This one is definitely more violent than the previous 3, but Stallone ensured it's made in such a way in order to raise awareness about the atrocities and extreme oppression that was going on in Burma. Rambo's quote "Live for nothing or die for something" is actually an excellent and truthful quote. This film is also dedicated to Richard Crenna, who absolutely nailed his role as Colonel Trautman.
The main bad guy playing the general was an actual survivor of that atrocity. He risked the lives of his family to play that role to get the word out about what was going on.
To be honest, the best thing about this movie for me was the trash talking merc leader. He was foul mouthed, but he also fought like a madman, pain only made him more angry and he was the real deal.
I love how Rambo’s flashbacks when he’s sleeping are just the way he dreams every night “you just don’t turn it off” he’s PTSD makes him dream that whenever he sleeps never a good nights sleep
Compared to the second and third movies, this is more realistic. The way the killings are shown is more gory, the only fantasy move, the throat ripping. The big bomb is a "daisy cutter", used in the Vietnam War and there are films where you can see the same explosion we see in the movie. Also the effect of the .50 bmg machine gun is how it is supposed to work. I also like the ending with John coming home at last. Liked this reaction, great video guys!
Actually the bomb was a British WWII "Tall Boy". The BLU-82 didn't have guidance fins as it was parachute dropped. That being said they were both massive the TB was 12,000 lbs while the cutter was 15,000lbs.
I love ❤ how you both mentioned goosebumps during the early flashbacks. I know how you feel, hearing col Trautman and the original first blood theme is emotional 😢
Stallone was 60 when he did this movie. Long before old Tom Cruise. Back then it was kind of amazing. Then he made the expendables and the whole geriatric took control of action movies again. The real men.
Thank you guys that was great reaction, the next Rambo is good also. For the next movies try to watch Expendables with Sylvester Stallone and lots of big movie actors together ,awesome!
Mario and Joy have some of the best movie reactions and after movie discussions, ❤. You too have me in tears laughing at the two of you recapping the movies. By the way the lady's name was Sarah, 😆. Great review guys.
Thank you guys for continuing the series of movies...unlike many other reactors that don't do it. So for that I really appreciate you both and it makes the channel so much better!
"reactors"? To react is not something you can "be", everyone reacts to new information presented to them, that's universal, from bees to crocodiles to humans to worm..
These last two Rambo movies are super gorey. I remember my parents showing me this movie when I was 10 and I was literally about to cry during some of the more horrible parts.
This is an accurate depiction of Burma. For a brief time they were given their freedom and able to exist as a free nation called Myanmar. Then there was a coup d’état where the Burmese army took back over and the world turned a blind eye. That’s where we are now. A literal repeat of this.
Best about Rambo everyone of them represent what is going on in that time! Everyone of these are based on a war, or like you just watched down right murder, wait till next one, which also represents what's going on now
In real life, the Karen rebels were inspired by this film, and even used the saying “live for nothing, or die for something” as a rallying cry. Stallone said it’s one of his proudest moments ever while working in film.
Not to maybe spoil but yes she is right💯💯, this how it should've ended the series. You could say he accepted and came to terms to Trautman's words as being full combat soldier and stuff, while yet then getting to finally coming home and a chance to come to terms with that and any peace of it.
Watch Last Blood, however watch the extended version the opening is super awesome and helps you understand who Rambo is now... the regular version skips that whole opening
Yup. The last one was just lame. There is a fanfiction story where the ending could have been better. Like Rambo calling for School Boy and the Brit for help. They ended it in Mexico. As it should have been
Great movie and great reaction guys and if you liked this one maybe you might like Tears of the Sun with Bruce Willis. Hope to see a reaction to that one soon also coming up with veterans day on the horizon maybe an older movie with a young Tommy Lee Jones, The Park is Mine. 👏👏👏💯💯💯
I’ve read stories of Vietnam veterans going back to Vietnam either to make peace, see what’s changed or in some cases live there. Same with Cambodia, Laos and even Thailand. Although you could pay me millions and I wouldn’t even visit Burma for a day but for Thailand or Vietnam I’d go for free.
Yeah the Burmese genocide had been going on for many decades. At the time the movie came out it had been nearly 50 years. Some of it is just typical warlord brutality. But part of it is tribal. The tribe the missionaries were helping ate called the Karen tribe. They used to be total isolationists and didnt get along with other tribes going back centuries. They first encountered western Christian missionaries in the late 1800s and as a tribe had an almost total cultural conversion because they had their own religious prophecies about God and foreigners and a book, i read about this in school. They became extremely pre-Christian but on their own terms. But after their own civil war, decades ago, the Karen didn't go along with it and ended up getting themselves singled out for persecution on a profound level. Its a miracle they've survived for so long with so few people and resources. There really were missionaries who kept trying to give them aid and support during the genocide, similar to how some risked everything to get i to iran post revolution, or the USSR in the 50s and 60s, or china after the cultural revolution. I used to know some guys who got into North Korea via business relationships to build bread factories.
Could have been a better movie. He didn't call on his Buddy School boy or the British guy for help. Read the fanficiton on what would have happened if he did.
Because of the missionaries in the movie, it reminded me of the true story of Richard Wurmbrand from Romania and his wife, Sabina, about what happened to them during and after WWII. Missionaries that went through seemingly hopeless situation with years of torture, but God had a purpose for them. Tortured for Christ (2018) ua-cam.com/video/kXxMTf8iBj4h/v-deo.htmlttps://ua-cam.com/video/kXxMTf8iBj4/v-deo.html There is also a documentary that gives more info about them.
AWESOME REACTION! Great movie! "Michael " in the movie - didn't realize that God's Commandment states "Thou shall not MURDER (which is done with criminal intent)" That's different from "kill". AFTER God gave this Commandment- he ordered Joshua in the Bible - to lead his Israeli army to kill the Canaanites including women, children, and livestock on their way to the Promised Land. This supports the need for military protection/defense. Note - If God hadn't ordered the Canaanite destruction they'd have destroyed each other and it would've started a worldwide culture of Satanic killing trend throughout the world - and God could not allow that. Watch "Rambo Last Blood" 2019 AND Stallone's "Nighthawks" 1981 - the most underrated cop movie of all time!
the only issue I have with this movie is the people get kidnapped for 15+ days and they only decide to rape the hot blonde American woman when Rambo arrived to save her? Sure
Hey i luv your channel!! and your Misery reaction-Please watch Carrie-1976 and The Blair Witch Project for Spookey Season. Both are disturbing. Hello from North Carolina!
This is the second best Rambo film after the original. That ending is brutal.
Agreed!
I agree my ranking is
First blood (1982)
Rambo (2008)
Rambo lll (1988)
Rambo first blood part ll (1985)
Rambo last blood (2019)
was very brutal!
Agree, the first Rambo had the best acting performance this one I feel had the better story with current events

yes he have courage to play the role i cant never do that
What a brave man!
for real??? that's very amazing!! honors to him
When that first arrow hit and Rambo ran in the shot everyone in the theater cheered like crazy
i can hear what you just said! lol
I saw this in the theater, with my same buddy I saw First Blood with in the theater with. We were were around 13 or 14 when we saw First Blood.
To be honest, the best thing about this movie for me was the trash talking merc leader. He was foul mouthed, but he also fought like a madman, pain only made him more angry and he was the real deal.
100% Rambo is an old soldier who tried his best to live a peaceful life
but won't back-off from a fight if he's cornered
Honest people never have to specify when being honest.
I love how Rambo’s flashbacks when he’s sleeping are just the way he dreams every night “you just don’t turn it off” he’s PTSD makes him dream that whenever he sleeps never a good nights sleep

Interesting, this is a different cut than the theatrical
Now, Rambo Last Blood
5 Minute after the First Movie was this the Best Speach of Rambo and his best Movie

This should have been the last Rambo
Yup. The last one was just lame. There is a fanfiction story where the ending could have been better. Like Rambo calling for School Boy and the Brit for help. They ended it in Mexico. As it should have been
This is edited differently, normally the scene at 3:14 opens the movie and then the credit sequence happens. That’s weird
