I've seen genuine videos of someone saying no man should wear a digital watch because it's not classy and is childish so it was nice to see the flip side.

Welcome to the hobby/passion. As an avid watch collector for the past 40 years, my only advise to you is to buy what you like and enjoy your watches. Forget about all the nonsense. You can love a Casio the same as you might love a Rolex. You’ve got a great collection and you’ve tied a story and a meaning to each of your choices. That’s what it’s all about.

Since then, I have developed my own collection of more "lower cost/higher value" watches than he has in his vintage collection. Mine are mainly Seikos and Islanders. I really enjoy the hobby, and your collection looks great! Look forward to hearing more...

I love it! I was definitely not expecting a watch video from you, but your enthusiasm is apparent in spades. I am very excited to come along on your watch journey.
Really well done Mary, I’ve been into watches for 50 years and a collector for 35-40 of those and yes the micro mechanics fascinate me to this day. You came across as genuine and knowledgeable, you’ll do really well at this - Good luck ❤️
Hello from Madrid. Thanks the algorithm for finding you. Very well done with this video. I’m into watches for 20 years and this video is better than many videos done by dedicated youtubers.
Wow this was great - not sure how I stumbled on this (and minority hadn't heard of you before and wow what a great voice!). Look forward to seeing where the hobby takes you next!
Initially stumbled on you through a cycling channel I followed years ago, then your music channel popped up, then my UA-cam has been populated with watches for years now since I collect as well and again you popped up! This is some crazy multi crossover for me. That CWC watch is awesome - field watches are one of my favorites.
As a printmaker who has gotten into watches, I dig this. I'm a seiko girl myself, but I love watches in the same way you do. Thanks for the awesome video.
Nice collection! Love the Casio World Time. As to the scratch on it, their lower end digitals take scratches super easy, sadly (their basic digital alarm chrono has been my daily driver for over 20 years, and it's so scratched the edges are rubbed smooth!), but they're built like tanks otherwise. Mine has been with me to 5 of the 7 continents, scaled many mountains, sailed many seas, and kayaked many rivers! Love the collection, and find it neat it's a hobby we share.
Been watching Mary play guitar for awhile and as a watch collector with thousands of affordable watches, who thinks CASIO makes the best watches in the world, bar none, I welcome Mary to the club.
@@montys8th - most are Tough Solar which never need changing. I have solar Casio over 25 years old still on the original battery working perfectly, one of the reasons Casio are the best watches made, bar none. The just need a dose of sunlight to keep going. I have obtained seemingly dead solar Casio off eBay, put it in the Sun on a window sill for a week and they recover, and work as normal still.
Welcome to the hobby, Mary! Love your collection - especially that CWC that reminds you of your father. That's the power of collecting - the memories of each piece. I'm retired from the U.S. Navy and wore a G-Shock my entire 20 year career while sailing around the world.. I still have it, but have added to my collection with a Hamilton Field Khaki, and a Rolex Explorer ref 114270. Cheers!
Glad I found your channel, I have been collecting watches for about 20 years and have around 60 in my collection. The most important thing is to buy watches you like and not just buy watches because of the brand. I have watches ranging from £9.99 to £5,000, but my go to ones are my Dw5600 and my Casioak. Try some polywatch on the face of the casio.
Mary, I came here for the watches but ...dear God, that voice along with your british accent just mesmerized me. Love the rainbow Casioak and the Breitling Superocean. Cheers.
I enjoyed seeing your collection. I love anything with gears. Watches, motorcycles, and cars. My favorite watch I own is a Tissot GP that I wore on my motorcycle circumnavigation of the United States last year, 16,000 km in 29 days. Keep collecting!
They do look cool but its the opposite of what we want to collect. Most of us are connected enough to mass media,I don't need someone tracking my every movement. Its like having classic cars & going to a car show & taking an EV!
Just what I was looking for . I have moved from mandolins to watches and I share your fascination with the fine craftsmanship evident in good watches. I so enjoyed your channel Thank you . Mike.
The world is your oyster when it comes to 70’s vintage. So many gorgeous women’s watches to choose from for not a lot (relatively speaking) of money - I’m almost jealous! Great first vid. Great collection. Enjoyed your stories. The CWC was the crown for me. Welcome to our wonderful world of horology.
Love this so much! Your collection reflects more of ours than those who have higher-end brands. I've got too many, and they mostly fall into my budget range. Buy what you like, rock it, and appreciate where everyone is in their journey. Great collection--I want to add a Tiffany blue like that Casio to my rotation.
As a watch enthusiast. I love to see the collection and the reason for purchasing each piece. One of my favorite videos from you so far. Please make more!
Great video! Welcome to the club fellow watch nerd! No need to label your collection as entry level, it doesn’t matter if you’re new or a veteran, your current collection is fantastic! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next! Remember, per Steven Tyler “life (watches) are a journey, not a destination…”. Looking forward to listening to your music too! God bless!
Oh my god, I found this video in my home, I like watches but I had to comment just to say this: you have a wonderful voice, even when you don't sing. It's one of the most relaxing I've ever heard :O Cheers
Oh wow, now this was a pleasant surprise! Been following your music since early Andertons days and now this. Lovely collection, the Tiffany Casio and Tissot Prx are the standout for me.
I'm doing the same thing. Building a collection of cheap but interesting watches. That Mission to Pluto looks really good. The strap choice is a smart upgrade.

Once you start, you can't stop. I'm forever browsing the internet, scouring my local shops for inspiration for my next watch purchase. Fabulous collection you have made, I also have one or two of those choices in my small collection, (Tissot PRX Quartz version, Casio "Tiffany" Dial). ⌚
This is awesome, been a big fan for years and love your music, the fact you love watches as much as I do just makes it that much cooler. Definitely looking forward to more videos
Know your more for guitar playing but loved this, bought back memories as I was also soldier who served on one tour of Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan, the cwc! What a blast from the past, if you couldn't afford a watch you went to the stores and got issued one of those beauts!, then through my 3 tours g shocks were the go to watch, rugged practical and reliable, good luck collecting more !
Growing up in Bristol, loving watches and the idea of a birth year watch, my 1989 G10 is also a very special part of my collection. Fantastic first video! Happy I found it! Looking forward to more 🥳
A nice little video on your collection. I have built a little collection over a few years, I did have a Seiko military watch which I deeply regret letting go, I am on my second Breitling Blackbird, (the previous sold), I have since added two Bremont watches, an Omega Speedmaster, and recently got a Cartier Tank XL. I might try and replace my military Seiko next year.
I just recently bought the same Swatch Watch as you! Aaand ended up returning it… something just felt off. Funny coincidence! Really loved your Breitling, and its refreshing to see someone show off their collection in such an inviting manor. Much love
I immediately recognised sultry Mary. And a watch collection can very well be very affordable - like mine. I love watchss - they are a reflection of different activities, aesthetics, technologies- and STORIES. WELCOME, MARY, to this wonderful world! All the best, Rob in Switzerland😂
Loved this video! I'm not a watch collector...but I have loved being a watch owner and feel naked without one ... even though as a young child I always seemed to have a pretty good notion what time it was. Mum would say we could go out to play, but must be back by.. whatever time she said. I could look at the sky, how bright it was & where the sun was & intuitively know what time it was - to around 10 minutes accuracy. I'm old enough to have been brought up on wind-up watches. Loved my wind-up alarm pocket watch - that kept amazingly good time for a cheap watch..It kept going for a few years, before, inevitably it stopped. Wind-up watches (ones I could afford) seemed to have a fairly short lifespan. The most exotic watch I ever had was a pop-up enameled solid silver watch I found in the attic of the big old house we moved into. Unfortunately I've lost it ... Eventually moved onto a 'divers' watch because I had a bad habit of drowning watches because I forgot I was wearing them...still wind-ups. The first accurate and waterproof and battery-powered watch I had was a Casio, in my late teens. It eventually got ruined after the watch shop I where I got the battery replaced forgot to put back the rubber gasket that made it waterproof...they also denied it when I took the watch back and pointed out they had not put the gasket back..🙄 Skipping a lot of watches (mostly Casio) my current watch (also a Casio) is a bit different. It's solar-powered. As long as I get out in the sun a few minutes every day or even every few days, it just keeps going, with remarkable accuracy! & It's waterproof. It doesn't have a backlight (only bad point)..It does have slightly phosphorescent hands and dial markings but remains very difficult to read at night. I hardly ever take it off..I find the rubber straps tend to break sooner the more you bend the rubber by removing daily. Always seems difficult to get a good replacement strap... Anyhow, was pleasantly surprised and delighted to learn you're a bit of a watch nut...😁
Discovering your channel after watching a bunch of Nico Leonard's content is heck of a contrast 🤣Love the background on the brands, very informative. Very nice collection too! Looking forward to watching more of your watch content.
I’m very new to watches too so glad I can follow someone else’s journey! Also 10/10 starting with a Breitling. As I now know “Sketchy dudes wear Breitling”!
Breitling and Omega fan here. You have a really nice watch collection. And I love the story behind everyone of your watches. I also have a Breitling, a MoonSwatch, and a PRX. Looking forward to hopefully see more content about watches.
This is brilliant Mary - of course I know you and your music all the way back to Bristol early days and I loved your recent tour. But I had no idea you were a watch fan girl. Fabulous companion to your music career. I’ve also got a 42mm Breitling and I love it for all the reasons you mention, including it’s robustness for when I go sailing. Great video!
That's a GREAT collection. I really enjoyed you talking about your collection and was kind of astonished that you own a G10. Great little watch. And a great story attached to it. I really hope to see more of your watch-collecting journey here. And now I got to get my G10 Navigator out of the box. Thanks for the inspiration.
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Watch Collecting! You're off to a fantastic start. Your collection reflects a genuine interest in the essence of timepieces, and the thought you've put into each purchase really shows. It seems you're collecting for all the right reasons, not just for the sake of collecting. I'm excited to see where this journey takes you! -David

I had no idea who you are but loving this video. Watch world has a lot but really A LOT to learn and no one really knows everything. It is so nice to see more women into this field.
This was a fun surprise in my recommended feed! I too have a 1991 dated CWC G10 on the required black NATO strap. And I have the Mission to Pluto MoonSwatch. However that was a 2nd choice for me at the store because the Mission to Saturn was unavailable that day. There are many more watches, but that is where our collections intersect. Thanks for sharing!

10:52 two options for the scratch 1. Pollywatch 2. SKX MOD stainless steel/Sapphire mod case… I would recommend 2
Initially stumbled on you through a cycling channel I followed years ago, then your music channel popped up, then my UA-cam has been populated with watches for years now since I collect as well and again you popped up! This is some crazy multi crossover for me. That CWC watch is awesome - field watches are one of my favorites.
Mary! Phenomenal collection!!!!!!! congratulations!
Thank you so much!!
You two are legends okay, legends!
As a printmaker who has gotten into watches, I dig this. I'm a seiko girl myself, but I love watches in the same way you do. Thanks for the awesome video.
Thumbs up for the quality of your video 👍🏻
Thousands?
Casio is junk for teenies. Do me a favour!
Holy shit changing batteries must be a full time job
Cheers!
The Watch rabbit hole goes deep, be careful, has caught us all out...😂
Well done on your video 👏👏👏
This is the first I have ever seen of your channel. Loved it, thanks so much for sharing.
The CWC flieger is looks amazing.
For GSHOCKs, your collection deserves an MR-G piece. It's their top of line with prices to match.
Yep indeed. I have two MRG watches myself
MRG-B5000B-1DR
MRG-B2000B-1A1DR
😊
Mary, I came here for the watches but ...dear God, that voice along with your british accent just mesmerized me. Love the rainbow Casioak and the Breitling Superocean. Cheers.
This was really cool! Next, a car channel 😁
I enjoyed seeing your collection. I love anything with gears. Watches, motorcycles, and cars. My favorite watch I own is a Tissot GP that I wore on my motorcycle circumnavigation of the United States last year, 16,000 km in 29 days. Keep collecting!
My accountant recently informed me that I have no money...
As an experienced watch collector I can say that I love your video and your watches❤
After a decade of using Apple Watch, I went back to wearing ‘conventional’ watches and my collection now has 60 Casios..
They do look cool but its the opposite of what we want to collect. Most of us are connected enough to mass media,I don't need someone tracking my every movement. Its like having classic cars & going to a car show & taking an EV!
60?? 🤣
@@Wetangle yes.. In just about a year.. No exaggeration !
You got a problem mate 😂
@@merc7paul Yeah.. It’s the sheer affordability that has gotten me into this mess !
Just what I was looking for . I have moved from mandolins to watches and I share your fascination with the fine craftsmanship evident in good watches. I so enjoyed your channel
Thank you . Mike.
Crap.. I guess I'm into watches now.
No you’re not
@@X11CHASE two days later: true, but they look so damned cool
The world is your oyster when it comes to 70’s vintage. So many gorgeous women’s watches to choose from for not a lot (relatively speaking) of money - I’m almost jealous!
Great first vid. Great collection. Enjoyed your stories. The CWC was the crown for me. Welcome to our wonderful world of horology.
0:55 GOD TIER
**loud Nico Leonard noises**
Love this so much! Your collection reflects more of ours than those who have higher-end brands. I've got too many, and they mostly fall into my budget range. Buy what you like, rock it, and appreciate where everyone is in their journey. Great collection--I want to add a Tiffany blue like that Casio to my rotation.
Breitlings are fantastic. You do give off that sketchy character vibe. Enjoy and may it accompany you on many of your adventures.
Not that I'd ever sell my watches but I've noticed they don't hold value like some, which is good if you want to pick one up preowned.
Breitling are fantastic value in grey or secondary market.
Mary being a watch enthusiast is just awesome!
As a watch enthusiast. I love to see the collection and the reason for purchasing each piece. One of my favorite videos from you so far. Please make more!
Nice to see you over in this part of UA-cam! Loving the crossover. Enjoy getting into the hobby and community.
As a fellow watch nerd (enthusiast, geek, etc) and a long time subscriber to you main channel, I love listing to your music also, I would like to welcome you to the "friendly disease", that is watch collecting.
It eventually got ruined after the watch shop I where I got the battery replaced forgot to put back the rubber gasket that made it waterproof...they also denied it when I took the watch back and pointed out they had not put the gasket back..🙄
Skipping a lot of watches (mostly Casio) my current watch (also a Casio) is a bit different.

Mary your collection is you and it's now that's all that matters. Who knows where we will be in the future live for now. I Enjoy your guitar / music video's and this one was fun. Cheers, Kim
I am a woman and I Love my G-Shock brought it at the beginning of the year and have wore everyday. I wear it work, on my blazers, on my dresses u name it. I am obsessed with the entire Casio collection.
I had no idea who you are but loving this video. Watch world has a lot but really A LOT to learn and no one really knows everything.
It is so nice to see more women into this field.
Love your style, humour and watch collection. I've viewed a lot of watch content, you have a unique and refreshing style. Absolutely brilliant.
I’m a female with a 10 watch collection and of those, 7 are Casio. They are hands down my favorite brand. And they look great!
