As a longtime yoga pracitioner who has had two herniated disk surgeries, and who had to learn about the dangers of back flexion the hard way (from a physical therapist) I deeply appreciate your offering to the millions of us who suffer from bad disks. I'm amazed there is not more stuff out there like this. Most "yoga for back pain" videos just aggravate the issue. This is brilliant. Thank you!!!
Agree 100 % most video's make it worse because they have no clue how the body actually functions. They might give some instant relief for an hour, but your back is worse later on the day.
I honestly can’t think of a better way to start my day
Thank you for starting your day with my classes
This series is hands down the best practice I have seen and my disc bulge has been on going for several years .
Thank you for these videos.
Thank you so much. It is great to hear!
As someone who is suffering from herniated disc for over five months now, this yoga was the most effective thing I found. Celest, thanks a lot for creating this gem for people who have been in excruciating pain for so long. I have been practising this yoga for a month now and I am almost pain free. The compassion with which you teach how to switch between postures truly shows how much effort you are putting in the well being of your viewers. Stay blessed.
I just discovered this series and am ever so thankful! After doing yoga for years I ended up with not one but two bulging discs and had to stop doing yoga. I have been missing it so much! I had a microdisectomy in August and the doc just cleared me to do yoga again, but of course no forward folds. So after doing some searching, I found your series. Thank you so much for putting it together!
I’ve been doing yoga everyday for over 5 years now and recently injured my back- doing yoga (☹️). I never realized that flexion could be a bad thing for my back- until now. My doctor said “no more yoga”. I couldn’t believe it! I just found these videos- a lucky accident- and I’m so happy! Thank you so very much. We missed you, by the way! Please do more videos- if you love it? We adore you and appreciate you so very much! Thanks again.
same here. couldn't have said it better
This happened to me 4 years ago I started Yoga as I had bad anxiety and started getting pain down my left side and tight on my left inner thigh and in the last yet it just got worse as I didn't treat it and the doctor sent me for an Xray and said noting was wrong then 4 years later it got worse and the doctor sent me for an MRI scan and showed I have a herniated disc I always knew it might have been the Yoga or at least started from Yoga because of over stretching now I get hip throbbing and pain down my leg if I walk too much. I am glad I have found Pilates recently to help and at the same time it tones you. I hope your back get better
Thank you. The first teacher I have seen that doesn't dive right into an extension pose when doing yoga for "disc or back health". Thank you. These feel so good, just after I can move again after a disc slipped, I started watching you. Very glad I did!
About 18 mo. ago, after scrutiating pain I found out I have a bulging disk. I had 9 months of various physical therapists and NO RESULTS. Then I found out your videos, and in 3 months I was back to a normal life! Now every time my back flares up I come back to your routine and voilá, one week with Celest and my back is good again. Unvbelievable! Girl, I love you, you are miraculous!
Besides from the GREAT CLASS, your support words, how yo repeat the mistakes we might be doing... it's incredibly helpful, every word you say. Immensely grateful.
Thankyou celest . I’m a yoga teacher, so these are really good for me very subtle but powerful, after years doing a vinyasa flow, I have to be careful regarding forward folding, I keep my knees soft now instead if hinging from the hips.
Your videos have saved me. I’m 30 with a herniated disc and two bulging discs. The pain I’ve experienced is so bad sometimes that I can’t even stand or walk. I’ve had two epidurals and surgery isn’t an option right now. My doctor recommended yoga but every time it left me in pain. Now I realize it was from bending my back. Ever since I’ve been found your yoga videos for herniated discs I’ve noticed a huge difference. The pain radiating down my back into my hip and leg is gone. I’ve also trained myself to not bend my back. Thank you for your videos 🙏
xabkx could you tell me please, which one of her videos did you do? And how many times did you do per day?
vattanak viseth the link is an older one that I do mostly. I do them all now, but started off with one since that’s the first one I came across. I just do one of the videos every other day now. Starting off I did it daily for about two weeks. Hope this helps you! ua-cam.com/video/bvLpOGy22Nc/v-deo.html
I am on the road to recovery from a prolapsed disc and started doing your yoga - oh my gosh my legs are killing me 😁 so good to be able to do some challenging yoga and feel it working.. Thank you
Excellent. As an 81 year old retired physician with disc issues, I really appreciate your instructions. Sorry I just discovered you several months ago.
[Daily Update] Chad’s Herniated Disc Journey...
Day 1... So much easier on me than week 1!!
A lot of these poses were part of the previous 27 days of Hatha Yoga I did before realizing I most likely have a herniated disc. So I found them helpful but also felt it was within my abilities.
Week one focused so much on core and balance which are both very weak for me. I can definitely see me going back to week 1 after I finish the 4-week program.
Thank you Celeste.
----------
Day 2... Feel Like I am getting it!
Definitely able able to keep my lumbardosis (sp?) about 85% of the time without much thought. Even firing my glutes seems to be coming to me more naturally.
I really appreciate how much you explain every little thing Celeste. It is nice not to feel lost.
Thank you.
-------
Day 3 - Definitely getting more confidence and strength.
I am doing well with holding my extension. Keeping the glutes firing on the way down is a bit challenging.
Thank you for this Celeste. Definitely healing myself slowly with your help.
--------
Day 4... Threaded the needle (kinda!)
I skipped a day yesterday as I pushed things a bit to hard and felt I needed to rest.
Definitely feeling stronger and more confident. Extension and glute activation feel like they are happening more naturally now.
NOTE: the rolling over on my stomach is challenging. I find that if I reach one of my hands above my head then roll to that side it is easier.
Thank you for this Celeste.
------
Day 5... Back still hurts but definitely getting stronger.
Thank you Celeste.
-------
Day 6 - Feeling confident and strong.
Threading the needle felt very powerful. I feel like I can hold everything longer and am present enough to make small adjustments.
Thank you Celeste.
------
Day 7... Ready for week 3
Skipped another day yesterday as I finding other stuff too.
Looking forward to the first week 3 class tomorrow.
This series is saving me!!
You are really doing God's work with these videos.
Best disc work I have found. It makes my day so much better!
Aww thank you so much x
Thank you thank you, I am recovering from a prolapsed disc, I am so so sad I haven't practiced any yoga for over a month, nothing. I am slowly getting confident to start movement again and your videos are a godsend. :-) looking forward to video 3 tomorrow x
This series so far has really helped my disc. A lotus for you 🙂
Really great info and videos. Really appreciate your info, enthusiasm and passion! Love this series of videos!
Thank you Celest! I can´t wait for another video :)
I love these herniated disc videos ❤️ so helpful during my latest injury
thanks for putting these out, Celest, they have been instrumental to my healing process and learning the different ways to promote that
You are appreciated. happy thanksgiving
be easy
This is the best series. I've gone through it several times in a row. Each time, I get better, can do more, and the pain goes away a little more each day. 💖
Thank you these really help!!
I did the first 2 videos together and my lower back is feeling great! Thank you for these videos!
I’ve practised yoga on and off forever! I have to be very careful with a prolapsed disc and recently it’s been a lot worse and had to stop. I can still do dance classes most of the time. I’m hoping these classes will strengthen my weak core and legs and happy I can practise again thank you 😊 🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing this video. Hope you post more.
Thank you so much for these videos! If you have more to share, please do! Herniated discs are the worst.
Thank you so much! I've just published many more videos for herniated disc on my app AnatoMove. I hope that helps
Thank you for all your h-disk yoga vids I love that I don't have to stop doing yoga so thank you🙏❤🙏
thank you soooooo much- I had a back surgery due to severe disk herniation ( could not walk) 10 months ago, recovering now. I used to do a lot of yoga ( with too much flection:) prior to the injury, so your classes really help to figure out what is safe to do in my condition
Thank you so much this has been so exactly what my body needs. Safe strengthening exercises.
Wonderful!
Thank you! This is incredibly helpful. I'm 22 years old and I have a minor herniation. This is so important for me and has helped quite a bit
These are so helpful
Recently found out I have a herniated disk and have been in horrible pain. I can’t stop crying but hopefully I found your Chanel. New subbie here
thank you!
As with the previous exercises - simple, safe, supported. And I feel as though my core fired up. Really excellent.
Glad you like them!
Thank you so much 🌹
thank you im feeling stronger everyday with less pain
Thanks so much for this series. I’ve just been diagnosed while in the middle of a 30 day practice ….. you stopped me making things worse!
I love your videos. I was very worried and scared to continue doing yoga because of my bulged disc. It would be a great help if you can do more videos.
2nd day in a row waking up with you Celeste - what a treasure you are! I’m learning so much from you and can’t believe how many years I’ve been harming myself with constant forward flexion which has caused a herniated disc and a lot of hip and leg pain. I start physical therapy tomorrow but will continue doing your videos as well since I love your positive spirit and glowing beauty! You are so adorable!😘🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing! So so incredible!
Thank You! :)
You are saving my life!
How?
Love this series Celeste when I have a herniated disc x
Thank you Beverley
Fantastic ❤
Thanks for your yoga instruction Celest. This is an excellent and clear video which I have used for several weeks having hurt my back. The last few times an advert for the Mayfair Clinic and an Uber advert has interrupted your video, completely spoiling your class. How can I stop the interruptions? Advice welcome.
Great one
Will follow the whole series
thank you so much. I've also just added a whole new series on my app AnatoMove
Hi. Firstly I appreciate to whatever you have done to take us away from pain. I'm 28 years and this damn pain ruin my dreams and I become depressed. I did everything, but still I am being the same in first days. I don't know what to do 😞
Thank you very much. Your videos are so helpful. For some reason I could not do the movement at min 8:00
Thaaaaaank yooooooou ❤
Unfortunately the specific move of keeping the back in an arch whilst doing the bridge pose and the first modification has sent me to A&E. This 100% isn’t for me, I have a bulging L5S1 disc, so this is a heads up for anyone else
I love these. But do you have any videos for cervical herniated discs?
I just launched one today !!
Really grateful for this series for herniated disc (L5-S1) , Thank You
Hi , i have also henited disc with tingling in leggs , can u tell me wich yoga exercises help u and i hope that u completely feel relief!!
@@marwanmimo6164 Cobra pose, or the McKenzie exercise really helps, then once you start improving do the McGill Big 3 exercises.
@@carmenwarmenhove6308 thanks 🙏🏼 hope u doing well, im suffring with tingling in legs honestly i hope it worked for me, no pain in legs amymore???
@@marwanmimo6164 My back is basically better, no more tingling. I have to get a hip replacement so that might have been the cause of back being out of place
@@carmenwarmenhove6308 how long does it take for feel no pain on leggs or tingling in leggs ?
Is there someone has a herniated disc l5 s1 and these yoga exercises work ?!??
I have a large L5 S1 herniation/extrusion. These videos definitely help. If I do 1-2/day from this series I feel pretty good. I still have to avoid sitting, minimise driving especially, walk/exercise, avoid flexion and take my Naproxen (lol, what a list!) ...but without these videos, all those other things don’t quite cut it. These videos have totally been saving my physical and mental health since I found them.
Should I do the classes every day? I mean. Class 1 Monday thru Friday and week after class 2 Monday thru Friday?
I'm wondering the same thing.
That was remarkable. Thank you. (Youre remarkable too(
Nice👍🏿🌹
thanks! x
are these exercises for any area of the back if herinated , could you specify, i have 3 bulging discs in the thoracic area, would this suit me, thanks a lot.
Yes you can use this class. But everyone is different, so definitely try it and be mindful with your body
You can also head over to my app AnatoMove where you will find many more videos for herniated disc
