I’d love to sit with my Mom….she and my Dad died of Covid three weeks apart in April of 2020. I miss them so very much. My Mom taught me to knit socks which is my crazy obsession…..I thank her every time I finish a pair. Thank you, Ruth…you are such a dear, kind person!
I would love to sit and knit with my Mum again,I did as a child but she died many years ago , I never got to know her when I was an adult, she taught me my love of knitting which has help me whether the storms of life
I would love to knit with my mom. She tried so many times to teach me to knit and crochet and I was never interested. It was years after she passed away that I started knitting and crocheting. I hope she would be proud. Miss her a lot.
I would love to sit and knit with fishermen's wives ,who used to create special patterns with different meanings that were special to their loved ones on their garments and all the stories they could tell.xx
I am a quiet person and enjoy knitting quietly. I would love to knit with my nana, who was born in 1903. She used to make lovely things when she came to live with my family when she widowed. Jinny 🕊
Oh to sit and knit with my MomMom, that would be lovely. She gave me the gift of knit and crochet at the age of 9; what a blessing has kept me going for 60 years. Funny to see your children dressed the same at the beach, can you hear them had you suggested it.😮
I would love to knit with my grandma who passed away when I was 17. Now I am 61 and still miss her warmth and patiance. I hope that in the near future I will have the chance to visit your beautiful ireland. Greetings from germany, Gaby ❤
Your podcasts are never too long!!! Really enjoy them. What a good Christian you are - no we should never be afraid to tell people that we're Christians. Something we can feel very proud of 😁
And by the way, we don’t need professional podcasts, we need podcasters that put their personalities and souls into their podcasts, that is what makes them really interesting ❤
I would love to sit and knit with my mum who I lost 2 years ago. I have 2 of her WIPs to finish which I will do at some point, she was a beautiful knitter
Would love with my lovely Mum. Sadly no longer will us but was my best friend. We got up to lots of wonderful adventures and have great memories. She taught me to knit and every stitch, even now, is a wonderful connection to her. Thanks for your lovely podcasts.
I would love to knit with anyone. I live on a small island, none of my friends knit and we have no knitting group. So podcasters usually keep me company while knitting.
I would love to sit and knit with my Mom. She's been gone 30 years but I still miss our time together. She would be so happy to see that knitting has become a passion of mine.
This was a fun episode! You mentioned Gilmore Girls. The town in the show , Stars Hollow, is based on Washington, Connecticut. There is a yarn shop called Stars Hollow Yarns. It is quite possibly the most perfect yarn store I have ever been in. From the yarn selection to the building itself, it's beautiful.
I live on the southern coast of CT, but didn't know that Gilmore Girls was based on Washington, CT. My daughter and I will definitely make our way up there--and the yarn shop you recommend will be the icing on the cake. Thank you!
@@lesliewaddell3565 I'm in Bridgeport. I have been to every yarn store in the state. I can tell you that Stars Hollow is by far the best store in Connecticut.
I would love to sit and knit with my mom who passed many years ago . She was only 57 so I would so be blessed if I had that chance. It would be fun filled with lots of fun times talking about my grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Love love your podcast Ruth. So much fun and very light. Love your shawls and your favourite color.
I would love to sit and knit with all my favourite knitting podcast hosts, especially you Ruth! Knitting podcasts have brought joy, inspiration, encouragement and good company to me in the past few years.
I would love to sit with my elderly lady who was our neighbour who took me under her wing and we used to knit together. I love the length of your podcast. It helped me process lots of garden produce 👍
I would love to knit with one of the mother's of my heart, Frances Hill, lovingly called Mama Hill. Little did i realize how sneaky and patient Mama Hill was until I realized that I finally had patience. She was one of the great of this world's treasures and I miss that old woman 40 years later every single day.
Just love your Christian message at the end, makes my day. You are allowed 8 shawls, they all have a purpose. I was just glued to the screen in the wool shops, it was just amazing and you did such a wonderful job showing us. Thankyou for a great podcast and we all want you back in 2024 ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Ruth for another lovely podcast! I would love to knit with you, Ruth. Your upbeat personality, heart of gold and sense of humor shines through all of your podcasts, such a joy to watch!
I don't know anyone in my life who has ever knit; however I really enjoy knitting in the evening when everyone is out of the house and it is quiet and peaceful.
Hi Ruth. I voted the long videos because I thoroughly enjoy knitting with the wonderful UA-cam bloggers I subscribe to, like yourself. But on occasion I’m so lucky enough to get to spend time with my lovely daughter, who works in a yarn shop, and lives and breaths knitting, herself. An hour with my favourite UA-cam bloggers is the best way to spend my evenings knitting, but a day spent with my daughter, knitting and chatting is sheer bliss! Cheers, Jen xx
i would love to sit and knit with my Mom. She died 13 years ago before I started knitting very much. She taught me to knit, knit some sweaters for me and for all her grandchildren. Fortunately I still have the sweaters she knit for although some do not fit me now. Thank you Ruth for your lovely never too long podcasts.
I would like to knit with my grandmother. She crocheted, but I taught myself to knit. She died when I was ten, but I think we’d have a great time together working on our crafts. Love your podcast, as always. I’m glad to know someone else can have challenging moments knitting. Grateful for your devotions at the end. They have been a real comfort to me lately.
Oh how gorgeous, Falkland island wooollll soooooo soft so lovely to knit with too. And it looks beautiful, you just having a wee blip , you a very clever knitter ,this fog will lift and your moojooo will return ,keep knitting and podcasting please you a huge shining star 🌟 ❤❤
I would love to sit and knit with my mum. I didn't really come to knitting (she taught me when I was young) until after she died 18 years ago. I like to think she'd be so happy that I followed her love of knitting eventually.
I would have loved to have been able to know my paternal grandmother better. I imagine sitting with her and learning to knit. My dad remembers seeing her fall asleep in the rocking chair while knitting socks and mittens for nine kids.
Another lovely episode, as always. I always feel like a good friend is just chatting away telling me what she made that week. As to whom I would love to sit and knit with, I really wish I could knit with my mother again. She taught me how to knit when I was 7, and up until the age of 13 or so we would sit under a tree during the summers and knit away together. And then I became too cool to hang out with her and we never really knit together again. I grew up, got married, had 4 gorgeous daughters, and realized I never was cool in the first place and these days get my kicks from sitting and knitting (and a bit of whisky on the weekends). My mom passed away 14 years ago and now I wish I had gotten over myself a lot quicker and knit with her more.
I’d love to sit and knit with my grandmother who taught me to knit when I was 7. She passed away 35 years ago and it would be so wonderful to share this craft with her again.
Dear Ruth, you're an absolute joy. Both my Grandmothers were beautiful crafty women. Often when I'm sitting knitting I think of them and hope they would be proud. To sit and knit with them both would be a joy xx
So sorry for your trials and tribulations. But just to let you know that after hearing what you were going through it has given me the confidence to continue with my knitting. Mistakes and all. God bless you. ❤😊🤗
I would love to sit and knit with ALL the podcasters that I watch. Not only would I see some beautiful projects but the conversation and laughter would be amazing!!! 💕🧶
I would love to sit and knit with my Mom, who is gone to glory many years ago. She taught me to knit and she would so enjoy all the yarn choices now available. The knitting would be great, but the talking would be the best! 💕
Love your podcasts. I only learned to knit after I was 76 years old. But when we were still all at home with Mom and Dad, we used to always sit with Mom and do hand work. There was five of us sisters. I often think back of those days. I love that shawl you showed us.
Thanks for another great podcast. I’d love to knit with my great aunt. She is the one who taught me how to knit and crochet over 45 years ago. I would go to visit her and sit and we would do crafty things together. I wish she was still with us today so I could show her everything I have made over the years because of her ❤.
I would love to sit and knit with my Mum. She taught me to knit as a child but I didn’t really get into it fully until after she died. I think she would have loved podcasts and the modern knitting community ❤. Thanks again for the lovely podcast, Ruth. I too am a yellow gal 💛
I would love to sit and knit with my best friend of 60 years, in rocking chairs, on a deck watching the churning sea waves roll in, sipping on our favorite fru fru coffee drink. What a joyful memory. Thanks so much for this prompt
I would love to sit and knit with my mom. She passed away in 2020 and she loved to knit socks for my dad. I still have some pairs she knit for me. Absolutely adore your podcast and share your love for shawls!
I just like watch a podcast while I knit, or watch tv in the evenings. I love your podcast Ruth and just knit what you want to knit as long as it brings you pleasure!
I love your ballyclaire shawl and I would love to knit with my sister! We don’t get to see each other often but when we do, we sit and knit, drink coffee, talk and laugh and encourage each other in the Lord! It’s a wonderful time!
If I could, I wish I could sit and knit with my Mom and Grandma. Both have sadly been gone for many years now, but their memories are never far from my needles. When I took up knitting again a few years ago (after not knitting for 35+ years) I'm sure they both fall off their cloud well having a good laugh watching me tie my fingers in knots the few cast ons. Have a wonderful day Ruth
I would love to sit and knit with my dad. He spent a lot of years as a child in a sanatorium for his health and was taught how to knit and sew, but he loved making his own socks on four needles….he passed away in ’91, but yes would love it if I could sit with him and knit now….x x x 🥰
I would love to have time again to knit with my mum. When I was young she didn’t have much spare time. Then while I was working I had limited time. So we never really just sat back and knit and chat together. I’d love to experience that with her. And my other fav is to knit with all my podcaster “friends”. Seriously I receive so much pleasure watching all you podcasters who so generously give of yourselves and time xox
I would love to knit with my Grandma. She was a homemaker, Baker, knitter and everything else besides, but she was born in 1898 and this was expected of her. She brought up her eight younger siblings as her mother died shortly after the last was born. It was a hard life, no mod cons of course. She dreamt of being a nurse but wasn’t allowed as she was needed at home. She’s been dead nearly 40 years now, but I still remember wearing her knitted cardigans and jumpers to school.
I would love to sit and knit with my granny as well. She passed away when I was 5. She taught me how to crochet and knit. I am now 56 and still knitting and crocheting. Love your podcast❤
Ruth you made me laugh and cry in this episode! I would love to knit with my mum and auntie. My mum has been gone nearly 25 years and my auntie for 2 years. I miss them both so much 😢
I would love to sit and knit with my paternal grandma - she passed long before I was born, but stories about her reveal a quirky personality, which I think would be delightful.
I would love to sit and knit with my mum. Unfortunately she had to stop knitting more than 25 years ago as it was causing her too much pain. I would love to share time with her knitting and talk about our projects. At least she always asks me what I am working on and she start writing a list of the things she would like to have. ❤
I’d love to sit and knit with my grandma. She taught me to knit and sew when i was about 5 and we would spend hours and hours crafting together. She would be so excited about all the beautiful patterns that are available today ❤ I loved seeing all your shawls. Each one is more gorgeous than the previous. Enjoy making them all and feeling your confidence return! 😊
I would love to knit with my Grandma who taught me to knit, my Mum and my sister. None of them would believe the internet and You Tube...and all those lovely patterns and yarns we now have available to us.xx
I would sooo love to knit again with my Mom. She passed in 2016 after 10 yrs in nursing home. She and I would knit together when I was little girl. I keep hearing in my head how proud she is of my knitting. I think she must be knitting with me, but from heaven. Ruth, I’m so happy to have found your podcast today! You have a way of touching people’s hearts, like a great friend to knit with. 🧶💕Currently knitting The Austin Socks 🧦
I would love to sit and knit with my nan. She taught me to knit when I was 5 and I've been addicted for the past 48 years!! She died when I was 12 and would be so proud to see how much I knit now!!
I would love to sit and knit again with my Mom. She taught me to knit and would patiently fix my mistakes. In the the latter years of her life, her vision became bad and it was I, who was helping her with her mistakes.
I was the first one to knit on my family. A friend taught me. I would love to sit and knit while my grandfather was sitting next to me, telling me the stories he used to tell me.
I would love to sit and knit around my Grandmother’s kitchen table with her and my Mom and Aunt, her daughters. Oh, the conversations we would have! I miss them all very much. And thank you, Ruth, for another fun podcast! You are a joy!
Hi Ruth. Thank you for sharing so openly with us and I love your honesty. I would love to sit and knit with my grandmother again. She taught me to knit way back in the 1950s. Knitting has given me life long pleasure and a link with her although she passed many years ago.
As a teenager I had my dream Saturday job working in our local wool shop. I often worked with 2 ladies called Edna & Glenys. They were both so kind to me; Glenys would often pop out to the butcher next door to buy us pork pies to have with our cup of tea! Forty years on Id love to have a cup of tea & sit & knit with them both.
I would love to sit with my grandmother and mother, but not to knit, but to crochet. (I taught myself to knit.) I never got to see my grandmother crochet because the year I was born she had a large stroke and never was able to crochet again, but I was lucky to get all of her very intricate lace doilies and such. With my mother, I remember her always sitting in "her chair" after dinner crocheting away. She made all types of things from clothing to house hold items, and jewelery. Unfortunately, I lost her 35 years ago and what I wouldn't give to sit with her again.
I would love to sit and knit with my mom. I was not a knitter when she was alive but ended up with her needles, patterns and some yarn when she passed nine years ago. Her basket sat in the back of my closet for a couple of years before I ever touched it, happy to say once I started knitting I couldn’t stop. Would love to sit and knit with her now.
I thoroughly enjoyed this time together, thank you. Never apologize for you knitting. I also really enjoy your bit at the end, it always lights up my day
Lovely to see you again . I am so surprised we didn’t just end up as two puddles on the pavement 😂. You forgot to mention that the wheel fell off the pushchair at least fine times 😂😂. It was so good to meet you at last and thank you for being so kind about me being so late bless you xxx
I would love to sit and knit with my granny! She passed away when I was pregnant with my first baby. She taught me to crochet, which led to me knitting. Also I would love to sit and knit with you! Your podcast brings me so much joy ❤️ I just ordered yarn for the ballycare shawl but hadn't bought the pattern yet. Perfect timing!
I would live to sit and knit with my mother. She taught me to knit 60 years ago, and she has been gone for 20 years. I'd love to just have one more evening sitting with her and knitting together.
No one in family was a crafter, aside of my grandmother who crocheted. I'd love to knit with Eleanor Roosevelt or Michelle Obama. They both seem like they'd be fun to spend some time with. And thank you for showing so many shawls! I love making shawls because I know they'll always fit!
I would love to sit and knit with my Granma. She tried to teach me when I was little, but I couldn’t wrap my head around it. I finally worked it out 5 years ago after having my youngest. I’d love to show her how I’m doing now, but she passed over 10 years ago.
I would love to sit and knit with Hazel Tindal. She makes amazing fair isle garments and I also love to hear her speak with her lovely Scottish accent! She has also won awards for the fastest knitter, so I would love to see that in person!
Dear Ruth! Don't be so hard on yourself! You know this season of life will pass and I promise you, life on the other side of menopause is so much better! Just think how good menopause is for your prayer life! And the prayer life of those around you 🙂🙃😉
The person I would most like to sit and knit with is my grandmother. She taught me to knit and crochet when I was younger. She always worked very hard all through her life but she was one of the happiest people I've ever known. Friends and family were the most important to her and she's always been my hero.
I would also like to sit and knit with my granny who taught me to knit she passed away when I was 16 and I'd love to show her all the things I've knitted in the last 40 years.
I think it would be AMAZING to bring together as many knitters and crocheters as possible from both sides of the pond and do a huge retreat where we not only enjoy our crafting, but we share our love for the Lord! Maybe have a prayer shawl exchange and share our favorite verses and testimonies as well! I can imagine this, can't you?! 🧶🙏🎉✝️💖
I would love to knit with my grandma. I never had the chance to bc she passed but I remember her knitting away on a green blanket that I wish was still around. When I get to heaven I will love to sit and knit with her.
I would like to sit and knit with my father. He was an excellent knitter and taught me how to knit when I was a child. He would be so amazed at all the wonders of the knitting world now that just wasn’t around when he was alive. We would have lots to talk about! ,
I would live to knot with a group of people who would like to share, to chat, and to support one another. I have been looking for or a knit group, but havent been able to find one yet. I would also love to sit and knit with you, Ruth. You are my favorite podcaster because you always make me laugh and smile. Thank you gor sharing yourself with us! 😊
Thanks Ruth. I always enjoy your chatter about knitting while working on my projects. I was on the fourth start of my project so your conversation really hit home for me today. I would enjoy sharing a knit with my grandmother as I was too young to appreciate her while she taught me to knit.
From one gray haired lady to another I love to watch your podcasts. Your shawls are lovely and if they are not your colours you can always use them as prayer shawls.
I’m like you Ruth, I would love to sit down and knit with my Nanny. She taught me to knit when I was a child but now I have picked it back up in later life and become more interested in all things yarn I would love to sit and share our projects with each other. Thank you for your podcasts they are always entertaining and interesting. You keep me company whilst I craft and always make me smile. Yes it was Bullseye…..here’s what you could have won and it was always a speedboat or caravan !!

Thanks for your kind words x
I would love to sit and knit with my nan. She taught me to knit when I was 5 and I've been addicted for the past 48 years!! She died when I was 12 and would be so proud to see how much I knit now!!
I would love to sit and knit again with my Mom. She taught me to knit and would patiently fix my mistakes. In the the latter years of her life, her vision became bad and it was I, who was helping her with her mistakes.
I was the first one to knit on my family. A friend taught me. I would love to sit and knit while my grandfather was sitting next to me, telling me the stories he used to tell me.
I would love to sit and knit with you Ruth! We would laugh and laugh and laugh.......🤣🤣🤣
I would love to sit with my grandmother and knit. She made beautiful hand knits. But anyone who can sit and chat is wonderful.
Thank you for sharing the Gospel and your heart! ❤️✝️🙏
The wheel issues can stsy between us 🤪😄
I would love to sit and knit with my granny! She passed away when I was pregnant with my first baby. She taught me to crochet, which led to me knitting.
Also I would love to sit and knit with you! Your podcast brings me so much joy ❤️
I just ordered yarn for the ballycare shawl but hadn't bought the pattern yet.
I would love to sit and knit with you Ruth. Make no apologies for the wips they are the sign of a creative person.
And the prayer life of those around you 🙂🙃😉
Never thought of it that way 🤪
Time goes so fast when we’re together, your podcast could never be too long.
How fantastic would that be 😍😍
Dear Ruth-I would love to sit and knit with YOU. I can’t think of anyone more delightful and uplifting than you!
Wow, thank you!
I would love to sit and knit with my Grandmother and Sister, they shared crafty talents with me in the fiber arts. ❤❤❤❤ wonderful memories
Ruth, your podcasts are always a blessing and so encouraging! The time just flies listening to you. ❤
