  • One of the most challenging concepts to learn with The Schroth Method is breathing corrections. Many people wonder if this is possible because are breathing into different areas of the spine and trunk.
In this video we talk about how this breathing correction happens, and we demonstrate this with an actual patient with scoliosis.
Check out this video to learn more about breathing expansion. If you are curious about The Schroth Method, check out our website at:

Thank you to you & the absolutely beautiful young lady for the demonstration. I had a spinal fusion back in 2010 somehow I kept my eyes closed to my right prominent rib from back view. Or can it get worse even with a fusion lol. I had ZERO EDUCATION post op on how to maintain good posture or breathing anything like that. Was a 65 degree curve.

I dont think I have seen research on that. I would say it is possible for the rib prominence to increase after surgery, but I would think that would be later in life. Again, no research to back that. Working on and strengthening posture should help limit that though.

@@AlignTherapyUtah wow yes thank you for the timely reply.
13 years later, I’m focusing on posture and breathing into my left concave side. I didn’t know I had to. Weirdly enough filling into this left lung feels weird. My muscles seem to be tight somewhere in there from less expansion maybe. Thank you for your videos

Sorry you don't have the method available in Venezuela. I am hoping to get something out where you can do some things online in a program. Watch for it in the next few weeks. I am hoping to have something available soon.

Hi! Can the concave side be opened back up? I feel mine is concaved from the front some as well as the back.

Yes it can! It is a 3 dimensional problem so we have to work with it in all planes. I would suggest working with a Schroth PT

She has a curve to the left lumbar? Did she expand her right pelvis and tightend the left lumbar to have the stable base?

Expand the concave side and tensed the convex.
