The cash tweaked my mouse hand a bit, sorry if the edit is a bit messy. Sadly it smashed one lens on the insta360 One X2 :(, so we will be without a 360 camera for a while guys, sorry. Hope the quality reaches expectations. Ride safer guys... safer than me at least ;)

That's a pretty powerful addition to the fleet.Thanks for reviewing it under ever changing road situations.The last video I watched last night,was Motored Life's tear down.He drives,for those that haven't watched him,on mainly city surface streets,and at high speeds.I do back roads,and side streets mainly too,as you've seen,and they're pretty hilly and I need the torque.Next stop,the price check at the sight.

I’ve been waiting a while for this! Can’t wait to see what it looks like after break in. If all goes well, I think this might be my next engine kit! Really wish they made an expansion pipe for it though, that would really set it off. Plus some proper reeds and a mikuni carb... it would be an absolute monster! Great vid as always man! Ride safe 👍

@@jaredbourgeois4722 v3? i thought there was only a v1 & v2??.. you can undo the seize by pouring oil on the piston and letting it soak in for a few days then hit it with a rubber mullet, just hope it hasn't seized completely

Yes, thank you - 32 to 1 is what I've always used in all my 2-cycle, and in four-stroke, sometimes if I'm too lazy to get unmixed gas.

It's my understanding that you want a little 4 stroking when not under load .
I wish I could remember the reasoning behind it however I'm not as smart as the person who made that video .

(edit: I made this comment before watching the whole thing, sorry about that!) 6:28 that's an interesting design with the transfer ports. They reduced the piston skirts sides to make for a transfer port passage instead of making a hole beside (or sometimes all the way through) the cylinder. The piston ended up looking like a from a 4 stroke dirt bike. I wonder why they went with this design (maybe an attempt to stuff the case?) but man, it does the job really well! I love how it sounds and it seems that the power is really there from down low on the revs. Good stuff!

I have been watching for more updates, the phantom really sounds great on the video, I usually only mess with zeda 80 trip 40’s… I have to try the intake boost port like your video showed on the firestorm…cheers

It's not really 100cc it's 80 cc call it a 100cc because outside dimensions call it 100cc for marketing purposes but if due the proper math it's 80 cc

I just rode on one of these today and it was insane! I have a thrown together China doll we threw together with spare parts from like 3 kits, I got the YD 100 coming in but my buddy is building someone a bike with the phantom and we wanted to test it out on my frame sine I got extra thick gauge spokes on my rear and it immediately blew us all away with its power!
I thought the 2nd gen comes with the roller style wrist pin? I just watched a clip it was posted 4 weeks ago so. Guessing it's the 2nd gen now I noticed he has the graphite infused wrist pin not the roller pin any help would be appreciated highly I spent a lil more then I would like to have on a lil engine like this just to have it blow up on me
Wish I could justify getting a kit like this but concindering my current engine runs good and I now have a identical spare engine cause got my wife one so we could ride together and it was too much of a pain for her to start and the kit dont really like to ride slow. So we got her a friction drive, making it an automatic and turned out that's perfect. Now she can start it before she gets on the bike and ease up to whatever speed she wants.

From what I've seen, the bottom end of this motor including the piston rod are Identical to the YD100. If you swapped the cylinder jug, piston, and added the reed valve and the proprietary exhaust pipe, you'd have a Phantom 85
Yeah by the time you try to do the upgrades to a YD 100 to match the power of that phantom you would’ve spent enough money to get 2 YD 100s I just want to know how much this phantom deal cost delivered to my house I just bought a YD 100 did not take it out the box yet ready to return it now just to get this phantom everything about this motor kit is awesome no complaints I don’t need the huge expansion pipe and The noise it comes with

Im not a huge fan of the one piece jugs but id be lying if i said i didnt have a chubby right now lol,,,, i think i like it...I really like the sound of it too..Looks great man, thanks for the vid, i been anxiously waiting ,,,.Take care!! 1 piece is better for stock because it makes cooling much better. The jug helps cool the head since there isn't a gasket in the middle to block thermal transfer.
@@wtcamer I have the yd100, although I don't hate it, I'm not a huge fan.. not saying they're bad I just like the upgrade features on being able to change heads and stuff..
@@413MassDigger Valid point. Better heads are nice, but cooling at this displacement is important. I'm sure upgrades will come along. It's the new king of off the shelf affordable bike motors.

@@wtcamer the gasket is steel. That's pretty good at conducting heat. It's more the lack of head gasket failure being an issue that is the positive aspect.
I might buy one of this and it's probably perfect for a 26er Fatbike.

I got a tribrid build, unless you can run 30 consistently with no sound i dont even have a reason to kick the engine on lol
Its mostly for pulling on cars and dead stop pulls when im trying to jump but off, both are a backup to the other if one fails
Stock mix sounds perfect 4 stroke when you let off is what you want . 25/1 on an air cooled engine with a good load will keep it happy for a long time..My engine after 8 years is still perfect chec it out.

Maybe one day I’ll upgrade to this.. But for now my bike is running so great. Just ordered a thumb throttle tonight as well and some new nice grips. It’ll be here next week. I’m excited to try it out. Do you like the thumb throttle more than the regular throttle?
The transfer ports still help I have two engines one with stuff ports one with regular ports. The one with regular ports seem to drive better for some odd reason I’m still messing with it, but I need to know more.

What a package! Reed valve yes! Just need to put an adjustable carburetor on it with hi low idle jet adjustments. Always Be Tuning! ABT check out Aftermarket Carburetor Walbro WB-37-1 Airplane 150cc-200cc Paramotor Engine $38 with hi low.

I would put the tensioner on backwards, then replace the tensioner wheel with one of those fatties with the two berrings, like the ones that come on the spring tensioners that bolt on to the 2-stroke engine cases, with a long 8mm bolt.

I like new durable engine with power. I have a leaf blower with a 78.5cc 2 stroke 2 handed, with 4 hp. I can imagine how good it is for bikes.
Years ago I built a bike with an SD stinger kit. I bought some stuff from pirate cycles and had alot of fun with it. But that engine always 4 stroked at cruise like you are mentioning. It seemed to get much worse after I took the baffle out of the muffler. So what I was thinking is maybe that larger exhaust on this one correlates with the reduced back pressure I had going on. Both causing the same thing? Also it could be happening from too much oil in the mixture pretty sure. I always ran like 20:1 25:1 the whole time..

Last year, my personal bike had a genuine zeda motorsports engine (one of the last ones). I dremeled a 3rd transfer port, and cut a window in the piston. I put a oko21 carb on it. It had 36t. It's not a Minarelli or a saw engine, but it did 53mph on a good day. It never ran perfect, and in the end my build was more reliable, and almost as fast, With a mildly ported g4 cylinder and the stock intake and carb.
In my opinion... This looks just awesome. No hacking, waiting 3 months for a custom engine, seems like a powerhouse (for a bicycle), and all the parts are made better! $300? $250 for a Minarelli cylinder.. than where do you buy the exhaust and how much $$?

Have always wondered why there isn't a variator/clutch cvt made for these. Seems like it would help bottom end and allow better gearing. I guess it's just too much. Lower power motors would probably not like the parasitic losses, but it seems like it would be great for something like this. Would probably require a freewheel and pull start tho
Make your own using a Hemmings cluthch.
They seem to be originally go ped engines, being on the back of a scooter I'd imagine size and placement would be the reasoning. Elsewise you'd essentially have what is the Ruckus-esq design
What oil do you use for this engine? I can’t seem to find what’s mentioned in the instructions as “Valvoline Two Stroke Racing Oil,” is this the same as Valvoline multi purpose oil for two stroke engines? I also already have Lucus’s semi-synthetic 2-Cycle oil, is it safe to use?
With Amsoil dominator you can break in with 50to1 really good oil there's also amsoil Saber I've personally broken engines in with at 90to1

You need a bike with a bigger frame! With your size its hard to keep your weight from dumping the bike when you are going down hill or turning. That is why taller guys ride bikes with longer frames. A longer frame would help you keep the front end on the ground.

It's all about feel. You obviously slow down at curves and check for loose gravel etc. You speed it up and center going into hills. That's the fun.

I personally make the 4 stroke trade off however I wounder what this motor would preform like with a jack shaft kit like the one sick bike parts makes??

What kind of bicycle is ideal for this kit? I have a 27 inch Trek beach cruiser that I am thinking about putting this motor on, is a Trek beach cruiser a good choice for this kit?

It's not uncommon on the smaller engine MX bikes to have the engine load up with excess fuel after getting out of the throttle. If you watch any MX bike videos you'll notice riders revving out the engine with the clutch feathered in the corners. This is actually for 2 reasons, to control the power delivery and to help clean out the engine before really hammering the throttle before a jump or other obstacle.
I think it needs that extra oil coming down from full throttle where it’s trying to seize itself
@user-vh7ki7xu7o yes, it does not hurt to have the extra fuel and oil coming off wide open throttle like that, two strokes are rather finicky. When they run well, they scream!!
I bought one of those engines today it's the 1st I've ever gotten or will have used whenever I get it , I'm not sure if I should be relieved I bought something good or intimidated
Put that reed, yd windowed piston, and mess with the cylinder gaskets to get the right timing in a YD100. That will fold the bike frame in half.
