Hey everyone, hope you enjoyed this flower video. Have you seen our How to pipe buttercream camellia flower video yet ? ua-cam.com/video/9stNIo4vDI8/v-deo.html
This was not only educational, but the way you explain it, and your soft voice, is something I could listen to all day long. Your voice is so soothing! Thank you so much for these videos - you have a new subscriber.
Aww thanks GenieKR. So glad you've joined us and thanks for the kind words. I.m a fan of calm and soothing when I'm learning and when I'm working so I try to channel my inner Bob Ross when I'm teaching! Lots of Happy little flowers.
Love the explanations and drawing of which tips to use so I can screenshot it so I don’t have to ‘guess again’ which tips I need! (I’m terribly forgetful!) I’ve just found you so looking forward to lots of different flowers! Thanks ever so much for explaining in so much detail xx
So glad you found us and are finding our videos useful, including my doodles and the level of detail. We will be making more videos for the flower series and if you have any particular kinds of flowers you want to learn let us know, we are always adding more to the list!
@@CakeDecoratingSchool hi there! Some suggestions: Roses and lilies would be fab. Also colouring buttercream for different lilies eg stargazer. Difference between colouring for eg ‘ombré’ style petals. Austin rose would be good too, and using the thin Korean petal tips v eg Wilton. A really helpful tutorial would also be how to choose flowers for cupcake bouquets- getting texture in alongside flatter flowers and height flowers. Stocks/ lavender etc look fab but daunting! Sunflowers would be cool too. Various ways to colour buttercream in the bag. Any colour combinations that *don’t* ‘go’?! Hmmm... ok... I reckon that’s the next six months of tutorials sorted! 🤣🤣🤗🤗 Thanks again. I’ve just been watching the 3D flowers; they’re fabby! They’d be cool stacked as a wedding cake to offer customers a cheaper, but still beautiful cake option (to sugar flowers)? xx
thanks for all the awesome suggestions Cheryl! I will add these to our big book of UA-cam ideas, It's always nice to actually hear what people are interested in instead of just guessing and hoping I'm making content that people want to see. I've been enjoying making the 3D flowers and you are so right they would be awesome on a wedding cake and the piped buttercream is always more cost effective than the gumpaste! Happy Decorating!
Seriously the very best teaching and information as an instructor I have ever seen. I'm an instructor myself for cake decorating classes and I love your techniques. Thank you. You are amazing 👏
thanks Brenda, it means a lot to get that kind of praise from a fellow instructor. We are so glad you are enjoying our content and the techniques. Happy Decorating!
@@CakeDecoratingSchool you are very welcome and it's very much deserved. You have a very soothing voice, your technique is spot on and your instructions are clear, and precise and to the point. Absolutely 💯 phenomenal and perfect. You should be very proud 👏 I know we are of you. Keep up the phenomenal job. Blessings to you.
Aww... you are too sweet! It's always great to hear that the kind of content you are making is what people are looking for. I always try to put myself in the position of the person who is learning and focus on how I would need things explained( I like a lot of detail!) and build my lessons from there. It's great to know that other people like it too! have an awesome week!
Hi Cathy, it took me a little while to remember where I got these. I've had them for about two years. They are listed as heat resistant but I wouldn't use them for cooking. they are perfect for color mixing which is what I bought them for. I've copied a link to the listing on Amazon for them. amzn.to/3BIsdDG note: we do earn a commission from sales
Hi! We are using a simple or American style buttercream in this video. There are many recipes available online for this type of buttercream. We reserve our recipe for our paid students. If you are interested in yearly membership to our school you can check out what it includes at our school site www.cakedecoratingschool.com to answer your second question. I have had wedding cakes survive very warm days in venues without climate control. But if it's a super hot day or environment you will most likely see some loss of definition on details like piped flowers, but that is the case with most buttercreams.
they are hard to find. I bought this one a few years ago as part of a set that was no longer available the last time I checked or I would post a link. It's one of my favorite nails to use. Sorry not to be of more help. Happy Decorating!

great question! Our frosting has butter in it so it will chill up and get firm in the fridge. We always pipe on parchment squares so that we can easily slide them off the nail when done and onto a tray. Typically they don't need more than 30 mins in the fridge and they will be firm enough to handle with our damaging your flowers and easy to place.
I got this nail as part of a set from GG Cakraft, I haven't found them anywhere else. It looks as though her piping tips sets are in stock at the moment. Not totally sure from the photos if it still includes this nail but I looks like it might. If you are here in the US I will warn you that the shipping is a bit pricy since it's shipping from Korea but, in my opinion totally worth it since I love the tips and the extras like the nail.

Beautiful! I’ve been looking for firm small spatulas for mixing frosting. Can you share about yours?

I love how you presented this, do you add any thing to make the frosting thicker?
thank you and to answer your question, no we don't add anything extra to our frosting.
Thanks
Welcome
Thank you
Amazing work! Love it! Do you have a recipe for the buttercream, pls? And would it hold up on a warm-hot day? Thanks!

Those are very pretty Dahlias! Do you sell the flower nail that has marks on it to help you with the placement pedals? I can't find them anywhere.

How do you transfer the flowers from the nail to a cake without messing up the flowers?
great question! Our frosting has butter in it so it will chill up and get firm in the fridge. We always pipe on parchment squares so that we can easily slide them off the nail when done and onto a tray. Where can I get a piping nail with the center markings

Very difficult to see , too small of examples
It's better to see on the nail.
