My daughter scored 3040 today.
She got up every morning for the last six weeks at 6am and did practice tests until she could do them in her sleep. The answer? Work.
Hi, this is amazing! Well done to your daughter. Does she mind sharing her advice/tips to getting a high UCAT score? Thank you
UCAT preparation is the major key to getting the best score you can. If your UCAT test revision isn’t carefully planned & optimised, you might struggle to do well. I found that each subtest needed different strategies, depending on my individual strengths & weaknesses. For Decision Making, which has a wide variety of question types, I identified which types I was best at and did them first when doing papers. I relied on iCanMed’s UCAT tutoring. Their UCAT preparation packs contain video tutorials outlining tips for solving some of the trickiest elements of the UCAT.
i’ve just discovered your channel and you’re exactly what i needed! i’m in year 12 so applying in autumn this year, so i’m really started to get stressed about all the different aspects of the application process. thank you for being so candid and giving so much great advice :))
medical applications are for sure a challenging time! just try your best at every step and always look after yourself the most throughout the whole process! glad to hear these videos are helping!
i’m applying this year too! where are you thinking of applying? x
@@isabelle4620 ah amazing! i’m looking at birmingham at the minute, but really where ever will take me ahahah!
@@eloisecrang9427 same hahaha, i’m going to apply to all the scottish unis (well 4) as i get the fees paid for here. good luck!! :)
How did it go?
Thank you so much for this. You don’t understand the relief you give students doing the UCAT!!
i’m 16 and i had no idea i needed to do this test because i’m not originally from the uk and i don’t know a lot about the educational system. i’m a bit scared but i think right now i should concentrate in my studies and i should just try and do my best in my final exams. i should just focus on ucat after my exams

"No comparing myself to people"
Noted thank you 🧸
i feel so calm from your positivity. thank you so much! very helpful video. :)
Definitely waiting for videos on specific sections of the UCAT
Hopefully they’ll be up around june time :)
im planning to apply for med 2022 entry and have been looking for newer uni related vids like this!! i honestly appreciate it :) do u think u can do one for bmat?
THank you! For sure, it's on the list so hopefully will come sometime soon in the future :)
Love the editing on this!
Thank you so much!!
Wow This amazing !! So useful .. please could you do one for BMAT too
For sure!!
4 weeks is ridiculously short and yet you did extraordinarily well. I am guessing you are an high achieving student most of the time before your UCAT anyway right?
Yeah his result for 4 weeks is incredible! If you’re looking planning on sitting the ucat take it into consideration that some ppl take 6 months to prepare. It honestly depends on the person but you should start as soon as you can. Just don’t overload yourself with work and take it slow at the beginning
@@rubiksworld2170Thank you. I have heard from one coach that he has had students who have taken it for 5 times. I guess some are just late bloomers, unfortunately.
you talked about mock papers, where did you get you mock papers from? thanks
I mostly used medify for the mock tests :)
love the video, great tips
could u do one for BMAT?
thanks! BMAT video coming soon!
were you scoring roughly the same in your mock exams closer to the actual exam date?
I was scoring a bit lower in my mocks near the exam, I think i was averaging around 735ish. My actual exam was the highest I ever scored ☺️
@@LifeofShaan Wow that's amazing! Good luck on the rest of your application journey :)
Hey Shaan! That's a really good video. Can you please make a video for international students. I could really use your help. Thanks :)
Thanks! I'll add it to my list.. might try and get some international applicants to give their advice too :)
@@LifeofShaan That's so nice of you. Thank you!
thank you so much !!!
No problem! :)
just wanted to say off topic but you are beautiful! great video :)
Can you do a BMAT guide video ?
For sure! Coming soon :)
Do you recommend starting to prepare for your A-levels before Year 13 during the summer? I've heard from people that you should start practising the content beforehand so you can allocate more free time to study for the BMAT later on. Thanks!
Hey. I’m a year 12 student going into yr 13 like you so idk if you want to listen to my advice but I asked my teacher this exact question and she said no. She said try and enjoy the summer as much as you can because year 13 is stressful and hard. Focus on personal statement, ucat etc. Hope this helps xx
@@goodvibes6145 Oh ok, thanks so much for the advice! I honestly wasn't gonna study anyways lmao
Which is better medify or medentry?
Before your UCAT exam, how many UCAT mock papers did you roughly do?
is bmat needed for medicine?
Most unis won’t require it but some of them (I think it’s around 8) need the BMAT instead of UCAT!
@@LifeofShaan thanks
I’m getting 400’s in my mocks , I have six weeks of practice , do I have a chance at 3000? Thanks .
Definitely!! 6 weeks is loads of time and I was getting 400s as well near the start!
Is it alright if you could update us on what you got? I’m also struggling and would love to know if you were able to score around 3000 within just 6 weeks 😊
Hi Shaan, Were you studying for the UCAT and the BMAT at the same time? Thanks!!
i didnt! i took the bmat in november so i studied for that in october and revised for the ucat in july/august time
