    Do you need to fill the cup with fuel when putting it back on?

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  4 місяці тому +2

      Thank you for your question. It’s a good one. No you do not need to refill it because as soon as you start turning it over the fuel pump immediately kickstand fill it all up and you’re good to go. But really good question I should’ve mentioned that. Thanks. Consider subscribing. Joe.

    Thanks for the video! Can you tell me what kind/size of wrench you’re using? I need to do this same maintenance task on my tractor (a 5060). Thank you!

      Thank you for your question. The wrench I used was a large adjustable wrench that could easily fit around the retaining nut at the top of the water trap. And adjustable wrench. That has a good gripping surface is what you need. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.

    How to fix fuel leak on separator bowl

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  5 місяців тому +1

      Hello, thank you for your question. There should be a rubber gasket that seals the bowl to the area above it that you screw it into. Be sure that rubber O-ring or gasket is present. Otherwise it will absolutely leak. If it’s missing, you’ll need to get a replacement, which can be probably easily purchased Online or from your dealer. This can fall off when you’re changing out, the fuel separator, and it can just fall to the ground and it can be lost. This might’ve happened. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

    Could not tell from the video where your float indicator was before you removed the glass bowl. Perhaps because it was dirty. Have you done a companion video on changing the L6060 fuel filter? Thanks for this one.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  Рік тому

      Thank you for your question. No the float was so filthy and full of crud probably from ethanol that it actually was at the very bottom of the cylinder. The bowl is not glass unfortunately it is plastic and has discolored but I can still see it pretty well. Now that I’ve cleaned it out the float is very visible at the bottom but before it was not it was covered with a brown crud probably again from the ethanol in the diesel fuel. please consider subscribing. Thanks - Joe

    a neighbor's tractor shut off unexpectedly. I looked at his water separator and found it "up to the red line". Will the tractor shut down when this happens?

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  Рік тому +1

      Hello Steve. Great question. When the water level reaches the red line, it’s a big problem because then water is absolutely moving down the fuel line and not being trapped. Water in the injectors and then in the engine is a bad deal. Yes it can cause the tractor engine to fail. Unfortunately, the chamber becomes cloudy overtime but it is something we need to look at more frequently than not. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.
