I love how Kratos was so down to rip Gna's wings but as soon as he saw Freya grabbing her sword he instantly let it go and did not interfere, it just shows how calm and definitely not blood thirsty Kratos is

i like how the game baits you into thinking kratos is gonna rip her wings off like with every valkyrie we fought but instead he just hold them to keep her down instead. really shows how much he has changed through out the game and letting freya give her a chance

He has not changed, he killed the other valkyries because it was the only way to save them.
I think he would have let them live had he have found another way to remove the corruption without killing them.
She really showed her loyalty to odin, before she fight kratos and freya, she speaks to odin like he was still alive saying "Never Gna Give you up, Never Gna let you down."

I think it's neat that Kratos does the same animation for when he defeated valkyries before, but this time, he stops just short of it and doesn't tear off their wings, just holding them down
The Valekries are not part of him, but Freya‘s. The decision between Life and Death was hers to make, just like with Baldur

Plus unlike the ones before that needed to die to be free Gna was the one that still has her sanity
This game kept cockblocking me when it came to the Valkyries let rip same wings off damn it
But what's the point of killing her? Wouldn't she get instantly reborn in Valhalla like every other warrior of Asgard?
The other valkyries were cursed and death unbound them for the curse. Gna isn't cursed.

Like she seems SO defeated, that she can't even be bothered anymore, it's perfect 👌
This fight took me 4 HOURS! The amount of times I heard “FOR ASGARD” will forever be ingrained in my brain. 😅 I literally had to just go with hitting her three times after a stun and rolling away. I barely used any runic abilities as it would just distract me for any attacks after. Also only used the axe the entire fight so I wouldn’t get too locked into combos.
The best advice I can give to someone for this fight is get used to mashing the dodge button because it will be your best friend. Take it slow watch for the changing attacks throughout the fight seeing as it seems she can pick any attack for her combo. Also her combos are hardly ever the same. I wish you the best of luck if you have yet to beat her!

This was hard, it took me 3 hours and half to beat Gna, but I remember that I tried for days to beat Sigrun in the first game.
@@wheeliesin3rd840 Gna took me 6 tries n I did change the runic from poison to bifrost much easier, the king I had a problem w the final one where he bifrost us as well, one hit n u died

After defeating Sigrun, Gna feels like an afterthought.
Gna and Sigrun are similar but overall I think Sigrun was still harder.
@@nickster1653 sigrun is significantly easier. Gna uses the same windup animation for 2 different attacks but you can only tell the difference between the them in the last .5 seconds of her dash towards you. Also she has a lot more health and does bifrost damage.
I couldn't even use the Blades on Sigrun because of how quickly she would recover and attack.

Sigrun was a lot harder, Gna move slower and can be kill quicker.
I think Gna is technically more difficult but Sigrun trained us for the fight so it was easier to adapt to.

Facts. Still am having trouble with her but I do a lot better on my tries than I did with sigrun, prolly gave she has some similar moves that I already know how to counter. Granted she does have new tricks up her sleeve that make it hard af

This is the first boss video where I watch this and it -feels- like the Kratos we remember from before everything

I found her by complete accident when trying to explore muspelheim when I only had like level 5-6 gear and it took me close to like 2 hours to finally kill her cause I couldn't be fucked to grind for better gear and comeback later

I think it's safe to say that Freya has become the Norse pantheons strongest Goddess. Pretty cool when you realize she's also with the Greek pantheons strongest god.

It's the same with Kratos. He's currently the strongest Greek God because their are no other Greek Gods.

I kept dying cause I couldn't read whether she would wing slap me or gut punch me after the bifrost beam thing. Finally figured out the way you could tell is if she dashed to the left or to the right. Good luck gamers

Yeah that was the toughest one to dodge and that pink projectile she throws from her wings also was destroying me in the beginning because one of them can only be blocked and the other one you need to roll out of the way and sometimes she’ll start with one then finished with the second to fuck you over and in the hardest difficulty, almost everything will one shot you so I probably spent five hours but it was a really fun fight so I never got upset even though half of the fights would end in me choking after taking her health down 90% which was frustrating but that R3 prompt was so welcoming and warm 😂
That move is not that bad tbh once you figure out what you have to do, the attack that I hated the most was whenever she’d do that gut punch out of nowhere and it’d take away like half of my health that shit sucked along with them bs pink projectiles she kept on spamming
Lol I just realized that today too and the fight became a breeze after that using the blace
I actually did not have any trouble with Gna and beat her first try. I REALLY struggled on the boss fight with the three berserkers at the same time. That one was brutal.
Edit: I beat her on give me balance so that’s probably why it wasn’t too difficult for me.
What difficulty you playing on? and yes the 3 berserkers one was BRUTAL.
Im doing a completionist on give me a story just to do it fast, after doing 2 normal just story on no mercy and gow, and she still one shots me
I attempted that berserker fight with the 3 at once more than I attempted Gna and the berserker king combined on No Mercy. Gmgow run is gunna be ruinous with that fight.

I can only imagine that those two were super tight - like best fucking friends. The kind of friendship you could only foster after having fought so many battles alongside one another for as long as they have
Family. These two were sisters in arms
Then out of the blue, from Gna's perspective, Freya appears to destroy a perfectly beautiful relationship, throwing away all diplomatic ties, ultimately bringing everything to ruin and leaving their people subjugated
of course, as the audience, there is no doubt Odin manipulated everyone's perception of his and Freya's relationship, but Gna doesn't know that. Gna loyally served Odin just as she did her sister Freya for as long as they were together - Probably for centuries. Why wouldn't she trust him? Why wouldn't she pity him, or empathize with him? To her, Freya fucked up
So what normally would be a straining relationship with a family member at worst, began festering into resentment and rage, at best
Betrayal. Utter betrayal
I'd be pissed too, under such circumstances
Then to add insult to injury, not only does Freya dare to show her face after such betrayal, but she comes back at the side of this savage outsider! This foreigner with a murderous reputation who not only helped slay the man she loyally served for centuries, not only murdered the rest of his family, but also murdered the last valkyrie queen that she was forced to succeed.
If i wasn't seeing red before..
It's like "Who the fuck are you, Freya? I don't even know if I knew you to begin with..."
Then after being humiliated in defeat, robbed of my vengeance, robbed of the justice I've waited so long to deliver, I"M the one whos being judged!? Me?
"You would judge me!!?" she says
the sheer audacity
look at the way she turns away after Freya tells her she knows what its like to seek revenge
She's like: "Bitch, I don't want to hear what you have to say!! How could you possibly know!? if you knew, then this strange man wouldn't be holding me down right now, HE WOULD BE DEAD BY YOUR BLADE, AND YOU WOULD DRIVE YOURSELF INTO MINE!!"
....of course Gna also doesn't know that he almost was..
The saddest part is that after Freya's desperate attempt to appeal to (her once) best friend, her family, Gna makes it clear that she'd rather be dead than to ever attempt to make amends with the likes of her.
...and Freya gets it, because that's how she felt with Kratos - she would rather have died than make want to make amends with the murderer of her son.
and then the way that music slowly plays as she complies with her request - the only thing Freya can give that Gna could ever possibly want.
Truly tragic
I kinda wish the game would let you sit with that, maybe focus on Freya even, before giving control back to Kratos

By the end, I honestly didn’t care about all of that. I just wanted Gna to be dead
I've been in that position, and I empathised with Gna a lot. It doesn't excuse the fact that she served as a tyrant, but I felt her pain. The way they wrote her character was brilliant, even though her appearances in the game were brief.
As the Vanir goddess of swiftness who served as both her messenger and handmaiden, I think she knew Freya's good and bad sides but always had her back no matter what. It's fair to say Gna also had her own hardships and sacrificed a lot herself, both mentally and physically especially during the Asir/Vanir war.
I've found that using the spear only, wrath boosts, and time distortion helps the most. Also keeping pretty hefty pressure going forward gets the blue circles so you can shield break. All these things seemed to help. But I bet I tried 50 times and lost before winning. Still took a bezerker stone to win

Hrolf and Gna were awesome endgame bosses. The triple berserkers however can rot in a hole
This fight is brutal. Even on "Give me balance."
I struggled so much with it.
The moves that murdered me the most, were the curved projectiles and the wing thrust.
Not to mention, Gna would sometimes love to throw in sneaky red ring attacks and one shot me.
So. Even if you play on normal. This fight is still an accomplishment. Be proud if you beat it.
Haven't fought a boss like Gna for a long while.

Just beat it tonight on gmgow and I can confidently say that’s the hardest boss I’ve ever faced in a video game. I don’t know if being level 6 is considered under leveled for her but holy sh*t it sure felt like it.

One of the best hints I can think of is to try to memorize the pose she takes before she does the spin attack. If instead of blocking you just dodge back and wait for her to stop spinning you've got an easy opening.
if she rushes to the left before attacking use shield if she rushes to the right dodge
I know I've commented this a couple of times but it seriously saves ALOT of trouble trying to learn it with no knowledge
I love the music when you fight the Valkyries. The sound of the choir is so beautiful.
Everyone beat this boss the same way: you were the most zen you had ever been in your life, but when the boss had half a bar left, you mashed your way to an ugly victory.
Gave us the hardest battle in the whole game and she accepts her death just like that
Just managed to beat her tonight. Took a few tries and she was very challenging and hit like a truck but I think Sigrun was harder for me. Gna was pretty easy after learning her attack patterns. Didn't even need a resurrection stone for her.
I like how rage mode did the least damage. Also could enemies always attack and damage you while getting hit by your runic ability, If so I just noticed it this game
Yeah idk why they decided to remove the invulnerability, but it does make you more strategic as to when to use runic attacks.
@@Celestiallev They didn’t remove it, Gna can summon a shield that prevents her from being staggered by runic attacks for a certain period of time
It filled up the stunt meter really quick and that's what helped the last strikes being lot more powerful
It depends. Generally the runic doesn't allow her to cause damage, but not always. Rage mode with Gna should be used when her stun bar is half full - then you can cause her a substantial damage by filling it
When bosses have a runic symbol on the left side above their health, they can't be staggered by runic attacks.

Part of me during the fight wants to say, you're no Sigrun, but I also fought Sigrun on both the hardest difficulty and new game plus hardest difficulty

Tip: turn on the dynamic boss health bar so you don’t get off your game watching her health. Helped me biiig time after dying to her with only a sliver of health left lol

This game is definitely going to be game of the year. Because so far all the games this year looks amazing but this is on another level, with the characters graphics, story line and everything...

Player you just gave a whole different meaning to those blades of chaos and how to light her ass up early with those runics .Found this valkyrie at a level 8 but her patterns were still crazy think im gonna take a page from your book 😂 .
For everyone saying sigrun makes this boss like nothing. This boss has way more health than sigrin did and still does just as much damage but the thing is..her attacks are easier to counter. The hardest part is keeping alive for long periods.
The bifrost is nasty too, and her spinning chakrams
The only thing that makes gná Hard is her Chakram attacks, and the Spinning one. The bifrost isn't a big deal when you're playing on Very hard and EVERY attack hitkill you xD

Gna almost always have a relatively long animations when her attacks start, Sigrun was FUCKING relentless, she didn't gave you time to breathe, Gna almost always does a little stop before her barrage of attacks

Odin was way easier I fought him without upgrading gear and I didn't even die once against him

Finally got her, i'd say second hardest after the berserker king. Definitely a challenge, I recommend surtr armor set to defeat her, well worth the grind at the trials.
You found her less hard than the King? That guy was a wash and rinse of all the berzerkers you just recently fought and didn't have nearly the same speed as Gna. But i respect your opinion. I beat both with no damage taken but Gna was definitely harder to me.

She indeed is the hardest, it took me hours, I played it in the hardest mode, but each mistake you make you learn to know her moves, I also turned off UI and help to concentrate more in her attacks.

@@AlexPalumboG Nice job dude, it took way too many tries and hours, my fingers were getting tired of smashing those buttons too much lol, until I learned her moves, it was a big pain, even sigrun was easier when I faced in the previous game, but this one I feel it was hard asf, but I couldn't bring my self to lower the difficulty as it was also my last trophie for the platinum, so it felt so good after beating her lol
One of the things I like about these games, is it makes you feel like your on par with the enemy. It truly feels like a God vs a God.

Everyone is complaining who harder between gna and sigrun but never consider that the way they fight may be better suited for one or the other boss and also that not everyone on is the same skill level

I put it to give grace mode and still really struggled, had 500 armour defence and still had to resort to the superior health stone. Only time I had no shame lowering the difficulty lol

The first time I tried to fight her, it was right after fighting the Berserker King and several other Berserkers. After about the tenth death, I just decided to turn in for the night and try again another time, when I was rested and fresh. Two days later, I gave it another go and beat her on the third try. When I was done, all I could think of was that meme of Harry Potter saying "how dare you stand where he stood?" Because although Gna was tough, she was nothing compared to Sigrun.

She is not too bad in general. But what i loathe most is her hitbox for certain moves. It sucks that you have to play/counter her moves a certain way instead of making the fight more dynamic. As was the case with sigrun in 2018 GOW, there are a few moves that visually do not hit you and yet you get hit.
I still remember Shirrako getting absolutely BODIED by Sigrun, barely defeating her with a sliver of health left. Compared to her, this is a cakewalk.
Is it though? Because Gna is tanky as hell and just one shots me (or depletes my health to almost zero) with almost any attack. Even one lapse of concentration ends the fight. Not just that, but she has an attack in which a shield strike is needed ("Valhalla's blood is on your hands") that one-shots me and is unavoidable if I delay the shield strike by even a fraction of a second. Maybe there's a certain level at which it starts getting easier? Currently I'm trying fighting her at Level 5.

@@Redhoodepicgamer Yeah man I'm so confused by all the comments saying it's "easy". I can understand it being easier relative to Sigrun for some people, but surely I think at least at Level 5 (where I'm at) and even Balance difficulty, it's a nightmare
@@AIBfan she's level 9, so... thats why you die in 1 hit. I cant figure out how to get those embers i need for my max rank armor parts (last 2) and dont have my maxxed axe yet (2 ranks away) and she still 2 shots me!
By far my favorite boss in GOW as a whole. All around badass and a bit of a pain to defeat. Yet was fun to battle. Finally beat her yesterday.
One interesting combat situation I found while trying to beat her for the second time, is to be mindful when Gna uses Sigil or Sonic attacks. Keep at least an arrow of the type she is preparing and you can use Freya's square attack, that causes a temporary stun upon Gna. When she says "For Asgard", if she has more than half of her health bar, dodge roll sideways. When she says "for Asgard" but you see a bifrost area on the ground, take a step out of the area and start dodge rolling when the circle has a more pronounced area.
Finally beat Gna after 7x....dodging the bifrost projectiles took me a bit.
Did the berzerker king just before her which took me several hours to beat. That damn blue circle attack got me right at the end sooooo mannnyy times!!
Now I can finally enjoy the game 😅. Hopefully a NG+ comes out soon.

I played through this game on Give Me No Mercy 99% of the time until I got to this battle. After constantly getting close to beating her just to die, I ended up lowering the difficulty to finally beat her. Kinda got tired of fighting Bosses for hours and hours until I beat them. Expecially those Berserker bosses. But damn this was the hardest and final boss fight for me.
Bro same last game I killed the musphilheim valkyrie on Give me no mercy easily but this chick took me a damn hour on gomme a story difficulty

After fighting Gna I have to say, I had a much easier time fighting this Valkyrie than I did fighting Sigrun. Maybe I just got lucky but I was able to beat Gna in about half an hour. But I did fully upgrade my weapons, health, rage and gear before hand so maybe that helped a lot. Either way, I’m just glad I don’t have to do this
Man I really made use of the weapon accessories that give you realm shift when activating their L1 plus triangle ability, combined with using Wrath rage that that refilled pretty fast and would greatly increase the permafrost per use. This meant that I had to be super aggressive to keep building up momentum in order to create windows for me to do large amounts of damage in the realm shifts, but it was immensely satisfying. It made for a hell of a fight, I'll probably upload the clip at soon.
Did you use the realm shift relic as well?(the one you get for killing Heimdall)
Found this boss yesterday while looking for the remnants of Asgard and other undiscovered places. Died at least 5 times or so against her, almost always killed me, throwing spikes at me every time I revived. Beat her within a couple of tries. Hope to kill the Berserker King now later today.
Beserker king isn't too bad. He uses all of the other beserkers stuff in random order. He's manageable, he just takes a while due to being tanky but if you know how to effectively parry, you're golden

That rage finish was nice but a few wrath in a row works well with hits in between activation. These fights make you feel badass when all goes well
I beat it just awhile ago, and I will say that its harder than the Valks from 2018 and the Berserker Kings, like damn! Took me several times, and I was already at Level 9! Took me until 3 in the morning just to buff my Kratos
All this and I was in "Give me a story" mode, I dont want to know how hard it is in higher difficulty

@@zeyadhassan1103all you have to do is travel to the crucible in muspelheim and find where she’s located off to the right of the challenges. You’ll find a new small opening in the rocks that you can crawl through.
I'll be the judge of the difficulty 💀 after killing all the Valkyries twice in the last game I know a thing or two.

With bosses like Gna, I find that, after losing 25 times:
1) Every loss after that doesn’t even make me mad. Their move set is being downloaded
2) I then finally beat them while maybe taking 2 hits in total
3) I don’t feel satisfaction in winning, only relief that I can go do something else with my day

Valor is the best Spartan Rage in every 1v1 boss fight (where the enemy has a big hitbox and can’t receive flurry punches) with no minions. It gives you an extra health bar for the whole fight if you use it right and the damage boost leads to no lack of DPS as well.
I will not lie...I changed the difficulty setting for this fight because I got tired of getting my ass kicked so many times lol

This fight is ridiculously difficult if you don't know what your doing. She has the title of "queen" and it's for a reason. Watch her carefully tho and you'll catch on...after a few dozen deaths lol
The spartan rage got so nerfed so bad, the damage non existent
It’s not that the damage is non existent, it’s that it’s just really bad on bosses. It’s pretty much an instant win card on normal enemies. Also, it lasts significantly longer.
Sadly, they did nerf the rock throw tho.

This is impressive play.
I playing on PS4. I'm watching you do Onslaught shield block combos that I'm prevented from doing even with perfect timing. I block the first one, same result and animation you get, but in no way am I ever allowed to block the immediate next attack the way you are, so I have to evade instead. I'm so flummoxed by this boss. The "For Asgard"/physical cue feels almost unstoppable compared to Valkyries in GoW, because the timing window is so short, I see her make the tiniest dip and hear "F" and then by the time she says "...or" she's on my neck. I am keeping at it, but I've got old man reflexes. It's gonna take forever for me to do this.
The other thing is... you can keep her mostly in camera. I have found this impossible, even with the settings changed to assist. I don't really mind being tortured by a difficult opponent. But that opponent shouldn't be the camera.
And here I thought that Kratos was gonna once again rip off Gna's wings.

Gna’s attacks are a lot faster than Odin’s, so you have less time to react.
