That low height really offset everything however long and wide they were, (oh and of course highly elegant), I don't like it one bit man I really wanted the long and tall automobiles, make Teslas sweat when they roll by on their emotionless wheels/frame/everything, making the passengers feel every dent in the surfaced ground, like a first class seizure everytime that damn thing hits a brick road or Satan forbid a pebble galloway. Next to that thing, a Cruiser such as the Imperial, of a Oldsmobile, or a Lincoln! well by jove! It can ram a railroad at 50 miles per hour and Nancy. well, she'd have the finest stroke of liner on her dazzling eyelid and the sharpest outline on her Royal red lips with that slightly tiny miniscule bump in the road that only a theorist would dare think is a train track. Truly fine living, and fine lining, especially on those ship liners. the SS Cadillac, no not super sport, but Sailing ship Cadillac. Hell, HMS worthy.
Well, well, what a pleasant surprise to come across this absolute gem. The new, trimmer De Ville and Fleetwood cars were a terrific design and have aged well. This is one of the nicest cars I’ve seen, and I tremendously enjoyed the ride. Cheers from Hong Kong.
These were stunningly beautiful cars. My aunt had a 1977 Sedan DeVille, triple yellow. I still remember that new car smell. I was just 10 years old. Life was better then. Way better.
Mom had the '78 2-door coupe in triple black with red pinstripes. That thing drove so nice and was a great car! That 425 V8 was full of torque and way better than the later crap engines like the 4100, 8-6-4 and the 307. This was the last good one!
Owned one in the '80's, same year, same color - except mine came with 270,000 miles on it. Loved that car and loved working on it. Finally gave up the ghost at about 450 k miles. ("Ghost" - almost didn't stop with brake pedal to the floor; checked rear drums and filed with axle grease. For a brief second, I said "CHange the entire rear end? Piece of cake!" That would be laying in the gutter on a NYC street; I quickly and sadly came to my seneses.)
Where & how did you mount the camera to get that perspective? What’s that white thing that is in the lower right corner of the screen? Good job. Beautiful color on the Cadillac. I didn’t realize how good looking the ‘78s were.
wow !... I know, everyone else will be mad to me but Cadillac DeVille is the king of all brands ..... 70's - 80's fleetwood and brougham models should be produced with little quantity.... enjoy it ;))
Great video! Having such an excellent car and clocking only 21km miles since 1978 is like having a beautiful young wife and never making love to her. If I had that car, I would do less those 21,000 miles every year with a very wide smile on my face.
The 1979 steering wheel is also different,. The seats are different. The power window switches are different. There are several subtle difference s between the 78 & 79
Wow , great video, the old caddys gave the supreme ride like my 81 fleetwood i had that no other manufacturer has matched since. . Nice to see you drive a Cadillac how it should be driven. Better than my 94. I feel sorry for Archie Blunder who needs a life and to appreciate what he is watching as it could even be a 78 first registered in 79.
THAT'S WHAT A CADDY IS SUPPOSED TO BE! Flat, soft, smooth, silent & squishy. My uncle has s pretty new one & it just flung us from one end of the interior to the other til I was nigh on to car sick. It gave my aunt diarrhea! Miserable junker. He said it was supposed to be more like a European car. Which one? A Yugo...? You know if that's the kind of car someone they do still make European cars for that.
My friend's Dad had the same year same color Caddy I remember when his Dad let us take it out, incredible ride and very comfortable This buddy brings back great memories my folks were great friends with his folks friends Dad served in the US Army many years including in Korean War. We all looked after their house for the 4 years their Dad was stationed in Germany
The 1978 Cadillac Sedan DeVille is maybe going to be Juliet Garbacz’s future car after she has enough experience with her first car. If she can find the skills and the knowledge to fix up a car like this and take care of it, this car will be hers
Can’t see the “oval hood”with the steering wheel in the way…drop the tilt a few..lol The caddy was special over the other GM Luxury cars because of that hood shape which was unlike the others, which I call it the “oval hood”because of the extreme curve of the hood.
Hello there This car for sale or not if for sale please to send any phone number or any type of connection so I can send or call some body regarding it , thanks
That steering wheel is gorgeous and has aged incredibly well
It really has aged well. Timeless.
The 2022 Genius 80 SUV actually has this exact same look!!! 🤔 Woow!!! 👍
I learned to drive in my parents 1978 Fleetwood with the same color interior. The steering wheel is the one thing I remember the most.

Whatever happened to our planet? Why today's cars are so ugly?!!
Cadillac makes crossdressers now instead of nice sedans and coupes.

Great video, beautiful Cadillac, brings back memories of my 77 Sedan DeVille I had years ago and that 425 V8 was so reliable and trouble free.
I love the (short-lived) power window switch design!
Beatifull Cadillac and Color too !
It's look like a plane ,so soft yo Drive !

This brings back good memories. My aunt and uncle had a ‘78 with the d’Elegance packaged. I loved that car! Was so sad when they traded it off.
I always loved this dash where they put all the warning lights in that recessed strip. Very elegant.
We had a 1978 Fleetwood Brougham. What a car! Thanks for the memories.
love these cars and the ultra smooth ride they have

The definition of control while driving a living room on wheels - steering with two fingertips!
I love that steering wheel
I had a ‘77 once. Probably the most comfortable and best handling car I ever drove!
Beautiful, our 1978 Olds 98 Regency had an automatic antenna, that came up when you turned on the radio... Interesting
Wow! You're lucky to have that piece of art! So smooth and quiet! Hope to own one some day.
I can feel how buttery smooth that thing drives through the screen.
I was born in 1978 Beautiful car
My goodness these were when they actually made solid badass automobiles. GM and Ford Products were awesome not to mention Chrysler too.
And back then they built crap because of imports.... when they actually built cars with character and Chrome.
Thank you for the experience
Gorgeous color.
Fantastic Car ❤
There is nothing in this world can be compared with this beauty....
Beautiful Simple Car, I love it!👌👌👌
That is a beautiful car. ❤
Cool retro style inside!

Super Nice!!! 👍
Wow that cadillac looks nicer than than my cadillac
This is actually a 1978 model. You should probably correct the title of this and your other video.
I thought so, too. The analog radio was the first thing I noticed. Then the door straps. Yep, 1978.
There’s one other way to know a 79’ from another year , the wood grain is swirled in all 79’s. Check it out.
The 1979 steering wheel is also different,. The seats are different. The power window switches are different. There are several subtle difference s between the 78 & 79

Epic is about die for that car
Is that the 350 oldsmobile rocket under the hood or a cadillac engine ?
Smooth....
Sounds deep and great. What muffler you have installed?
Sounds original to me. My mother had one 30 years ago and it sounded the same.

That's the downsized one started getting boxy and no frameless doors anymore but still cool
Frameless doors meant more wind noise. 😏

What a nice car. I've a 79 Coupe Deville. What a difference to this european sh*t, I drive normaly.
This Caddy doesn’t have that Big GIANT front end like the Caddy’s from the 60’s and early 70’s had.
