Excellent review! I just bought this exact watch about two weeks ago. I've always had a thing for Tudor watches, finally gave in and I can't be happier with it, except for one thing... Now I want a blue dial full size Pelagos... And not because of anything missing or wrong about the BB58, I think it's because for how awesome the BB58 is.
Great review man. Loved the honesty and the touching story. I stumbled on your channel and it's really good. I just bought a BB58 and am just waiting for the AD to get it in. My first "luxury watch" purchase. The anticipation is killing me haha.
Great story about your little one. Knife nut just getting into watches and over the moon about my recent purchase of a bb58 blue. Looking forward to more of your content
I very recently bought the Black Bay 58 Navy Blue on the steel bracelet to compliment a range of predominantly black-dialled watches in my collection that include the classic Rolex Submariner Date 16610 that I've owned for 19 yrs. The Tudor is a super, very well-made luxury timepiece and I appreciate its rather understated blue dial and bezel compared to the 'bling-blue' ceramic of my Omega Seamaster 300. Like-for-like think of the Blue 58 as a more modern take on its original black and gilt sibling. The blue really pops in daylight or in well-lit rooms and a pleasure to wear. Although not quite up there with the Rolex Sub in the absolute quality stakes - but why should it when barely 35% of the retail price - go to an AD and try one on. In-house COSC certified movement, 70 hrs power reserve, staggering lume.... you won't be disappointed.
Ditto - I've been wearing mine for 2 years now, with my other (more expensive) watches barely getting a look-in! It really is that good... And the perfect knife pairing? Great Eastern Cutlery Northfield #29 Stockyard Whittler in Blood Red Jigged Bone - boy does that pop next to this BB58!
I have a Lorier Neptune iii. On a wait list for the BB58... do you think once I get the BB58, the Neptune will be irrelevant in my collection? I only wear 2 watches really, a beater Seiko SKX for swimming ect and Neptune as a daily. I don't like a large collection. Thoughts?
Excellent questions. Don’t be tempted to buy anything other than what you have your eye on. If you think a bb58 or aqua terra or Rolex is what you want, don’t buy the substitute. Just save up. That being said, I had bought two loriers and two Baltic’s before I really even considered the bb58. I believe they are the only reason I ever ended up being in the market for one of them. They helped me discover my wants and sizing requirements.
I see you have the OEM bracelet! Do you still use the strap code bracelet and do you still recommend it? How does the strapcode compare to the OEM bracelet?
Lol wow when you say it, that sounds awfully put, doesn’t it? She was laying on my chest sleeping, from the angle, I could only really see the top of her back.
Ok, I see what you’re saying now..yes, in that case a meditative speculation on the only thing in your immediate field of vision isn’t a bad way to kill the time. Anyway, I’m sure your little angel is your pride n joy and long may that continue. They grow up too quickly and find other interests..they’re yours for such a short time..look after her and stay safe..God bless

Fantastic review Ryan! Really a touching story about how you were holding your daughter. Brought back a few memories for me as well. Great job dad! 👍🙂

So am I, very grateful to hear from you.
You have encouraged me to have a watch for my kid(if) by this touching story!
Great summary of why it's such a great watch but really lovely story about your baby too.
Thank you so much! I can’t tell you how much that means to me.

Great story about baby and watch
Great video as always. Was waiting for your review of this. So you finally got Tudor bracelet for it. I remember you had it on strap code earlier.
I’m from Oakland too, did you buy at retail? If so where? Offered discount?
I’ve got one as well….it’s awesome!

That’s a gorgeous knife! Congrats on your length of time with the bb58. You’re a real OG, David

Curious to know, now that you have the BB58 would you still have bought the Baltic and Lorier watches with similar aesthetics?

@@tmg9854 that is a difficult one - the upside being I can't see Baltic being hard to sell on the secondary market if you want to buy up.

my bb58 is running +- 0 seconds after 3 days
Have you had many people comment on your watch?
The first time you held your baby in your hands and you stare at your watch for 3 hours??

@@Ronny65287 thank you, Ash. God bless you!
Good to see you back! Nice video and please keep them coming! I dig those hands
They’re legendary! Thanks so much. Want to get on your level of fatherhood some day.
