Man you know how to make anything look good. Personally I can't stand the look of the peanut tanks, but thissun is acceptable. I've really appreciated the ones you build on motorized bicycle frames and felt fakers. I have a Phatmoto and it looks pretty slick too, thinking about getting another just to use the bicycle part and make it a two stroke beast. Either that or a predator ghost or something powerful. Thanks for the videos man, I have a lot to learn before I figure out how to get one to go 75mph.
I have a phantom 85 v3 on a cheap walmart bike with 29" wheels, a 36t sproket, and about 3500 miles on it, and still run 25:1 fuel mix as a bit of insurance.. im sure im losing a little power from that mix but it still has plenty.. At about 1200 miles i took it apart and used a dremel to port the intake and exhaust on the head, being careful to not change the timing on them and just that and a good ngk plug made a huge difference. Im hitting 49mph on flat ground and i weigh 240lbs lmao.. it rips!
That 85 phantom engine just arrived in Mexico but the dealer does not want to sell it yet because he waits for the dollar price to increase more to sell it more expensive, like $ 1000 dollars approximately.
looks good will sound better once its broke in and re tuned im sure . i dont think it will be long and they will come out with parts for this engine . and that will open up new expansion mods for the yd 100 . basically making it easier for yd 100 owners to turn there yd 100's into phantom 85s . cause we all know it is just the head and piston and muffler that is new . the bottom or lower case is all yd 100 right to the crank arm its self . if they dont come out with replacement parts for it that will be sad in its self making the motor not worth the cost . we all know how being able to rebuild these china dolls is fundamental. not to mention the fact that being able to mod them allows us to grow with out braking the bank to do so .
Don’t stock yd100’s go like 40mph? I do think the kit has potential with the right expansion chamber and a bigger carb. Maybe even using a g2 reed might give ya some gains. I think the kit does have potential for 50-60 mph but i recommend replacing the bushing in the piston with something of better to ensure a longer life
@@aussieferrari6624 I’ve never bought a yd100 so I can’t actually tell you what to expect besides what other people have put on the internet. I will say that these motors are tuned rich from the factory to help people not blow em up, but might make them ride a little slower. Some cylinders may have better ports/port timing than others and you need to be able to make decent power in order to pull a smaller sprocket.
Nice video. I just blew that motor up. It was fast but now I'm struggling to find a new piston and rings the lower end is easy to replace and the cylinder sustained no damage but the piston and rings are gone I'd like to rebuild it.
well some tips for you all.. The springer forks nice but the issues i incurred with the forks is the top of the spring plate headset mount will bend eventually, solution is to use two spring top headset plates.. To get to max performance from these 2 stroke engine, is to adjust the fuel cock to a minimum flow..You will feel it kick in like a turbocharger as the carburetor float minimize fuel consumption..last is that after a 2 stroke get so hot it will continue to run without any spark, kill switch will not work..A clutch stall and fuel shutdown will stop engine from running..Last thing is 2 stroke will spit out unburned oil on your bike.. Ride fast or stay at home......
yo, love the setup. as for the clutch lever, i used to use a 3 speed derailleur shifter for 2 builds, would recommend that over the levers due to if you crash the bike on that lever, you can break it off. also I'm working something for the future of motorized bicycles, probably a potential frame, while I'm working on cruiser build to be a fully themed bike(Iron Maiden), for it's for a special cannonball run I'm doing ok these bikes (pompano beach to key west and back) and i would need tips for this trip work out perfectly (will let others join me for some parts but majority of the trip I'm looking forward to experience with a small group of people who are on that trip. hopefully I'll see about this build more ad well how much that engine can pull.

I feel the motor is overpriced.. it is 3x the cost of a standard engine. 95% of the parts components are the same. Costs little more to produce. Yes it performs better but NOT 3x better than a simple ported motor.
They tend to cut corners on a lot of these "performance kits". They often include some legitimate performance performance parts, but they'll hold back on other things. Kind of like offering a GT80 case reed kit with the standard cheap muffler or one of those crappy banana pipes.

The phantom 85v3 is the best engine kit you can buy. Why not pay more from a quality distributor for the $300. It is very powerful but you still need to break it i in nicely
YD 100 bottom. They are trash. Unbalanced cranks, crappy clutch springs. Had 4 Yds, and all of the clutches gave out. Just buy a Don Butler or Ken Hinson motor. Great looking show piece tho!!

I keep seeing throttle cables with a boot at the carburetor end, presumably to keep out water? Mine didn't come with one of these. Any idea where I could buy one?
I hate waiting to get it broke in. It's worth it but I'm impatient and it's still cold where I live. It's actually snowing right now so when the weather is a little better I go for a ride but any longer than 20 minutes and your freezing but it'll warm up soon and do you know what size jet it comes with?
replace it. its designed to be replacable. just replace it if you feel that way. the bottom end is a stock yd100, and yes i think ive heard those motors have that issue. The bushing size is 12x14x15.
Is your Electra a tall frame or not. I have the same bike but it's a 26 inch tall frame. And I want to get some forks but the neck is so long on it.what size of fork did you have to get

Yes I will. So far we added a RM85 pipe, better NGK spark plug, G2 Reed with a Mikuni clip on carb 23mm, and got 42mph. Still 4 strokes like a bit**. Need to tune the carb better or balance the ignition and should confidently do 50mph! We will keep you guys posted.
The jug and piston are MS460 based, but they are not direct copies of them either. Stroke on this engine is longer than the MS460 engine, hence the 85cc displacement. Intake and exhaust ports are shaped a bit differently (not including the flanges). The transfer ports are actually fairly close to the same as the original. Port timing is modified a bit but not too far off. These won't rev as high as an MS460 can, but make a lot more power down low.
Get a different style chain tensioner. If that thing loosens up it will fall right into the rear.rim and lock it up. One thing I've learned from my daily drivers anything that can fall into or onto the tire is bad. I wanna get a mean motorized bike but I'm addicted to my puch. Yeah you could use some different jetting and your getting some pretty loud topend noise. Try putting another gasket between the top and bottom end and that should go away. God bless please stop at stop signs and red lights it will not only keep you alive but people find it rude and disrespectful when you dont and then they call the cops and that's never good
Been checking gas bike laws here in Florida and it seems I may need to get a moped tag. What BS , if it's electric po po won't mess with you. Gas motors are in a grey area and who ever wrote the laws must of had his head up his you know where.

These engines are trash 95% have top end failure before break in period is though. Wrist pin bushing are junk and intake ports are way to wide and cause rings to snag. Overpriced turd! You can build better engine for half that price, $100 ebay triple 40mm 80cc kit and $30 ms460 52mm chainsaw top end' $20 G2reed.

I love phantom 85 muffler I cut it just to weld a 85 cc two stroke dirt bike pipe on it It works so well.

I just got mine!, and halfway into breakin, little nervous, but so far so good, and they gave me mini roller bearings for upgrade on piston

I have the same frame. Hub mounted sprocket adapter was how I got around the chain issue

retard the timing so it doesn't 4s so much. Will likely loose some of the very top end, but it will be a much better ride all around.

It's not broken in and the timing needs to be retarded a bit. 4 stroking a lot. Also that 40 mph probably isn't w/ a 220lb rider :)
I have a non broken in yd100 and i weight 50kg and it only goes 25mph with a smaller sprocket idk why its so shit and no air filter

It’s simply a clamp on style. Just tighten the bolt and that’s it!

The ms380 piston will fit. Just needs to be windowed.

Switch to a normal bearing and 10mm wrist pin. Put bushings in the pistion instead.

Surprised they don't give you a 415h. I would think the regular 415 would be a disaster with that engine.

Intake ports are to large in cylinder causes ring snags and piston rock witch wears out already thin cylinder plating instantly. $300 boat anchor!

If this engine doesn't get to at least 50, why bother? Yd 100 or triple 40 with a decent pipe and reed valve is gonna get you that.

MS460 = 76.5cc. It's in the 1122 family. More like an 064 top end.
