  • #kubotawontstart If your Kubota tractor won't start watch this video - and try this first. For almost a Month I could not start the Kubota Tractor, come to find out after testing every switch and relay on the tractor it is a plunger switch on the what Kubota calls the (speed control pedal in the owners manual) (they should call it the Forward/Reverse pedal) Translators ? LOL. I replaced the switch watch that video here: • Starting Issues with K... The switch I got was for a 2013 L3800 Kubota TD-060-53902 yours may have a different number ...I did see some online but I would check your local Kubota dealer first. To test circuits, fuses and switches use a multimeter tester you can get one here: amzn.to/2A5ihXN , you check continuity of circuits...simple example: if you have a standard fuse you put the test wires on either end if fuse is blown it wont show on your meter, if its good needle will go up showing that current can flow through it...(Continuity) if your multi-meter doesn't have a dedicated continuity test mode, you can still perform a continuity test. Turn the dial to the lowest setting in the resistance mode in the ohms portion of the meter.

Just want to say thank you for the video. I have a 23-year-old Kubota, which is used for plowing snow and hauling firewood. I have had no problem with it till today. Up to our butt in snow from the last few days and it decided not to start... All these years, I have never had one go. SO, I watched your video and subscribed, LIked... This gave me the idea that it was one of those lockouts... I dug in and around, poked prodded, low and behold it was one of them; frozen closed... would have cost me a months pension check to get someone to look at it... Thank You Very Much for the idea...

I just want to thank you! Today while working on the land I shut my tractor down for a quick break, when I tried starting the glow plugs and dash would light up but nothing with cranking over. I tied everything I could think of, after no success I turned to you tube. I found your video and tried out the foot pedal switch by rocking back and forth- it worked! I was able to finish the job and save money on calling onto the dealer/ service. Thanks again for your valuable video!!!

We have been fighting this mysterious, non-starting problem for over a year!!! It was so intermittent that we could not predict when it was going to happen so I just left my tractor running when working. One time it happened to me with the tractor out in the field and I thought I was royally screwed. 2 days later it just decided to start again!! We have tested everything possible, even the starter to no avail. The fact that juggling the steering wheel, or plugging in the battery tender worked was crazy. There was no way to even explain it to a technician. THANK YOU Virginia Srew. This was an excellent video. Mine is a L3200. Perfect.

Was having this intermittent problem. My tractor only has 125 hours, so based on the many comments here I venture to say that this limit switch is somewhat maladjusted from the factory, barely making contact. Over time, it either quits making contact or just every now and then. I removed the switch (only one bolts holds it in place) and re-adjusted. Problem gone. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

I was taking a brief break for dinner and when I got back to my tractor, it just wouldn't start. It was getting dark fast in late Sept Pacific NW. I ran back home and turned on you tube and watched your video (yours popped up first thank god). Before I even finished watching the whole video I ran back and pressed the fuel peddle back and forth and then holding my breath to turn the key, the engine was on at first turn what a great feeling.
Thank you so much for posting this video. It saved me a ton of stress as I did not have to leave my tractor overnight in the wide open filed and going to bed thinking about what to do the next day.
I hope other fellow Kubota owners find your video when they have the same issue instead of finding their way to an expensive dealership.

Thank you so much! 2 Kubota dealers couldn't tell me what was wrong but I had the exact same issue. It's absolutely infuriating that Kubota makes these machines inoperable if any of these OPC sensors fail. Imagine if your seat belt broke in your car or truck and your vehicle became inoperable and then the dealer says they can't take it in for a month?!

You sir are my hero. Tractor wouldn't start (very cold here this week). I knew it was a safety switch somewhere but no idea how to diagnose it. The nearest Kubota dealer is 25 miles away and not cheap. This is the first video I watched and after f$%king with the foot pedal my MX4700 fired up. I think the cold weather got the switch stuck. Nice job of troubleshooting the problem. It's exactly minor problems like this that cause you to better know and understand your machine. I am sure Kubota deliberately left the issue out of the manual to increase service and maintenance revenue.
Job well done for accomplishing the solution yourself.

I had the same problem last Spring when plowing a field of weeds towing a disc harrow. I turned too sharp and got stuck in some read loose sand. Got up and out of my cab to pull the hitch pin in order to com around and pull the disc harrow back and straighten it out. When I stood up, the engine quit. Hmm, never did that before. Then for about the next 8 hours I couldn't start it. Apparently I stood up when the pedal had not quite returned to a neutral position. It wasn't until I shifted from 4WD to 2WD that something moved and the engine started. I believe this video expresses exactly what I experienced. There is also another video very similar showing all that is needed is some oil inside that plunger switch. Sometimes the smallest thing causes the biggest headaches. Thanks for the great video.

Thank you so much. I had just finished tilling and cleaned all of the dust off but I went to get off the tractor it stopped so I thought it was the seat safety switch. I had the relays out ready to go test them and thought what the heck, so I jiggled the gas pedal and it fired right up. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Kubota 2650.

We have a B7500 that would not start. Getting ready to check all the interlocks when we pulled the left hand hood off and found the wire to the oil pressure sensor had come off. Stuck the wire back on and she started right up. Saved us a lot of time and trouble finding that first thing.

thank you very much. in my case my tractor started & then I park it in the sun for about an hour & came back later & it would not start. I tried everything, check relays, fuses, battery etc.
then I saw your video. I push on the forward petal & then the reverse and then it started. Thank you very much.

I’ve got a L3200 and mine does the same. First time it happened I was out in the field and nothing when key in start position, not even clicking. Walked home watched your video, walked back work forward/reverse pedal and manual worked neutral plunger and it started. Held for a year or so. Yesterday I serviced tractor and noticed it had a rough start lots of clicking then it fired up. I immediately thought battery (7+ yrs old). Finished servicing and couldn’t get it to start just loud clicking. Tried jumping and nothing. Battery tested fine at local auto shop. After researching/forum overload I had everything from starter, wiring, relays etc. to check. Then I remembered this pesky neutral switch. Got underneath where forward/reverse pedals rods are and noticed it wasn’t coming all the way back from reverse to neutral. Came back above decking at the neutral plunger and sure enough it wasn’t fully depressing the n/plunger. So if you try to start and you get nothing (no clicks) check here first. If you try to start and get clicking check here too. Sorry so long winded just wanted to let folks know this can fix the dreaded Kubota clicking but not starting too. Thanks again for this helpful video.

I have a 2017 B2650 and this Y pedal switch has been a real PITA. It’s constantly an issue. As I’m writing this comment it’s because tractor won’t crank and that switch is problem. Getting ready to crawl under there and eliminate it.

Thank you, definitely saved me! I have a Kubota MX5200 and ignition/starting had become unreliable. It would start the first time in a day but if I turned if off after using it, it would not restart. If I came back a day later it would start again. Turns out the pedal was sticky and wouldn't reset all the way so the switch you mentioned was not engaged. After a few hours it would eventually reset on its own and that is why I would be able to start it the first time but not after.
