I really hope you enjoy this tutorial. I loved making these cupcakes. If you're looking for roses that are a little firmer or a little bit bigger to add onto larger cakes then I've popped the link to a gumpaste rose tutorial in the video description.
thank you for showing us how to make roses and flowers and leaves without any tools it makes it much easier for those of us that don't have complete sets of tools yet one of the greatest videos yet thank you for sharing and keep on caking
Hi Lorraine, You are so welcome, I'm so glad you like it. I know that it can sometimes be hard to make some of the other flowers without the correct cutters and veiners, so I'm glad this one is useful. I really wanted to show that even with only the smallest amount of tools it's still possible to make pretty flowers for cakes x x
Those were gorgeous. My 4 yr old granddaughter Kristina was really wowed by them. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and showing how to make them. Kristina and I are trying them tomorrow. Happy Valentine's Day. 💖💖🌹🌹
Wow... your fondant roses are absolutely beautiful!! I will definitely be trying to make these. I learned all I know from your chanel, including how to pipe lovely buttercream swirls! Thankyou for sharing your talent with us 💖
Hi Lynz, thank you for another great tutorial. I usually make my roses in flowerpaste but like the idea of them being more edible on a cup cake but can I ask how long will these last? Or how long in advance can I make them befoe adding to cakes? Thank you
Thank you so much for this. Your videos are so helpful. I’m going to give this a try. Please can let me know if the fondant needs to dry out overnight or can it be eaten straight away once I have placed them on the cake? Thanks
Hi, I am so glad you enjoyed the tutorial. In terms of the fondant it can be eaten straight away. I left these flowers until they had firmed up enough that they were keeping their shape, but then once placed on the cupcakes, they can be eaten right away.
Hi Charlie, The fondant flowers will always dry out a little but even after 1 day the fondant will have dried enough to hold its shape, but will always remains quite soft when you bite into it. If you're making them in advanced just make sure you store your cupcakes in a cool dry place, else the fondant if put in an air tight container can sweat, which will make them loose their shape. I usually make cupcakes the day before they are needed to give me time to make them.
Hi Bianca, There is not a simple answer when talking about working out pricing for peoples selling cakes. If you are looking to sell cupcakes like this, it would depend on a few factors, including where you are based, how much your ingredients cost as these can differ in different countries, how much experience you have, and what type of cake business you have as your overheads might be different to a different cake maker. When working out pricing always start with how much the ingredients cost for you to make the cupcakes, how much time it will take you to make them and any additional money you need to add to cover overheads. I really hope this helps.
Hi Becky, They do take a little while to make, but I find you do get quicker the more you practice and as these flowers are quite small and don't require wires in the petals, they are alot quicker than making gumpaste flowers to add onto larger cakes. In regards to the fondant I have found different brands can taste quite different. I personally really like the taste of fondant on cakes, so maybe try a different brand and see if there is a different one you like more. For these I used Renshaw Fondant.

Hello can u tel me how to make fondant icing?
So gorgeous :)
Really beautiful. Could we use modeling chocolate for this?
Yes you could definitely use modelling chocolate too. I'm so glad you like them.
Could you make these 1-2 days before or do they have to be made on the day so the icing doesn't dry out and go hard? 🥰

Guys, really quick question! Fondant gets really hard and crust eventually when you decorate them like this. Is there any way around that?

This would take forever if you did 12 or 24! And Fondant doesn't taste very good!
