansion. So far I've only played Ninja and Dragoon and they feel good. With how much there is to build upon, I can't wait to see what the extra content is going to be like.
@@itsspookie bad take. world building doesn't have to mean boring. shadowbringers was quite literally world building an entire dimension we'd never been to before, and was well received because it was engaging, the characters fleshed out and the plot coherent and evenly paced. 2/3rds of the DT could have been beast tribe story quests with awful pacing, low stakes, cartoony characters and cheesy dialogue. No one has an issue with world building, people have issues with boring, badly written stories.
@DaVinci-wt6dp Shadowbringers was built up from Crystal Tower and bits of Slices In Heavensward & Stormblood. You're insane yo say otherwise. ARR is the foundation of FFXIV and is arguably boring. Quit crying on a single patch that has 2 years to develop
@@DaVinci-wt6dpgotta agree 😂 it had its up and downs for me. Started out ok then got a little boring and exciting toward the end. Characters were a little meh compared to past expansions. But it’s the beginning so I wasn’t expecting it to be spectacular. It definitely reminds me of side quest/beast tribe stuff. The dungeons and boss fights were crazy fun though.
@@itsspookie You can have a totally new world and have it be exciting. Nier games, Dragon age origins, Baldur's gate. I could go on and on. Instead we are stuck with an annoying catwoman who can't shut up about "Loving her people" and walking 5 meters between unvoiced cutscenes using default emotes.
No spoilers - the only disappointment of the MSQ for me was that a lot of scenes are text-only. I love the voice acting, so when it's missing it's noticeable.
I would argue that you cant judge the upgrade until you have seen a couple of the new zones. Thats were you really can see that they are not targeting ancient Hardware from 15 years ago (for performance) anymore. Also: The UI in FF is still shit as ever and I dont understand why I need to interact with the game like it was Windows 3.11. Seriously, they need to fire some employees.
I definitely hope Viper doesn't go the way of SMN. Nothing has felt like quite as big a letdown for me as falling in love with a class BEACAUSE it's busy, getting the aesthetic change we'd been wanting for a decade, and then having the gameplay changed into the most mindless/autopiloted content in the game. I wish they actually released new jobs at lvl 1. I miss levelling in those starting zones...
Maybe Beast Master will start at level 1 like Blue Mage did?
@@cutecats532 with a level cap of 50 no doubt
Yea but that would they’d have to build the job with that in mind. Which is a good thing tbh but they dont wanna do it and people are lazy. Would also mean new players are gated beyond belief. 30 or even 50 is better but get used to jobs being horrible to 10 levels at a time
It very much depends on the hardware if 99 is better than 100.
The weather now looks amazing.
I hope they update some minions fur texture. My tiny troll needs more love
I've got an RTX 4090 and I found that DLSS worked better for me, so it may vary by card?
I love using picto dash to get around the city. The questline made me shed a tear T-T
Zepla, are you getting cuter and cuter by the years? How is it even possible?! AYAYA
As a dnc main i feel ya, cant tell ya how many times ive tried en avant myself out of trouble on another job 😆
Very addicting
My pups hate the fireworks. I do love the pictomancer.
Viper is the kind of fighting style I always love in games, so not really a question for me.
I love smudge. Smudge is best for exploration since it gives you an additional 5 seconds sprint for the cost of only 20 seconds cooldown lol it's broken for exploring 😂
Main Scenario Roulette on Picto is CRAZY. double pom muse -> mog of ages burst completely deletes packs
I just can't pick it up cause I won't be able to put it down but glad to see your having fun.
My only change to PCT would be to give it one low level AoE attack I think it’s Toto Rak before you get any AoE spells
I agree with you about the part where I need to have fun buttons at low level, that's what makes me even more worry of their "rework" already planned for Viper. If you remove the positionnal, honnestly what's left at those levels ?
Pictos so OP they be taking emnity
4:55 Oh my God, its a straight-up Titanic Rainbow Attack!! 🐤
When comes full review?
Me impatiently waiting to watch content creators play the MSQ as I struggle to get through it.
It was probably just an oversight that the term filter is case sensitive because, as far as I'm aware, Japanese doesn't have capital letters.
It's not my fave but I love it.The actual content PVE wise are the best the games had.
Sames, I've been adoring exploring Tural!! I find this expansion so immersive!!
The areas and music are beautiful. I had such a good, relaxing time with the game
@@CTN404 Urqopacha has been my favorite so far 🥰
Everything other than the MSQ has been surprisingly good. MSQ however is… well it’s something. Might even be something else.
It has some really good things going. But there's major issues holding it down.
Dawntrail: Wuk Lmao's journey
msq is fucking amazing
Ooooh you're gonna LOVE the new WHM. dash.
We never have enough opportunity for the fun button to press
Ive been loving the MSQ, I hope you have fun!! I cant wait to see how you like the combat duties!!
Same.
how does she change the cOLOUR OF THE UI WHAT
More like Yawntrail. I hate it. It's sooo boring, the main character is lackluster (to say the least). I've already cancelled my subscription.
Dawntrail didn't give us additional glamour plates so we could have a unique glamour for every job still, so it's basically unplayable.
just keep the glam gear with you and glam them individually then save to gear set
all my glamour plates are just for quick out fit changes. but i see ur point that would be better

That's all the same fabric.
if they fix the highlight of eyes in portrait, especially for aura, this will be a perfect dlc for a new starting lol
so I'm not the only one with this issue, my eyes look so bad in the portraits, they don't even look anywhere near what they normally do (I'm aura as well)
@@kiiturii they did same mistake in benchmark 1.0 of forgetting updatting surround lights. so i think they will fix and now i can only build portraits with closing eyes XD
For Picto, I think the first 3 instant skill should be prem, is kind like waste of time to do again when entering new each time .
As for the dye system, check out PAID mogstation High Summoner's Armlett.
Nothing irritates me more than someone pulling immediately as the party loads into a duty. Like let me play with paints for a bit please ❤️

I can't believe I'm ahead of you, Zep
Maybe it depends on your graphics card and what kind of upscaling you're using, but for me setting the 3D Resolution Scaling to 99 was NOT an improvement. At first glance it appears to make things "sharper," but it made my character's face look really weird. It made some shadows blockier, with a harder edge, rather than fading into natural gradation. It was like if you used the "Increase Image Sharpness" tool in Photoshop WAY too many times, and it ruined the picture.
Hey zepla any news on the payment methods fix at all 😢?
On my ps4, everybody has huge shadows and bags under their eyes so I just turned the graphic update off. My main looks like she aged thirty years but only under her eyes :’D
It's been super fun so far!
Apps found the first half boring.A second half wasn't too bad.Overall, it still wasn't a great.I'm sorry , some of the other characters , they have had or more interesting than that
They could Bring back the ancients who were more interested in than what they put in
All jobs that lose the gimmick when you down sync is are the worst. They need to just make it where you have all buttons but the damage is downgraded
I finished the main 2 days ago. And it was fantastic. love the new content. Enjoy it young lady! I must say this is the first time I saw you. You are beautify. eep up the good work.
So i have the same FSR issue with a NVidia card. Take it one step farther set your 3d resolution to 99 instead of 100 and watch what happens.
Picks picto for the dash mobility, has to stand still half the time casting
the only question that matters.. WHEN CHAT BUBBLES???
I only just started MSQ a few days ago with my (in game ;-;) wife, myself xD
Also, it seems to be a unanimous thought that people want to eat the aetherytes lol
Casual players have a hard time with busy classes. Which is said. I miss complexity.
Dancer dash is endgame o7
Im confused. Why is your roulette screen showing 50/60/70/80 and 90 Dungeons instead of the combined "High Level Dungeon"?
I think it's because Zep hasn't done MSQ dungeons yet! I'm unsure if this is the actual reason but it's my guess since she hasn't touched the MSQ
@@courtyardsys nah, I only did the first MSQ dungeon this evening and it's been listed as "High Level Dungeon" for me since early access opened
Simple -- the clip used is older footage from before Dawntrail, when 90 was the level cap. Look at the crystal clusters it gives you for role in need, they're the ones you traded for grade IX and X materia.
It's also showing the old tomestones from before the expansion.
@@0Fyrebrand0 correct.
haven't done the MSQ? you sweet summer child.. i'm sorry.
And huge thanks for the mount Zep ❤
Can't wait to finally find the city of gold! I did my best to dodge as much spoilers as possible so really hyped for it! ❤
Was sad to see the pvp set still not getting two dyes 😒
I cannot wait for you to see certain Erenville cutscenes. Literally all I could think about while playing.
I didn't even care about Erenville much till DT, but uhh... my opinion certainly changed. I'll certainly be tuning in to see her reaction to the finale.
my hrothgal eyes are very dimmed ngl...
I finished Dawntrail MSQ in like 2 days to avoid spoilers
Lots of world building once again, reminds me of ARR
It reminded me more of Stormblood! And Stormblood is perhaps my personal favorite still!
"MSQ less"
Squeenix heard that in the boardroom and said "say less"
Feels like more of the same to me except the MSQ isn't very good. I hate being negative but it might be time to dip. This formula is stale.
Oo, the MSQ video will be spicy, I can already tell. It feels like they unlearned the mistakes they made since ARR.
Blows my mind the opinions people have for a world building story
Please try to appeal to the players that already play the class. 😭
Pct is about to get nerfed soon bc the dmg out is nuts
