Thank you for this video! I am making the cake for my 30th wedding anniversary party in two days. My friend helped my teenaged daughter and me make a few gum paste roses and Stephanotis flowers and leaves. We’re so proud of ourselves and thankful for her help because I am the least artistic person I know. Lol. Your video is going to be so helpful in adding the flowers to one of my layers (they are all separate on a cake stand, since I am a novice). The others will be decorated differently. Anyway, thank you so much! Your demonstration and explanations are so helpful.
Such a great tutorial. I needed to find out how to secure the wires into the straws and how to stick them into the cake so they wont droop over a long period of time and you've answered ALL of those questions! Thank You so much! 🙏
Another brilliant video! The flowers are stunning and the shades of the flowers compliment eachother perfectly, each lending to it’s own beauty. Such a helpful video, thank you, excellent job have a wonderful day xx
Your tip to bend the wire before inserting into the straw was a game changer for me! I used to use chocolate to keep them from slipping out (you can imagine the extra time involved..ugh). The obvious solution eluded me, so THANK YOU! Your tutorials are great 🤗
I like your videos very much and I watch one of it on my lunch break every day 😂. I just wondering what you use to replace those plastic straws since now they are banned and not available in the market.
Hello! How do you get such white SMBC? The yellow in the butter (using pasteurized egg whites even more so) results in a yellow color. Do you use the technique of adding a touch of violet gel color? Is that your choice in making the color correction? Thank you!
Thank you for this video, such a help. Good explanation of why you placed the flower where you did. Need to purchase those cocktail straws. Does this method work on fondant cakes also? I enjoy all of your videos
Yes it will work great on fondant cakes! Probably easier for a beginner too since it’s not as prone to imperfections. The straws are a great help, thanks for watching Jan! :)
Thank you so much, this was so helpful and explained so well. Is the greenery inserted into the straws as well or is it placed into the cake directly? Thanks
Hi Deirdre, so glad you enjoyed! I put the greenery in the straws as well. Usually there's only a small straw for those since I don't push them very far into the cake.
Such wonderful videos! I'm making some flowers for a birthday cake. Is there an elegant way to serve the cake? Or does the birthday girl just yank out all the flowers before cutting the cake? Thank you!
Thank you :) usually if you arrange on one side you can get one nice cutting photo, then yes, just remove everything before cutting and serving the remainder
Awesome! Are the sugar flowers ever too heavy for buttercream cakes? If so, how do you handle that? Also, do you ever arrange flowers by grouping them together with floral wire and then adding them to the cake? Or do you just add flowers to the cake organically as in this video without grouping? Thanks!
I use them on buttercream cakes. I use sturdy cake recipes like butter cake and SMBC or IMBC so it can handle the weight. Yes I sometimes will group them, it depends on the design
@@maradesbois3960 Oh dear. I have one specifically for the straws but depending on where you are in the world I'm not sure how the link works. Glad you found some! :)
I usually make a sketch beforehand and know the approx size of my flowers so I can guess (it’s taken a lot of trial and error). I always make extras just in case!

Gracias por compartir tus conocimientos y por tus consejos. Me encanta tu trabajo.
I really admire how you explain everything, i like the pastil color of your flowers. Thank you so much. I learn a lot from you.
Thank you so much :)

Thankyou! Video was helpful and awesome of all videos seen for flower decoration seen so far :)
Thanks so much Aakash!
Thank you, very informative.
Very well explained and really helpful. I always find adding sugar flowers difficult. Thank you for the great tutorial. 😊
So glad you found it useful, Louisa :)
Thank you, this is so helpful. Beautiful work.
Thanks Carole! 🙌🏼
So gorgeous & so helpful thank you!

Haha thank you!! I haven’t found a solution yet but we always wrap our stems in non-toxic floral tape and I’m playing around with a food-safe wax dip
That’s a good idea. Thanks for your reply.
Thank you so much this is a big blessing for me
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Me encanta mirar tus vídeos, me harías feliz si algún día tienes subtitulado al español por favor y gracias
Very helpful, thank you.
I love your teaching style. Would love to do the course
Thanks Carlene! :) Hope to see you virtually in a course sometime!

Be sure to whip the buttercream at least 8-10min and then yes, I add a drop of violet and sometimes white food colouring as well
Magnifique

Super
That is so lovely. Although I love the look, I am wondering how the cut cake looks after poking it with so many stirrers.
I've never had a problem with it because there are only a few that go deep into the cake. The fillers/greenery are maybe 1/2-1" in

@@jodi961 That's amazing :) feel free to tag me if you share them on social media, I'd love to see!
@@FinespunCakes Done. The reception to the cake was a little disappointing. No one believed I made the flowers! Lol.

Beautiful!! how do you put the flowers on fake cakes? You also use straws? Do you make holes first or you pierce directly with the wire?. Thank you
I will sometimes make a hole if the wire is longer but usually just stick it right into the faux cake
@@FinespunCakes thank you very much for answering. You are very kind and your tutorials are fantastic. Thanks again :)
Can I put dry sugarpaste roses on wire ,into a dry fondant covered cake ,
Is the wire inside the cake food safe or do you fill or dip it in chocolate. I understand the florist tape and wire are not food safe
Hi Alexandria, I love your tutorials ❤️
What is the diameter of your straws? Standard 5mm or less? Thanks a lot!
They're less than that maybe 2mm- check the description box below for the exact link!
@@FinespunCakes I found 3 mm, it can be that 👍 Unfortunately the link goes to an Amazon page containing a lot of different stuff 😢

How to do know beforehand how many flowers you will need?

are those paper straws?
Beautiful work but the courses are so expensive to just learn one flower
Are these real flowers?
