Previous comments are correct; Fisher Body painted the body from the front doors back, and Cadillac painted the hood and front fenders. The cars were not painted with the bodies fully assembled.

Looks all original to me, camera's in mobile phones are not that well calibrated so i would never rely on slight changes in hue indicating a repaint. Give me the 76 one any day over the 90's ones, by then they started to look boring.

If you want the REAL DEAL, this car does not even come close. Corrective painting, buffing, yea I get it. However, for styling, NOTHING is equal to the 1967 Eldorado. Paint is not in competition with styling. Cadilliac had "cheapened" the build quality at this time also.

Hey C, does that Caddy come with the "Golden Shower" option or is that an aftermarket feature. Now that my old buddy Crackhead Hunter is out of trouble, he might be interested, but I want a commission. I don't see any difference in the paint. I'm not a Cadillac man but the front-end styling has a commanding presence that says class. Pardon me for saying, I'm an alpha male Lincoln man and if I really needed a pardon, I'd know where to go. Bill - I believe back in the day fenders were painted separately from rest of car then put on the car later on down the line.

Oh my god lord, out in the open daylight it pops even more, even when quite overcast as during filming this particular footage, what an absolutely beautiful vehicle, these make their contemporary rolls royces of the era appear rather bland in comparison. Also, for another thing, tremendous physical shape good American Sir, 💪👍🏻 respect.

I never had a car seat or wore a seatbelt until i joined the military in the late 80's... I remember getting rear ended at a stop sign when i was about 4 or 5 in Mom's maverick, i just bounced off the back of the front seats , no harm no foul 😅....

Strictly for a collector of one off cars. There are been many attempts over the years at fitting RR grills, and few look any good. plus RR will take legal action as they rightly claim it damages the brands image when done badly. Good luck with this one Bill.

Who on earth fitted that grille and bumper, talk about panel gaps visible from space ! The concept is certainly different, but those gaps let it badly down. OK for someone prepared to improve it and make it look like a finised job.

I like the wheel covers better than the chrome wheels. Great choice. Was fuel injection an option on the Eldorado and were the original tires Michelin. I'll take fuel injection over a carburetor any day. I do have a carb adjustment tool but nothing to use it on. 26 actual miles, that's amazing. Talk about a time capsules. Hello Bill !! Those black wheel covers have always been my favorite style offered from Caddy. My dad had a 1974 Coupe de Ville in Andes Copper with a white cabriolet roof and terra cotta leather interior. He gave this car to my mom when he brought a new 1977 Fleetwood Brougham in white with white vinyl top and baby blue leather. The Fleetwood Brougham had matching white wheel covers, and I felt the Coupe de Ville needed something similar. So I took the wheel covers off the CDV, popped the crests off them, and then cleaned them really good. I went to the local hardware store and brought a few yards of black contact paper. I applied the contact paper to the center of each wheel cover, trimmed the contact paper really well with a razor knife, and then put the crests back on them. When I put the finished wheel covers back on the CDV, they looked amazing and no one could believe how I transformed them. Even with all that Brooklyn driving, they held up well and looked new for years.

Great job Bill! I grew up with my mother buying a new Cadillac every year. Once she became single (after divorcing my father), she switched from DeVilles to Elorados. I remember these cars VERY well. An option about these wheel covers (as they were called then), you could have ordered them from Cadillac/GM as "color-coded" to match the paint color. I believe this red color was one of Cadillac's famous Firemist color oprtions. Only the Fleetwood Brougham, Seville and the Eldorado (formerly known as the Fleetwood Eldorado) had the wreath & crest--and the other models had only the crest. If the dealer (or customer) would have ordered the color-coded wheel covers, the black background would be deleted and matched the Red Firemist body paint. Well-done gents!
