  • Here we provide a demonstration of Schroth Method corrections.
PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING THESE YOURSELF!!
These exercises as shown are for this specific patient. All scoliosis curves are different, so YOUR curve needs to be treated with different corrections.
The Schroth Method is designed to actively correct the spine more toward the midline. In this video, we demonstrate using the muscles to achieve this active self correction.
For more information, check out our website with information specific to scoliosis

We also have a scoliosis portal that gives more information on our treatment methods.

Wonderful! It's so similar to the iyengar yoga practice! I have worked hard to build up the self awareness of my back, given I have the similar spine with the young handsome model, physically and mindfully with the termination of disciplining and letting go of the muscles. Very fine and patient practice.

He can definitely reverse his curve completely.
Find a Schroth Method Therapist and make him do the excersises even if he protests or doesn't want to.
He will be grateful to you later.
My parents didn't force me to do it and now I have a pretty bad Kyphosis and a slight scoliosis and only a month ago went to my local Schroth Method therapist.
I regret my actions deeply as I could've helped my curve by a large margin, now when my spine is practically unfixable and now I can't do as much fitness as I'd like to and can't get as strong as I'd like to.
By the way I'm 19 years old and maybe still have a chance of slightly reducing the degree of my curve but your son has a lot more time so make him do it

    • @ChapsShrugged
      @ChapsShrugged 3 роки тому +1

I'd recommend a "nerve therapist"- its pretty painful, but you'll get a clear idea of problem areas. I'm thinking the most direct treatment would be "Chiropractic Biophysics", or "CBP"- basically they lock your body in a vice and force it to adjust- but its intense, my friend said its totally common for people to cry super hard- but not out of just pain- neuromuscular holding patterns from stress or emotion. Peopel laugh uncontrollably too... but I think that'd be the quickest way. I don't have funding right now, but I HAVE been to a nerve therapist.
For self-treatment, I've been laying on the floor, trying to "feel" the backside of my body "contact evenly" and hold that position for 10-20 minutes, while continuing to breathe- full, steady- to relax. Sometimes I can FEEL foot, hip, shoulder, leg, spine muscles relax and when they do- its heaven to feel balanced for a few hours. But it only works SOMETIMES haha. But I can't just stretch normally or do yoga, because sometimes it makes things worse.
Also-read/listen to a book called "Breath" by James Nestor- that's what led me here. There's a German gal whose name escapes me, who used breathwork and cured not only her scoliosis, but 150 or so other women back in the first half of the 20th century. Chapter 4,5, or 6 of Breath. That's what I'm looking for is "orthopedic breathing".
      Good luck to you!

I did. :) I had a back brace and did schroth physiotherapy. In three years, my curve went from 26-27 degrees to 20-21 degrees.

@@vansakutov Yes! Though, I think most of the reason why mine improved was because of the back brace. I wore it 18-21 hours per day for about 3 years. I'm not exactly sure how much of a role schroth physiotherapy had in my improvement, but I did it for 2 hours per week at a clinic + doing the exercises at home.

@@remionno5461 Do you have trouble while doing the exercises home ?

@@nintendofan5978 Yes, it can be difficult to do some exercises without the right equipment, so I had to buy some things. At first, it's bit tiring to do the exercises, but after doing them for a few weeks with the guidance of a certified schroth physiotherapist for a few weeks, you get used to it and can do them easily at home. It's just important to remember how exactly to set up the equipment for each exercise though because you don't want to be doing it incorrectly.
