Well, I am officially “hooked!” Love your content and spectacular photography. But what I really love is your personal transparency. Living vicariously through you!
19:33 is one of the best moments in all of your amazing videos. There have been a few times in my life I have started in amazement of what lies before me. It’s almost too much to take in. I’ve just become frozen in place and started yelling “this is awesome”. Thanks for sharing this with me.
Spam, poor man's steak! :) Look forward to your weekly videos Chris. We all greatly appreciate you for sharing your life and adventures with us. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, Chris. That's some pretty scenery around Smithers. Good on you for tackling that technical trail. This episode really made me homesick for B.C. I don't miss the rains on the coast during winter though. BTW, I really enjoyed you showing us your layout "downstairs." It's always interesting to pick up tips from how others stow their kit, and what kit they are using.
Awesome episode. Appreciate the gear review. You photography is noting short of amazing. Great eye. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you & God bless.
Personally just found your channel, LOVE IT! I really like your calm nature in both narration and editing. Very very nice, you must walk back and forth to the camera a lot! I will check your other video out, Have fun and be safe!
I was thinking at the 19:00 mark, if that bear chased you there you would drop everything but the coffee mug. I mean, look at the death grip you had on that mug. Great video btw.
You scared off the Black Bear. Hope you had your bear spray close. I see the new green spatula again, with matching knife. The broken black spatula is now gone. I love your photography keep up the good work. How many miles on the Jeep now? Looking forward to your next video. I would like to know if you read our comments?
Been watching 2/3 of you 4w advance, see your flags in your camper, when you were in Skaway on the helcopter ride with your son hiking the glaciers. I saw what looked like the same flags in the background. I done remember you every talking about the flags???
Another great vlog, Chris. The video was stunning. The hike was amazing. Jeep should sponsor you. You really should consider responding to a few comments each week. I think your popularity would explode, and your Patreon support would follow. It's the way every very successful channel seems to take off best. Be safe! Check out the Patreon statistics for other travel channels and see what they pull in each month and then how they interact with folks. I figure the more cash you make, the longer I'll be able to enjoy!
Awesome video as usual. Funny how a bad day can turn into an awesome day. 20 years on a fridge is pretty good but I also understand you don't want to buy a new one. If I were to make one suggestion it would be treking poles...or pole. walking alone in the back country I have found it nice to be able to keep balance and such. You already are carrying a lot with camera gear so they might be too much of a hassle for you. Keep it up and see you next week!
My grandparents lived in Burns Lake! We used to drive up there from Oregon to visit. I need to go back up there. Maybe rent a boat and go out to deadman's island.
Man you made that spam and cheese sandwich look really good. Tempted to run out and by some hot and spicy spam. Would have to top it with Mild Cheddar though, not a big fan of American. But hey to each their own. Great work and thank you! I have been marathoning through seasons V3 and V4 trying to catch up to your current work (V6)
Hey Chris, You nailed it again whit a beautiful video,I wait a week in my concrete environment every time to se your adventure ...beautiful!! And your jeep doesn’t make those funny noises anymore, good. It is no critique but you may consider to install som mud flaps so that jour doors stay less muddy ,and door handles ,they’re not so expensive...just a tip. Keep on adventuring and keep safe . Grt, Hugues
Hey Chris greetings from the UK - I watch every week I love your adventures. Just wondering why you didn’t just use your pressurised shower thing to clean your door handles?! I’m really looking forward to your travels through winter when it’s colder. But I think you need some heat in the Jeep any plans afoot? Keep up the awesome work.
I am surprised the camp does not provide bear boxes to store food, toiletries, etc. Any camps in bear country I have been in have these. Bears can break into cars so easily it is scary, although black bears tend to be more skittish around humans...thankfully.
Chris - you need to expand your culinary horizons. I cringe whenever you cook. However, I am enjoying watching your travels. Very nice filming, very beautiful scenery, and appreciate your commentary.
Do you feel more secure in the Ursa Minor J30 in bear country? It seems to me it would harder to climb into or tear down, than the tent style with the outside ladder?
Give bacon spam a try it’s really good. You should check out the DJI spark. Great little drone to get aerial shots. My latest video was a Jeep trip we took and used my drone. Enjoy your channel👍
I still can’t believe you don’t have a gas can. I just have a factory JKUR Hard Rock Edition and a winch but the first accessory I installed myself was the Smittybilt tire carrier with the Rotopax accessory. I have TWO 3 gallon cans and have even run out of gas on the freeway. I discovered if you are not on level ground you may have to add more than a gallon of gas to get the Jeep to start again. Your videos are well composed, focused, edited, and exposed except when you are shooting inside the Jeep and have to overexpose the outside. I may do some wheelin vids myself someday soon since I plan on building some inventions for my Jeep that I might market later. Actually thinking of making a much cheaper rtt Hard shell made of used parts from other previous functions that can be accessed from inside the Jeep, so lookout Ursa. Saw a video on the even more expensive French, bolt-on, extended version, Ursa-like top and wondered what you would think of it. As for the exposure issue, I suppose the solutions could include using an LED light inside and/or put neutral density film outside on your background windows, or both. Maybe you could make a neutral density “throw” that you could quickly attach outside with magnets. Maybe it doesn’t bother you but I think it’s a weak link in your and another otherwise extremely well produced and shot UA-cam wheeling channel. Hey, have you tried using a bounce to light yourself more in the Jeep? Nobody seems to use them for that but they seem ideal being so lightweight and collapsible. Just a thought.
Wow, I have watched a lot of Jeep upgrade videos lately and you are the first to mention that the factory inverter will shut off before draining the battery. Actually maybe I knew that but do you know if it shuts off just based on time like the interior lights seem to do or based on battery level?
This might seem like a crazy question but: I want to know..how do you use the bathroom out there in the middle of nowhere..do you carry a portopotty🤔🤔🤔??
HI CHRIS 👋 HAVE QUESTION SINCE THE GAIA GPS DOESN'T HAVE / SHOW THE ROUTE YOU FOUND / WAS THERE NOT MARKED . WILL THEY EVENTUALLY PUT IT IN THEIR GPS MAP ? WOULD YOU HAVE TO SEND THEM A EMAIL / ETC . BREATHTAKING BEAUTY COLORS VIEWS LANDSCAPE SCENERY & FOOTAGE ! THE PART ABOUT THE BLACK BEAR 🐻 PROBABLY WOKE YOU UP A LITTLE ? BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON 🙏 YOUR JOURNEYS ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 THANK YOU!
I don't interface with Gaia directly to report problams with their maps; often the different layers are pulled from official sources like USFS and other agencies. Random roads are just part of the journey and fun!
Yes a Mavic pro 2 now with all around avoidance sensors with upgraded tracking . Super simple...A drone shot in Glacier gulch would have been spectacular...You could have flown down into that Glacier cave and explored even more..Keep up the great work cant wait to someday explore like you!
Well at least it was just the Bear 🐻........ There are an estimated 4000 cougars that live in BC and an estimated 600-800 live on Vancouver Island making it the highest concentration for this mountain lion in North America. The highest concentration of cougars are on the north eastern part of the island
Spam is absolutely disgusting no thank you I love all your recommendations I truly do and I really listen to what you say but when it comes to spam I’d rather to my fingernails
Coming from a family of electricians I can’t bring myself to spend a fortune on a genesis type system like you have without investigating cheaper/better alternatives and being a filmmaker I can’t bring myself to buy some of these ultra expensive LED lights. I own some real expensive LEDs for filming but don’t expect to pay a CRI or filmmaker premium for SUV spot lights. These manufacturers see us jeep owners coming. I prefer warmer light anyway. I have an LED light bar I never installed yet but since they all are only for off road use anyway I am tempted to take along one or two LED streetlight heads I bought that have a high CRI index rating and although older, dimmer model are each 37,000 lumens. Can just put them out when off-road so don’t have to clean smashed bugs off after onroading. Put in rear when backing up. Put in front when going forward. May be a bit heavier and not have the throw some of these have but for less than $300 each they’ll do and they’ll make great end tables. Being portable I could blind a bear with them or a neighbor with a noisy generator.
Well, I am officially “hooked!” Love your content and spectacular photography. But what I really love is your personal transparency. Living vicariously through you!
I love it! "We know the road ends... But How? " A Real Explorers Mindset! Chris You are my hero!
I was lucky enough to have this area as my exploring grounds for 11 years. Still love going back! Nothing is quite like it. Many, many good memories.

Spam, poor man's steak! :) Look forward to your weekly videos Chris. We all greatly appreciate you for sharing your life and adventures with us. Thanks!
Brilliantly done. Wow, I’m hooked. Thanks for documenting the travels and adventures. Very enjoyable easy watching.

Loved your B roll footage in this episode. Hope you took a picture of those green reeds in the beautiful light.
Awesome episode. Appreciate the gear review. You photography is noting short of amazing. Great eye. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you & God bless.
A hello from France! I'm a "Jeeper" ;) and I like hiking in the mountains. The black bear ... really very impressing !!! Thanks for your videos. :)
Personally just found your channel, LOVE IT! I really like your calm nature in both narration and editing. Very very nice, you must walk back and forth to the camera a lot! I will check your other video out, Have fun and be safe!
You are an example for me, thank you for sharing.
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this video! Thank you!
I love the laugh right before you holler out at the top of your climb and yet again another great vid... keep on brother.
ONE THING I CAN SAY IS THAT THE COLORS JUST POP OUT OF YOUR VIDEOS! BREATHTAKING!
I love the reference to the fridge and Nokia phone. They were a great line of cell phones.
Wow, Wow, Wow and WOW. what an amazing adventure. Look forward to more videos.
Another great video Chris!! Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels
Nothing but respect for a man that can make a sandwich out of a whole can of SPAM. Well done sir.
I was thinking at the 19:00 mark, if that bear chased you there you would drop everything but the coffee mug. I mean, look at the death grip you had on that mug. Great video btw.
I've been watching for 2 days and I've started from the beginning 😆
my favorite channel. what a freaking beautiful content !!
I think your setup is very cosy. The new Gladiator will be interesting to set up as an overland truck. 🇨🇦
Hey Chris, Thanks for the Glacier Gulch segment especially. Absolutely breathtaking landscape and views. Very nice editing my friend. Roll on (:
Great content as always, Chris! Love your stuff. "look at that smug rock" LOL
Chris you’ve convinced me I need to make it to BC, and your dinner table as well.
The smug rock knows what's up. You do great work Chris. Keep it up
Another great video! And yes, SPAM is amazing.
Twin Falls/Glacier Gulch is a BEAUTIFUL camp ground/area. I was fortunate to visit it a year ago.
You scared off the Black Bear. Hope you had your bear spray close. I see the new green spatula again, with matching knife. The broken black spatula is now gone. Another great video. I usually wait for my Saturday morning coffee to sit back and watch, but decided, why not Friday night. Thanks

wow @ that view of the mountains
My grandparents lived in Burns Lake! We used to drive up there from Oregon to visit. I need to go back up there. Maybe rent a boat and go out to deadman's island.
Beautiful, Chris!
You’ve had a great week, looks like one of your best.
I guess better to see a bear then Bigfoot hahaha. Great video love watching them keep up the good work and be safe.

Gotta love the Engel/ARB fridges. I've got one that is 17 years old still going strong.

What a great existential line: “We know the road ends in 11 kilometers, but we don’t know how it ends ...”
Very well said
Do you feel more secure in the Ursa Minor J30 in bear country? It seems to me it would harder to climb into or tear down, than the tent style with the outside ladder?
Maybe looking getting a Titan TrailTrekker II fuel tank to extend exploring range.
Give bacon spam a try it’s really good. You should check out the DJI spark. Great little drone to get aerial shots. My latest video was a Jeep trip we took and used my drone. Enjoy your channel👍
Good call, letting your mom know you were safe.

In this episode: Chris gets into a direct confrontation with a stoned faced adversary.
That camera explains what I've been noticing about the quality videos you have.
OH thank you Chris.... for getting a new spatula.
Every time watch your videos I want grilled cheese sandwiches lol

You're wasting your time, he doesn't respond to comments.
He bearly made it out of this video alive! 🐻
Awesome video Chris. Do you like the camera that you have been using over the 80d more?
He won't answer your question.
Have you thought of adding an Amazon affiliate link of your gear to the descriptions of your videos? It sure would be helpful to us, and you!
Don't bother asking questions, he doesn't respond to anyone's.
Smithers and Burns mentioned in the same episode. #thesimpsons
This might seem like a crazy question but: I want to know..how do you use the bathroom out there in the middle of nowhere..do you carry a portopotty🤔🤔🤔??
technical hiking? that gave me visions of monty python and the ministry of funny walks
👍😎

This episode was awesome, that glacier hike was amazing. How do you rate the Lumix vs the Canon?
@venture4wd what is youre fridge?
What accessory are you using on your headliner? The one with the magazine pouch?
He doesn't respond to the comment section.
You need a drone that you can set ahead of you, record approach and departure, etc. without having to drive back and forth.
I wonder if there are any that can be custom programmed to properly track you, point at you, etc. whatever way you prefer?
mark pope my Mavic 2 Pro does that no worries
Yes a Mavic pro 2 now with all around avoidance sensors with upgraded tracking . Super simple...A drone shot in Glacier gulch would have been spectacular...You could have flown down into that Glacier cave and explored even more..Keep up the great work cant wait to someday explore like you!
Still epic videos. I’m addicted lol
Walter Willis strict rules for flying drones in Canada makes it difficult sadly.
New spatula? Nice
How do you deal with having a shower?
Do you have a video or post listing the video gear that you use?
Your question will go unanswered, he doesn't slum it down to the comment section.
Did no one else notice the mad dash to the bathroom??
Hey Chris how do you charge your fridge? Just plugged in the Jeep or solar?
He doesn't answer any questions.
He has a 12v socket in the back of the Jeep connected to a dual battery system on the Jeep.
Your video quality is as good as PBS or National Geographic. That camera must be very expensive
Jerome Whitmill lolololololol

I watch every week. Why 360p? Such beautiful landscape cinematography lost in video quality. Keep up the content, I look forward to your episodes.
Probably watched too early.... I've seen some vids post at 360 and then go full 1080 after it had been posted for a while
@@Topo42mh thanks, I was wondering if that was the case.
@@Topo42mh and you are right, it available it 1080p now.
@@n8prkr this videos worth another watch anyways! Ha
@@Topo42mh I agree!
My uncle Joe lived in smithers BC for many years! Said he would never want to move....I see why! RIP uncle Joe!

Love your videos , keep jeep dirty , looks better
Grilled Spam and Cheese, AWESOME!!!!
Well that sucks
I see you finally got a new spatula. What happened to the Patreon post?
This guy doesn't respond to questions, probably doesn't even read the comments.
Spam is where it's at.
Have you ever ran out of gas
He doesn't respond to questions.
You really need to buy a winch
