On Long distance between 62 and 70.2 mpg using cruise control all the time. Have now ordered my third Superb. This time a SEL estate variant which I get next week. Thanks for a good review. Ok some miss information, but not enough to fault this very fair and honest review.
I think you need to say up-front that you are driving the Skoda Superb Sportline. It's the oddball of the range. Hence the 19" alloys which are the giveaway at a distance, plus the black exterior trim and black sports roof lining. This model is build on the base level Superb with a mix of spec and some extras from the rest of the range as well as Sportline trim, seats etc. Lots of extras here Tow bar an expensive extra and non standard spare wheel. I'm on my fourth Superb Estate. My favourite all round car. Three have been SE L or equivalent models; one a Sportline. The Sportline has lower suspension and with the big wheels can give a harsh drive over uneven roads. The 19" Vega wheels are standard on the Sportline. My own sweet spot is the Superb SE L and with a 1.5TSI DSG. Good, down to earth review.
What are your thoughts on the Laurin & Klement trim? Also, what is better, the estate or hatchback? Diesel or Petrol (I drive around town and dual carriageways mostly). What is your average mpg? I am looking to purchase one from 2017/2018 and would appreciate some guidance/advice.
@@TopBoi93 The LK trim has everything you would want in a Superb in terms of equipment. New they are expensive, but you should pick up a good used model at a reasonable price if you can find one.. Bear in mind that the used car market is experiencing inflated prices at the moment due to lack of good used stock. The LK should also come in 4×4 as standard ( I think I'm right on this). Personally I drive the estate. It all depends on your lifestyle. The boot is huge in both versions, but more easily accessible in the estate version. In terms of engines I now have a petrol 1.5tsi. I have had both the 2.0 diesel in both 150 and 190 ps engines. The 2.0 150 is more than adequate. I think in 2017/2018 Skoda also did a 2.0 190 psi petrol engine, which got very good reviews. It depends what mileage you will be doing as to whether diesel is necessary. I personally prefer petrol. In the diesel you will need to top up with Adblue every 3000 miles or so which is a pain. My driving is A and B roads and carriageways and I'm returning around 43mpg and around 46 mpg on longer runs. Hope this helps.

This has DSG & 4 x 4 as standard plus pretty much most of the options available at the time including a heated front windscreen. The only things mine doesn't have is a pan roof & that tow bar. I've had my engine chipped which now produces 370bhp & 488Nm of torque. It was pretty quick in standard tune but now it's a real wolf in sheep's clothing. The only drawback is the fuel consumption (which didn't change after the ECU mod). Around town 26mpg & up to 38mpg on a run & for max power it needs 99 octane fuel. That said you don't buy a 280 Superb for good fuel consumption. I don't do much mileage any more so I can live with the fuel cost. However, what I do get is more smiles per mile than any other car I've owned which surprises everyone who rides in it for it's space & pace. For me the estate is infinitely more practical & to my eyes better looking. That said the hatchback boot is not much smaller. I've driven mine down to the south of France 5 up loaded with camping gear, a roof box & bikes on top. Never missed a beat. I bought my car when it was 2.5 years old for less than half what it cost when it was new. Now, with 56k miles it's still probably worth high teens but I doubt if will be selling it any time soon because there's nothing out there that's as practical or the same value for money package.
I had the L&K Superb Estate in 2019. I agree with all the positive comments you make here. I had the flexible floor on mine and the parcel shelf fitted in between the standard boot floor and the raised floor. With the flat floor you can deffo sleep in the car! After a break from the marque I’ve just got an Octavia VRS 245 petrol, and I’m so happy to be back behind the wheel of such a well thought out car. Thanks for a great review👍🏻
My son-in-law has a 62 reg 2.0 diesel 150 hp he loves it just like a limo when I visit my uncle in the USA he had Lincoln town car the superb has more legroom and luggage space it also does more mpg
Bought a Superb sportline plus in gloss grey, 200 tdi dsg and 4 wheel drive, amazing car, 12 months old now and still "superb", it replaced a 2006 Volvo xc70 d5 , didnt like the new volvo estates as no longer decent luggage space.
Completely agree, I couldn't understand why such a long car had less boot than an Octavia combi. Then I realised that the image brigade liked the style with a very long bonnet, useless practically and ate into the boot space. So I bought an Octavia and saved 20 grand.
They have changed the engines, my 2016 on 66 plate skoda superb sel executive tdi 150 bhp, 0 to 06 is 8.8 seconds the 2021 same engine , 9.1 seconds, also mine is a euro. 6 but no add blue, the newer engine is filtered to the max, not as good.

It all depends on your budget requirements and performance. The petrol models are normally more aspirated. With regards to hatchback -V- estate. The hatchback is able, with its fifth door. However, if you are transporting, suitcases, child buggies, toys, rocking horse, and a bike, for your a week away at the country cottage, then it will need to be the estate.

Your talking like a complete amater . It's a great car ,it's a Passat with a different body but better equipped. Your knowledge of the engines and running costs is none existant.
Superb is very practical car, but Passat is better in every aspect except boot size (-10L) and rear leg space (-4cm) So i Bought Passat B8 FL Variant for less money than Superb. And TDI is not completely silent. Especially the stronger one, which I have.

There is an option where you can have climatisation, rear seats heated along with 230V port and 2x USB ports (at least in my country)

The Czech Republic gets very hot in the summer.
Apart from the cars, they make some fantastic beer there too.
There is no 10.5” infotainment option for Superb
I think this car doesn’t have electric adjustable shocks, because it doesn’t have “comfort mode”
