IDLER PARTS REPLACEMENT With PC CF PRUSA XL
The critical idler parts holding the filament against the drive gear were initially made for the process XL with PETG. Using an enclosure, the heat would tend to allow these parts to flex and distort which reduce the pressure of the filament against the drive gear creating printing in the air. This was a real big problem that was improve dramatically by printing these parts with PC - CF polycarbonate - carbon fiber which is much more heat resistant. Step-by-step on how to do this for your
extruders is documented here.

    I contacted Stihl and asked if the files could be replaced with different size files for different chain pitches too much they stated no. But much to my surprise you can’t even replace the original files once they wear out with the same size file. Below is exactly what they wrote. At $47 I will pass. “. Thank you for contacting STIHL Inc. Regarding your inquiry, we regret to inform you that the files in the STIHL 2-in-1 filing guides are set from the factory and cannot be removed/replaced. @@JosephHunstad Hello Sir, please look at my follow up comment. Several people commented stating they thought I was wrong and I found it hard to believe what I received in writing from Stihl. So I called them. The rep said the exact opposite. The files can be replaced, but not with a different file size . The rep even provided me with part numbers for the flat and round files. I emailed Stihl back with what the rep said and they replied that they were very sorry for the incorrect information and yes, the files could in fact be replaced. I stated I was disappointed that Stihl would provide incorrect information about their own product. Sorry for posting misinformation, but I was only going by what I received from Stihl in writing.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad 3 дні тому

      You make a good point. I understand that dragging the file backwards, particularly with significant force would doll the file but the files are hard and steel harder than the teeth so if you’re dragging it back like I tend to do with minimal pressure it’s probably OK. Good point consider subscribing. Thanks.Joe

    Why in the world this was installed incorrectly, spline key position is not correct? Protip for the spindle length: it is always a set distance from the lock mounting surface, so measure door thickness and and this known number to it and cut the spindle, no need to install it by threading it on and off.

    When you start your build or better if you have a shop glue / tape a magnet on a wall or on your desk and that magnet is now the master magnet for the rest of the build. Now you will clock all of your magnets off of the master magnet so they all attract / repel in the same direction. Also at the beginning of the build take a permanent marking pen and mark all of the magnets on one side so they are all installed with either the marked side on the outside or the marked side on the inside of the hole.

      @@JosephHunstad Joe, that was the first time I’ve ever asked a question in comments and I thank you for responding! I did subscribe and like. It was over a year before I needed and realized I did not have 4WD because I rarely drive my Ranger since taking a new job. Sappington pro outdoor in Jackson, Missouri is my local dealer, but I will never take anything there again. They arrogantly took no blame for the problem, but would look at it for a service fee. Also, they charged me twice What their estimate was for putting the heater in. Meanwhile, I realized they put the switch in backwards so now I do have four wheel/one wheel/2 Wheel Dr. but the performance/standard/work button still does not work and was click in the correct way. I’ve checked every fuse and relay that I could find and finally gave up. Again, Thank You! Have a blessed day.

    If you are using a different kind of plastic gourd that doesn't have those dimples that he was drilling under, you can drill a couple of 1/2" holes in the same area and install a 90 degree plumbing PVC street elbow into the hole, with the outer hole turned down. The plumbing hardware guy at your Lowe's will know what that is and show you. Rain will not enter and the gourd will be many times cooler than not being drilled even on an 85° day with sun, temperatures can rise within the gourd that are well over 100°. This causes some babies to jump out so hot. Avoid that from happening and install plastic elbows into your gourd. I glue them in with caulk. Also clean out my gourd a lot more thoroughly, to prevent any disease being transferred to the next year. It's easy to do, after dumping the old nesting by hand, simply use a hose to get the worst out and then take a bottle brush or new toilet bowl brush to the inside. There are lots of spray cleaners that you can use on them, but I like simply a mixture of white vinegar with a little water sprayed in with a utility pump hand sprayer. Wet it down completely and then let it set for a few minutes, then use your hose, the thoroughly flush.

    Hey Joe great video! Another question for you: Our gate stops after tapping the hinge/ lock but closes about an inch shy of where it should to engage the locking mechanism. Do we need to reset the open and closed positions manually to fix this?

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad 18 днів тому

      That’s a very good question. I believe you do need to reset manually the open close points to fix that. I hope your Gates working well. I really like my new one. I think it’s a vast improvement over the previous one. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

    This is an old version of the Inspiron 3000 laptop. Dell no longer makes them this way. The keyboard is not removable from the front and the battery is not accessible easily unless you remove the back panel. This video is for 2022, about the same year I bought my Dell Inspiron 3000. Must be a very old version of the Inspiron 15.

      Thank you for your comment. I did not know that it was an old version when I put the video out. I think the laptop at that time was current but time does March on. Thanks again for your comment. By the way, the addition of RAM did not speed up, my computer noticeably. Thanks. Consider subscribing. Joe.

    how long do you leave it in the freezer?

      @JosephHunstad 23 дні тому

      OK, you ask a very good question. No one really knows the answer to that however, you should make it such that the temperature becomes stable. Probably probably a couple hours is all you need but typically I leave it overnight. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad 28 днів тому

      Thank you for your question. I’m sorry that you have a leak. Number one you can reuse the current weights you have on your new hose and I believe you can buy a new spray hose at Lowe’s Home Depot or other stores like that. Consider subscribing. Thanks. Joe.

    Glad I stumbled across your channel. New sub here. Curious, what size and brand of electrical wire would you recommend for connecting accessories? I recently bought a 2023 Ranger XP 1000 crew Northstar Ultimate and I plan on adding a light bar and a couple 5” cubes. Is there a particular brand you like? I’m a DIY’er for most projects except electrical. I tend to let the smoke out of things. Should all my wire be the same size of the bus connector wire? Thanks for the video

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad 29 днів тому

      Excellent question and congratulations on your RANGER. You will love it. Yes, I would use the same wire gauge that’s in the pulse bar connectors. That way you’ll be safe. There are so many brands of lights to choose from. Take a look at the video. I did on the light bar installation for the Ranger it lists the brand which has worked well for me. Thanks for subscribing. Take care. Joe.

    Hi Joe. Just bumped into this video. Twenty years ago I got a free mortising attachment with my Delta drill press. Never used it because someone said something negative about it. Well yesterday I install it and found it works great! I'm a hobbyist with a nice 1/3 basement shop and I have no more room for tools. This attachment fits the bill. With knobs and such attached it's not going back in the plastic case. I'll find drawer space for it. Should take but 5 minutes to reinstall on the drill press. Anyway, thanks for the video. Great refresher and all the info in one place. I like that. :). I did see someone stick a ruler using a magnet to the chisel and then measured the distance from the ends of the ruler to the fence to get the chisel square to the fence. But your way work fine also which is how I do it. Thanks again Jim - Atlanta
