To be fair, someone else pointed out that Spartan Soldiers weren’t just constantly trained in combat. They were taught to read and write, and considering the prominence and importance of art in Greek culture and history, it would make sense that Kratos was always proud of the fact that his boy was an artist. Would likely also explain why he and Faye trained Atreus in the bow, rather than any blade other than a knife. The dexterity in the wrist and steadiness in the hand that drawing requires would likely do well for archery

I saw that Freya got soft with Kratos after he said he was tricked to kill his daughter and wife long ago... Freya said she could not imagine his pain, Kratos killed Baldur but it's not like he did it out of hate or for bloodshed, but to protect her, Freya would have died for nothing because Baldur would meet his death anyway because of his reckless behavior, but Kratos still did his best to mend things with her, maybe in time, they can find comfort in each other.
Playing after the end game after freeing all the ravens and visiting different realms. Freya would say we are going back and then Kratos says there’s still may be ravens and freya abruptly cuts Kratos off saying I’m with you. I would visit different realms for the “flowers of bloom” and every time Kratos would let freya pick them up. The final ingredient it’s just awkward silence. I take that all as Kratos visiting different realms for picking flowers for freya. I think I’m the future they will bear a child

Man if you have told me back in 2005 that the dude who let a boat captain die for no reason was going to convincingly earn Redemption and become a hero I would have thought you were high.
I'm so happy for Kratos.
Kratos went from being the character you're in your dreams where you can be the badass that can lay waste to anything coming to harm you. But now he has become even more than just badass character, he is fully developed embodiment of what it means to be a man. He is incredibly skillful in combat, but now has the wisdom and capabilities to know when NOT to fight. He is a fantastic leader, where he is solving the problems of his subordinates and his friends, either by directly solving them or giving them the tool/opportunity to solve it with his assistance. But best of all he became the most loveable father in a story I've seen in a looooooong time, the character if flawed but forgave himself for the sake of giving his son a better life. When his son needed someone to protect him, he was his shield without hesitation. When his son needed someone to give him support, Kratos was right behind him giving him guidance where he could. I loved this game series as a kid and even now I love the story as a young adult.
Well said brother. Many people/fans can't escape the hyper violent phase of this series for Kratos, even though that was time where he was seldom ever happy. While I had my fun with it as well, his time spent in Norse mythology has been a genuine joy in seeing with harrowing emotions truly find a new beginning he fought tooth and nail for. Not only with martial prowess, but genuine desire to be BETTER as he often says is a wonderful sight.

I think because Atreus "left", Kratos became so much more open to everyone Atreus was open to. This might be because he wants to express his kind side, or the developers had to make him more talkative since without Atreus, he has to speak. But the fact that the giant doggo is pettable is truly astonishingly beautiful.
This game shows you the difference between the Greece and Norse pantheon in the gow verse, you’d think Norse would be more chaotic compared to Greece due to the mythos but a lot of the gods are actually mad chill and kind while mostly every god in Greece are just straight killers and care nun but themselves
It was Kratos who was different. If he was still his younger psychotic self, the story would have been similarly gruesome and chaotic.
Nah, there was a lot of gods and goddess who would treat you well, they were corrupted by the maddness of Pandora's box and they hate and fear Kratos. If you read the books, Athena was the only one who was chill at the time since even Hades and Zeus was almost beating up each other by the time. To be honest even Athena was starting to act different.
If they was okay with Kratos around them and Pandora's box didn't affect them they could be just chilling with Kratos right now, but in the books Kratos wasn't helping at all. He treated everyone bad and kept fucking around with his wars even when Athena said to him "You already fucked up with a lot of the other gods temples and cities, please stop with this madness, they can and will backstab you if you continue with this and Zeus already stopped to hear me"
The gods of Greece were actually pretty reasonable before Kratos opened the Pandora box, after Kratos opened it, they were all corrupted by the evil previously locked inside the box (Zeus was plagued by fear, Hermes by arrogance, Hephaestus with deceit, Aphrodite with lust, and etc)
well it wasn't like that much in Greece, it was just set to 11 when Kratos opened Pandora's box.
It is because of the evils of Pandora's Box.

It’s like parents talking to their kid’s obvious crush when he isn’t around. And Mimir’s the funny uncle.
Freya was easily one of my favorites until she turned on Kratos. Her understanding him and forgiving him just made me so happy. She's been through a lot, but composed her sense of right and wrong. Just like Kratos did. They're very alike in my opinion, and they're awesome characters. Can't wait for another, I hope at least!

after all of the previous series, it's quite weird but very satisfying to see a "calm and reasonable" kratos travelling all around to say hi to his friends

There is one more interaction I believe, you find the real Tyr, and explain what has happened in his absence, he is not a sniveling coward but is immediately ready and recognises kratos but wishes to think upon how he knows him
And then he proceeds to fuck off to Vanaheim and do yoga for the rest of eternity. Based.
Seems like a big one to miss, but I guess he got past the 10 minute mark and didn't care anymore.

I wished we could've seen Atreus once more but I suppose it makes sense that we don't because it either has to be a cutscene ending with him disappearing again or he'll act as an NPC like the rest of them and being the protagonist of the game that's just not right
same. What they could have done is the 100% route. At the end he would say he has to go eventually but would like to see what happened to the realms and all the people there and actually attend Bronk's funeral. I would also make it so you can choose who your companion is while you are finishing all the favors. When you finish all of them you get the 100% ending which I would have it be Atreus finally saying his farewells and going off satisfied with the extra assurances. Plus, I would add new game + but I'm sure that's coming in the future like the 2018 one

i really want this to be the end of God of War, let the poor guy rest. It was an amazing ending and Kratos survived after everything he went through and the long journey he had to take to get here. I think hes due for a long quiet rest to just relax and die of old age. I love that hes more at peace and it shows it with him interacting with everyone. If they do want to keep the franchise going they should start it with Loki and maybe do a camio with Kratos.
I think he'll eventually stop aging.

Ever since the release of the first game I've been a fan of the series, to see kratos change into a better person and showing other sides to his character rather than rage. My dude wanted to die at the end in GoW 3, but instead later found calm in and a new family and to grow with friends.
for 17 years now kratos has come very far to find peace after destroying the entire greek gods, and now he finally find peace and accepting who he is, and forgive himself in the end, im crying and so proud of him, i remember when i was a little kid that only in my eyes kratos are grumpy and angry person, hes rage makes me thing that he will never became what he became now, im proud, so proud! its like im seeing him as my father achieving what he wanted for all of this years, congrats to cory barlog and the entire team that making this game a success and im proud of them, im proud of kratos, you deserve it kratos, it is time you finally rest and let go of your past.

Btw you can actually save the real Tyr after finishing the raven tree, he has a conv with kratos, freya and mimir. You can also see him travelling the realms once you free him.
