I agree Bill. They’re more sport influenced and subsequently the ride like crap compared to these. Now I’ll get attacked……….. “But these Cadillacs don’t corner well or handle well , they’re sloppy , floaty etc”. Well when one lives in a big city like I do (NYC) with terrible pot hole ridden streets RIDE COMFORT is way more important then to be able to hug a curve at 110 mph. Lolololol. Plus the New Cadillacs are made like crap and have poor electronics that will render them useless within 10-12 years. Built on obsolescence !!
I don't think I had ever seen this edition Cadillac from that year. It comes with those GM wire wheels I talk about that enhance the elegance of these vehicles. RIP to the original owner, this vehicle stays behind as a proof of her good taste.
That's a beauty. I have a 1990 and parts are getting to be a real issue but I've declared I want to be buried in it. So I have something to cruise around in the afterlife. 😁
These were very good cars. Cadillac took a lot of flak for the down-sizing from the big-barge folks, but, it gave Cadillac a chance to tighten-up their products. One of the most notable changes was in the handling, nimble and quick. Strictly finger & Toe. (Even the Fleetwood Seventy-Fives were like driving a sportscar compared to what they had been!) At that time parking spaces were shrinking in size as more and more small cars entered the market place. A lot of people drove out of the door with a down-sized Cadillac the first time we got them to parallel park or park in a busy and tight parking lot! A great selling point at the time especially if they had just come from the Lincoln showroom! Some of the fit and finish issues from '74,'75,76, were mostly eliminated. The engine/ drive train is practically bullet proof with proper regular maintenance. The paint was not their strongest point, so keep it waxed/ceramic coated, etc. and the vinyl-top nourished. I always encouraged customers to keep a white towel in the car to cover the steering-wheel during the hot months as the center cross-bar can crack with age. The 1977/1978/1979 Cadillacs were, generally-speaking, very good cars for the money in those days. The Fleetwood Brougham (with the lowered roof) was a particular stand-out. The down-sized1979 Eldorado (with the new engine package) was outstanding and every one we got FLEW out the door.
Great looking Cadillac, dark green metalic is not easy to keep in mint condition. Similar to Black, every minute imperfection will shout at you, sometimes it's best to leave them alone, as touch ups can fade to a different shade after a while.
Again absolutely beautiful car the Chrome piece on the pillar between the front and the back door is aftermarket so if they're not in the best shape not a big deal to remove. I love the vent shades which were popular back then. In my opinion the 78 was the best-looking between 77, 78 and 79
@@christianbugatticg yes not Factory. On the Sedan DeVille the pillars were painted in the center. On the Fleetwood the vinyl top actually came down the center pillar to a semi V on 77 78 and 79
Bill you def find em!!!! Another lovely car. I’m partial to the Lincoln’s from this era and older, but can appreciate this Cadillac. Nice riding cars and made you feel special! You always go above and beyond I really respect that!
This is when Cadillac was a dream car, outstanding well preserved car! 👍
Yes and thank you!
One of my favorite years.
Yes for sure! Thank you!
Back at that time buying this still meant you had arrived. What a pristine example and it still has that showroom shine to it.
Oh for sure!
This is a beautiful looking Cadillac ! I would love to have this one !

OMG, they are almost a disgrace today!

If you took off the markings and put one next to a Honda, I couldn't tell you which was which.
Yeah today, too many cars look alike.
@@jakereal3604 no you are right.
Beautiful Cadillac. I have a 78 Coupe deVille in Cotillion white with metallic Mulberry vinyl top and leather interior.

Thank you! Actually her son bought this car in remembrance of her. He was with her in 1978 when she went in and bought this exact car new.
Beautiful sedan de ville

Nice Cadillac for sure but I notice a Bill Blass Mark V in the background is that the one you sold a few weeks ago or is this a different one?
Same one, the gentleman bought 2 cars and we put the double striped white wall on both of them. Now they are ready for shipping!!
Bill , are the 70s body more sleek or trimmed than the 90s , Thank you , Fla Ted.
Well they are longer and edgier in my opinion. To me they all look good! lol
