Rambo III was a little piece of freedom in my 16-18 years, now i'm turning 32 and i still think that way.
The tagline reads: "Last time he fought for his country. This time, he's fighting to save a friend's life."

The reason the writing seems so similar is because Sylvester Stallone wrote every one of the Rocky movies and the Rambo movies, as well as many others. He also directed the 4th Rambo, and four out of 6 Rocky movies.

The helicopters used in this film, are actually both French made. The smaller Helicopter is the "Aerospatiale Gazelle", & the larger one is the "Aerospatiale 330 Puma". The Puma in particular, was modified in the film to be a mock-up of the Russian "Mil Mi-24 Hind". Just so you both know, the Soviet-Afghan War is Russia's "Vietnam War" from 1979-1989.

Guys, can you do a reaction to Steven Seagal’s first film in 1988 called Above The Law.? Nobody has done it. The opening scene turned Seagal into an action superstar after the world witnessed him doing is Aikido.
4:56 Knowing where the series ends up and the life that follows Rambo as a result of the war in his blood, this line hits very hard.

So which is your order of preference. For me, nothing will come close to Rambo First Blood Part 2. The greatest of all time. I thought Stallone looked terrible in Rambo 3
Just wait until the last and finishing movie "Last Blood". That movie brought out almost every emotion that a person has, in me.

Some did....many others true Afghans remained with the NRFA (National Resistance Front of Afghanistan)or joined several local resistance groups against the Taliban (The Taliban were largely founded by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence beginning in 1994; the I.S.I. used the Taliban to establish a régime in Afghanistan which would be favourable to Pakistan, as they were trying to gain strategic depth). Many true Afghans who remain there are still fighting for their own freedoms & for a free Afghanistan - especially against the Taliban which is in control now since the US/Allies forces pull out.

The way you think about what is happening in the stories & How you figure out what may happen next is like YOU are writing the movie Yourselfs, AND,...You are usually correct most of the Time about 'WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT' during the story! It's wonderful to watch you think & then 'JUMP IN SURPRIZE' at something you DIDN'T EXPECT! You are so enjoyable to 'SIT WITH' as we ALL out here get to share some FUN with THE MOVIES! Afghanistan didn't "defeat the USA then" - the US armed Afghanistan with stinger missiles to use against the Soviet occupiers ('79 - '89 ). I wouldn't call the 20 - year US occupation a defeat when the US had a 20:1 kill ratio against the Taliban, but I agree with your last comment...let's stay out.

"Communism is when you don't have the right to have an opinion", what you are describing authoritarianism. You can be Capitalist Economy and have an authoritarian government, you can have Fascism and authoritarianism. You can have an Islamic Republic and have authoritarianism. You can have a Jewish nation and be authoritarian. It is aggravating to hear people comment on things and see things in such a simple way. I don't know if its a result of Low Information, you haven't read enough history, or maybe you see most of your viewers are American and you don't want to alienate them so you come to the conclusion that Russians were terrorists when they went to Afghanistan, yet Americans went to Afghanistan to 'Help Them'. No they both were wrong to invade a country to prop up their Ideologies, One Communism, the other Neo-Liberalism, and both made a huge mistake strategically of invading a Country far away from their own and with difficult mountainous terrain. Please next time if there is a movie that happens to have political overtones, don't be so childlike to simplify things as Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and whatever other country Western Europeans have deemed to be 'Bad' and Western Countries to be 'Good' so they were 'trying to help'. Just speak your mind, and if you don't read a lot then just skip the political talk cause it's like watching children try to explain the not so black and white not so good vs evil that is World Politics and Conflicts. You missed a good chance to point out the irony that when we invaded Afghanistan WE the US became the Soviets, and the people we trained, most used that training against us.
