    THANK YOU SO MUCH, I couldn't even answer half the author opinion questions in time before (and miserably failed on what I did answer), now I went back and got the other half completely correct!

    Thank you so much! I was really struggling with timing on VR, but you've taught me some really valuable tips, I can't wait to try them out.

    Verbal reasoning is the dark horse of the UCAT. Abstract be doing favours for me.

    Thank you for the in-depth video it was really helpful! What about questions that ask for the author's strongest opinion? Would you check each option one by one, or would you skim the text first at a slightly slower pace and then just choose an answer?

      Hi Jade, thanks for the complements! For statement questions, try to stick to the keyword approach and go through them one by one. You can use techniques to help you decide whether to look at A, B, C or D first. We recorded a video on this before (ua-cam.com/video/GHWMpIHWkmA/v-deo.html), but our newer videos for 2020 are on our UCAT Online Course - www.medicmind.co.uk/ucat-online-course/
      Good luck for revision :)

      @@MedicMind Thank you! I have one more question sorry! If the passage says, "It is highly likely that James plays basketball on Wednesdays." and the statement is, "James plays basketball on Wednesdays." Would this be false or can’t tell?

      @@Jade-cs6mm it would most likely be "can't tell" since we are not sure if he plays it but there's a high chance of it happening.

    Hi there, thanks for this. Just a quick question - at 19:14, it says paper straws biodegrade, but why are we allowed to assume that plastic straws don't because of this? Thanks!

    • @unroyaltyfilms868
      @unroyaltyfilms868 2 роки тому +3

      Also, would D be correct as well? As from the passage, we can conclude that restaurants throw plastic straws out instead of re-using them? (Of course, re-use means recycle here but we still are told that this doesn't happen)

    For the 4th question, why wouldn't the answer be False? Because the next paragraph states that 'cash is still the most common method of payment'. Isn't 'most common' a synonym for majority of people?

    • @melih433
      @melih433 3 роки тому

      The question refers to contactless payments, not cash.

      i would think its true since the average is 8.60, hence majority would be above 8 since average is already plus the next percentile of above and very above average. Don't know why answer was C

    • @paul8972
      @paul8972 Місяць тому

      Is a simpler way of looking at it that aversge and majority are have 2 different meanings ? @@kanwar3855

    Would the £9000 be true or not? 'Cus to the nearest 1000, yeah, that's true, but its not actually 9000, it's 9250!

      it has to be explicitly the exact same. therefore it's false.

    surely saying that magazines are evolving is not explicitly saying they are becoming more popular

      This is what I don't understand either. It would have been first for the first passage but cannot tell for the second I think

    • @lakshyabakshi4955
      @lakshyabakshi4955 3 роки тому +1

      hmm, yeah, "cannot tell" seems like a more appropriate answer

    • @FLASH24x
      @FLASH24x 3 роки тому +1

      Agreed
      I would choose can't tell

    • @SMH_
      @SMH_ Місяць тому

      completely correct. it should be cannot tell, not true. medic mind is very useful for its tips, but they're known to have quite a few mistakes
