@@Rachel_Tensions 2310 so not great tbh but if it helps anyone I had always been average or above average on all sections except QR , my score for QR was 640 and I had never got above a 300 on a test (hence the practice) . I think I got over confident on the other sections and that's why they went so badly so word of warning to others ✨

This is by far my worst section. On average I get 50% right and 50% wrong and I have my UCAT on the 17th September. I'm sooo worried about doing the VR section
@@KxrtButReal it went great for me!! I got 2460 which is the minimum that I needed for the med schools I want to apply for. I had gotten better scores in the mock tests, but oh well I'm still pleased 😁 I hope yours goes amazing!
@@KxrtButReal my verbal reasoning in the exam was very difficult, in the sense of there were not many true false questions. Most of mine were long winded 'what is the author's strongest opinion' 'why was this word used/what does it mean' 'what conclusion can be drawn from the passage' type questions. If I could go back, I would revise more strongly on those types of questions! Alot of resources for UCAT focus on true/false questions and once I got to the real thing it really through me off Haha. Verbal was my worst section overall 😭 If you have any questions about the actual thing, I'll happily answer it! Sorry this is a super long comment lol

Recently i've changed my mind and believe that speed reading in general is bs. To be honest it's just more controlled skimming so it can still be useful in the ucat but i'd advise using the skimming strategy over reading the whole thing. As speed increases you get to a certain point where comprehension just decreases in my opinion. @@thomashall8308 Thank you for that, I think you're right - speed reading can have a negative effect if you are not understanding the text. Some ucat questions require a lot of thinking and inferences in the vr section which makes it incredibly hard in the time constraints :/

Wouldn't "Extreme Phrases" be more likely to be True? Because all of the words (used as examples in this video) and similar ones are affirmative words... And the opposite for "Mild Phrases" since those words are less affirmative.
The whole thing about verbal reasoning though is to be 100% correct and logical in your statement based off the passage. Questions like "X might occur" allows you to be more lenient with your judgement of the passage. Whereas questions like "X will definitely occur," means you need to extract direct evidence from the passage which proves X will 100% happen (and usually this direct evidence doesn't exist, making the answer False/Can't tell)

would you advise learning to speed read by removing subvocalisation to score highly in verbal reasoning
how do we learn that?

Hey Medic Mind,
do you recommend reading the actual passage? or just to skim read and look for key words...
thank you
Hi, good question. We recommend skim reading as there is not sufficient time to read the full passage for each question - Hope that helps
Thanks for the tips Medic Mind, they were really helpful.
I will use them when I have my exam in July, wish me luck. :)
I'm glad you found them useful Jiyon!
your tricks helps in reducing the time. however, many questions got it wrong. what should i do so that there is increase in anumber of correct answer
Dude is so helpful. Thanks 🙏
Glad to hear :-) Hope you did well!

Say that to Australian students. Most unis in Australia weigh UCAT as 33% of your selective rank.
For the questions that ask which one is most likely to be true, what's the best approach so that I can answer them quickly?
Hi Sathana, these can be more time consuming, but I would recommend still using the keyword approach as it can help a lot
