Skoda Superb 2022 review: Family five-door hatch lives up to its name - better than Passat, Mazda6?

- Is the Skoda Superb as good as the name makes it out to be?
It's hardly new, with this current generation model having been around for seven years. And it's hardly game-changing in terms of powertrains, with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
But what it is, according to family reviewer Emily Agar, is a terrific alternative to its competitors - the Mazda 6 and Volkswagen Passat - and the sort of car that more family-car customers should be looking at.
With an unconventional five-door hatchback (Liftback) bodystyle, five seats and an enormous luggage capacity, it's a compelling car. But is it worth the circa $64,000 (AUD) asking price?

Awesome review this…. Cool, calm and composed presentation! All basis covered and in such a sweet way… I’m buying the new Skoda Superb and I admit I’ve been influenced by this review… Keep up the good work and stay blessed 😇
Thank you for this Video 👍🏻
Very good review. Thanks for your video.
I recently sold a Tiguan and purchased a demonstrator Passat, I love the lift back design of the Skoda though. I’ve been enjoying driving a sedan again and love the fuel economy.
Recently on a return trip to Newcastle from the the southern highlands I returned 5.4 litres per 100 kilometres ( nearly all freeway driving) mine is 140 tsi engine.
The „German“ Version has two usb-c ports in the front - And two in the back + a 230V socket (like the german house electricity system) but no 12V Port anymore…only one und the trunk. In my opinion it‘s one of the best Cars made today. Not as sporty as a BMW or Audi, or at least so luxurious like a Mercedes Benz. But it costs 1/3 to 1/2 and is the best compromise on the Road between power, efficiency and luxury with an outstanding higher inner space than any other european wagon in this class… Please excuse mit spelling mistakes… i‘m from Germany 😅
I loved the review! Skoda Superb is the most practical luxury sedan out there
Really it's a mazing car I love it too much , and your review is fantastic 👍👍💐💐
Love the colour and the alloy wheel design. Beautiful interior as well
Sure for $64000 ...You must be joking...
@@hisham56hamilton50 not many cars that size much cheaper though
The rear 12volt in front of the back seats is for the tyre compressor, so you can reach any of the tyres should you need to inject tyre sealant after a puncture.
It can also be used to plug a USB adaptor so the issue mentioned of not having USB ports available for charging is solved!
When it comes to USB in the backseat.
You have an option with one 230V socket and two USB instead of that 12V port.
Good review, well detailed and beatiful tester.
Very elegant and spacious car !!!! Prefer it to the SUV's ;) Greetings from Belgium.
Me too i prefere skoda superb audi a4 vw oassat over suvs
You can use that 12V socket in the back to charge the tablet :) Just use an adaptor ;)
The only saloon car with more leg room on the rear seat by VAG is Audi A8 Lang. I have 2017 Superb estate and I travel in the back when ever possible! 😂
Ur are very nice person....
hmm in Czechia a Country where its build and Company is based u get 3 year 60 000km warranty with purchasable additional 2 year and 40 000 km to total 5 year 100 000... that's silly
The car's fuel economy is amazing. I actually did 5.9l/100 km on a high way speeding at 100 km/h.
I did 3.2L/100km in the 2.0L 150hp TDI AddBlue

The disel is typically better in fuel consumption, but my viewpoint is that with a much bigger engine you can still save some good dollars
@@hishonline sure, but the diesel is supposed to do 4.8L/100km so the fuel economy of this car is impressive no matter the engine choice.
what color code is this? Graphite grey ?
Yes.
@@jkbdbrvck Thank you.
Huge transmission tunnel
awd Google shows fwd ???
A bit late but whatever. The cars awd only in the 2 liter petrol/diesel engine config. (only the 147 kw diesel is 4x4 not the 110 kw one) All the other options (1.5, 1.4 hybrid etc.) are fwd only.
Also if you don't mind it, give the manual a chance if it's available. It's so smooth and fun to drive
Ofcourse there is heaps of rear leg room when you're 5ft
Its no longer cheap ...Man for that money you can buy a lot better car...
Which cars might they be?
