Hi Ruth - I enjoy your podcast very much. It amazes me how much you can accomplish in between being a full time mother and wife. You should be wearing a yellow cape showing your super strengths 💛
Hi Ruth. I enjoy your podcast and if you ramble on, I surely don’t notice because you have such a kind spirit. I’m sitting at work, watching while I work in a very quiet office building. I almost laughed out loud when you showed your shawl and said that you may have made more…
God Bless You, Ruth...you just make my day every time I watch your podcast xo❤💛💚💙💜ox And when I think I've got no business casting on another project, you pop into my head and remind me "it's my knitting and I'll cast on if I want to"!! 😉😂 Sending lots of big squishy hugs 🫂
I love watching your podcast because the Lord led me to you. I stay to see what you've been up to knit-wise and to witness your faith and hear your words. They comfort me.
Thank you for taking the time to share your love of knitting! I don’t have any “knitting friends” or local yarn store, so your podcast helps to fill that gap for me. I also call Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Your willingness to share the gospel with such a sweet spirit, brings glory to God!
Thank you for your great personality ,brighten up my day ! Love see all your projects ,and you have nothing to say sorry abt all time! Loving you Are you! And i am not a believer , but still, I watch your episodes all the way out 🌹😍 sure wish your episodes was longer cuz i love listening and you bring the sunshine with you!🌹😍
I love your mindfulness shawls, it seems like the perfect pattern for a beautiful skein of yarn. You are awesome for knitting your Mom a cardigan, she will love it. Thank you so much for sharing your knits and what's on your heart. I hope you have an amazing week and take care!
Dear Ruth, I was brought up in a very strict religion but never shown any love, this meant at 17 my life went badly wrong. At the age of 30 I found Jesus, my sins were forgiven and forgotten by God and a huge weight was lifted from back. I do not go to church and I have not kept growing in my faith because of failings in my own personality. I feel all the time that I have let my saviour down but do not feel strong enough to be that evangelical or even just church going Christian. I do not cope well with other people judging me or laughing at me so I have withdrawn from that situation in all walks of my life. I feel like I am like the parable of the seed that grows quickly and then gets killed by the weeds. I really admire your shining light, I know it’s not an easy thing to do. I love all your knitting as always xxx
LisaR: uh oh ! Ruth , Your obsession with this lovely simple project is contagious in the best possible way ♥️ They're perfect to add fresh pop to simple top - so clever !!
Such a joy catching up with you Ruth! The cardigan for your mother is beautiful and what luck finding the perfect yarn for it. The cardigan you're making for yourself is gorgeous as well. Congratulations on reaching over 3000 subscribers 🥰
Lovely podcast as always, Ruth! I love what you said about faith versus religion. So true! And I love all your mindfulness shawls. Oh, and both the cardigan you're making for your mom and the one your making for yourself - love those!!! Cardigans are my favorite in this hot and cold season of my life... 😜
🎶"Grace, Grace, God's grace. Grace that will pardon and cleanse within." 🎶 This song came to my mind as you shared at the end. What you shared was lovely. Thank you for that! I loved seeing all your shawls and the cardigans in progress. You don't need to apologize for things as you podcast. We love all the talk! Congrats on over 3K subscribers!! 🥳 Next podcast just breathe, relax, and enjoy talking about your knitting!! 🥰😘❤️
Hi! I heard both Selma and Meagha give you a shout-out today, and yes, you are just the best of us! Thank you, now I have 27 new shows to watch! Happy birthday and and may God bless you in all things.!
Oh Ruth 🤣 the way you podcast is just perfect! I love your rambles and your sweet spirit. I know when a new episode pops up, I will be smiling soon 🙂 as always I especially love when you talk about your faith. It's always such an encouragement!
I truly love your podcast. You make me smile and laugh along. Your knits are beautiful. I am not a Christian but I always stay to the very end as I love to listen to your faith and the beautiful stores you share. Thank you for opening your heart to us all.
It's so good to hear you speak about grace and faith in the real and living saviour. I know you and I are on the same page in this. I'd love to sit and chat with you as we have Christ in common as well as our relationship with Jesus. Thanks for speaking out your encouraging words. I also dislike being called religious, because a relationship is so much better than religion!
I am so grateful that your podcast arrived in my suggestions today! You have such a warm, genuine way of sharing your knitting and your faith. I will definitely be watching each episode (and maybe some previous episodes as well) for the inspiration. Thank you for sharing what is on your heart, and God bless you!
Thank you Ruth for sharing the gospel so clearly and proficiently. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour in 1976 after hearing a message based on Revelation 3:20. Love your podcast and being inspired by your knits and absolutely love how you unashamedly share your relationship with our loving Savour and Friend. Thank you x
Thank you for the shoutout, Ruth. I’ve started the day with watching your new episode and it put me in the best mood. I love your mindfulness shawls, especially the colour of the one you were wearing! Have a great start into the day 😊
Congratulations to the winners but also Congratulations to you for all the subscribers. I always have waiting room knitting or crocheting for my many doctor appointments. I find people watch for 2 reasons. First it reminds them of some they saw and they tend to share stories of loved ones. The other reason is they just can't figure out what you are doing not on your phone. I love the shawls. Keep casting on.
Lovely to see your Tidal Wrap progress Ruth, that's exactly as it should look while you knit it, then the blocking will open out the lace as you saw in your swatch sample. Hopefully you'll enjoy it more as you become more accustomed to the straight needles for this project. Looking forward to seeing it finished 😀
Thanks Ruth. I had number 4 jab (yes I’m 75😳) yesterday and feeling a little bit rough so you really cheered me up. I’m knitting little stash busters cos I’ve too many odd balls of wool (and baby things for my daughter in NZ). Thanks for the lovely message at the end. Xx
Hello Ruth, I enjoy your channel and I always stay to the end because your words of faith and believing in the father almighty brings me comfort. Thank you and may you be bless by the Holy Father in his name Amen.
my first time watching your podcast Ruth , love your mindfulness shawls .Love your words at the end ,you strengthen my faith and belief in our lord ,thank you x
I love your "crazy" podcast ! Please don't change. I made noncho for my Mom for mothers day. She is 89 and I thought it would be perfect for chilly evenings.
So, this morning as I was knitting, your beautiful face popped in my head & I could hear you speaking right in my ear👂. You are on right this minute & I am knitting a triangle neck shawlette(?) _ it's Garter stitch! I feel you girl & will donate these to my knitting group. I love your podcast, your finished garments & anything you throw in, random or not.
A song that spoke to me many years ago, speaks perfectly to your thoughts, "I'm Not Religious I Just Love the Lord" by Scott Wesley Brown. Thanks so much for sharing.
I always stay to the end. Thank you for sharing your beautiful projects and your faith. What a lift and what a needed message in our day today. Holding tight to my faith and my needles. 🙂 Happy knitting!
Ruth you are a real breath of fresh air, I listen to your ending profession of faith and it is a real message from your heart. This is such a wonderful gift to give with the love you send out to those who have a mind and will to listen…I have faith, growing everyday, it is your gift given so freely that has really touch me. God Bless You and your message. I love to knit and find I comforting especially in times when I need to let go of the days worries and difficulties. I have been in need of some mindless knitting so that when I go to our knitting group i can knit and join in the conversations….Sincerely Judy Galligan Traverse City Michigan USA
It's always a joy to spend time with you, Ruth. All your projects are beautiful. I am a big fan of the color blue. The cardigan you are making for your mom will be so pretty. LOVE the yarn you chose. ❤
I love all of your shawls 🤩 they are so beautiful. I made an Around-in-a-round-shawl for my Mum for her birthday in the beginning of May but then know Covid hit me and i wasn‘t able to give it to her and i still have to weave in some ends 🫣 thank you for your inspiring podcast 🧡
Thank you for another enjoyable podcast! Your knits are beautiful - as always! I love that you touched on the difference between religious and being a Christian. That really touched my heart!
What a lovely podcast as usual!! I’m on my second mindfulness shawl and loving it!! I love your message at the end and always feel comforted by it ! Thank you, we look forward to every podcast, and all the projects are gorgeous, also my John Arbon kit for the fairy ring cardigan is arriving tomorrow!! So excited!! Best Nancy
What a great way to start my day with some knitting and with a lovely new episode from you🥰 All your wonderful knits and all the beautiful colors are such an inspiration! And thank you so much for sharing from your heart and sharing your faith! So thankful to God for His grace❤️ Have a blessed week, Ruth☕️🧶Love from Anne🇧🇻
Thank you for another wonderful podcast. Your enthusiasm is fabulous and I love all your projects. Your lace knitting particularly resonated with me….I have started an heirloom christening shawl out of lace weight yarn. I am knitting on long straight needles so I know exactly what you mean. There have been lots of new stitches and I am especially challenged by the “9/3” stitch🙈! I have to swap to a circular needle at some point (the shawl is square) and towards the end I will have 1,000 stitches on my needles. I have procrastinated for a year but have finally started. I have never knitted lace before and it looks like a dishcloth so far😬. I am told it’ll be good when blocked🤷🏼♀️. My daughter asked me to knit something for her future child (she isn’t planning on that for a couple of years) because I have had cancer for several years and have had 4 years of relapses so she says I should knit it while I can!! We are nothing if not up front in our family!!
I heard of your podcast from podcaster, Selma Knits. I really enjoyed you and all your lovely projects. I’m a fan already! Looking forward to next time. Thanks, Terry from Knutsford, near Kamloops, BC, Canada 🇨🇦
What a wonderful shawl event and I am going to make one of the one shawl you had around your neck. I will have watch again to get the name. The top down you are knitting is gorgeous. Lace weight yarn is not a yarn I will ever use. Love your sharing .......will email you soon
How many fun versions of mindfulness shawl! Always considering my words for wittiness- especially when someone has negative thoughts about religion. I agree that the important thing is to know Christ!
ZJuust found you Ruth love what l hear you say about faith. You have arrived just as l need to hear you. Look forward to following you in the future God Bless you
Hi Ruth I'll listen any time you get time to do a podcast love the rambling any which way it comes, I loved all of the yellow yarn in the last podcast, beautiful, and always look forward to your talk at the end of the podcast, hugs Sarah 🥰
Thanks so much ,,Ruth!,!! So enjoy UR podcasts !!! I have 3 be simple shawls on the go,,,,They are similar to the ones you are doing,,,, I love simple shawls,,,,,and let the lovely yarns shine,,,,, So I get the addiction..... Elaine 🏡🏡🏡🏘🏚😍
Hi Ruth, just love your podcasts, I have a smile on my face throughout, I have been subscribed for a few months but haven’t commented before. I’m a ‘Glasgow Girl’ living in Australia, not so young anymore I have always been into crafting of all kinds it is my escape into my world where there is no Trouble or stress he he. I came out to Australia to visit my sister who had emigrated and never went home, love it in Australia but still miss Scotland a lot. Love to listen to your Irish lilt 😀. Keep on rambling love it all 🥰 And I’m off to cast on the mindful shawl, love that too 🤩
Oh Ruth… it didn’t take much convincing to rush off and buy the mindfulness shawl pattern… I bought the perfect skein of merino/silk a few weeks ago thinking it was sock yarn….so I was looking for a nice easy knit…perfect… thank you 🥰
The mindfulness shawls are beautiful! I think for summer I would like to find a cotton blend yarns. I am going to look into it. Thanks for showing us all your lovely work.
If you go into settings on your Ravelry messages, you can have your Ravelry message forwarded to your e-mail. I don’t go onto Ravelry on a regular basis so I find this helpful. Your mother’s cardigan looks terrific. . It’s so nice that she feels free to be so specific in her request Deb in Florida
Hello Ruth I love your Podcast the shawls are all so beautiful I would be making one in every color. I am going to have to find that pattern. The cardigan your working on is so pretty it's a lovely pattern. I am also a Christian and love the Lord. I'm trying to find mindless knit projects to work on I'm going to be starting chemotherapy and it takes 4 hours for each treatment so if you know of any and can send me the link I would appreciate it.Thank you so much. Have a blessed week! 🙏🏻🌺🙏🏻💗🙏🏻🌺🙏🏻💗
Yes until I cast on a 100% cotton one and went down to a 3.5 mm. Just see which you like best. You only need to knit a bit before you know whether you like it or not.
Hi Ruth! My name is Ruth and I also Love to knit. Lol I found you through Mel of Cozy Cardigans and Megha from Skeins of Dreams. I’m glad I did! You are so much fun, so much like me ( I have short silver white hair that I prefer to call my halo given from above but sometimes I think it landed on the wrong person..lol) and have an infectious personality. My 90 year old Mom asked for a cardigan as well and I love both cardis you made. Which of the two did you find more enjoyable to knit, the blue one for your mom or the test one you knit for Vert & Rose? I saw at Megha knit that one as well. Im wondering if the Midnight cardigan uses too small of needles than I’d like to use…(well because I’m lazy and I’d like to see it finished much quicker lol) what size needles does the Isa sweater use? . I love yarn choices. Diggle dk rust napp looks great. I think the warmth of that yarn would be great. It’s beautiful..you knit wonderful work. My gosh you do beautiful work. Thanks for brightening up my day !!!!
Thanks for your fantastic message. I loved knitting the Night out cardigan despite the small needles as the silk yarn was so nice. The Iza cardigan is on 4.5mm needles. Thanks for tuning in.
I am new to knitting and the knitting world. My heart ached when you talked about how some people believe that religion (core beliefs) has no place in knitting and then make comments about it, if it is mentioned. I was under the impression the knitting community was a safe place where ALL kinds of diversity is welcome. To me, that would include personal and religious values and beliefs (if you want to or happen to add something about them). Even if some do not share the same beliefs, values etc., aren’t we more rich as a people when we can be inclusive of everyone? We can honor and appreciate people who do not share our same beliefs. I personally feel there is so much value in being exposed to and learn about people who have the courage to share their personal beliefs, culture etc. Isn’t that what the knitting community is about? Maybe, I was so wrong. Being individual whether creating a pattern or choosing colors (which, in my opinion should including cultures, different places in the world we live, age, race, sex, religion and our personal identity. etc, because these things influence and make who we are) - don’t we wish to show our personal creativity (something that may be different than anyone else). Shouldn’t we include anyone who wishes to share their love of knitting and their love and the things that make them happy? Without exposure, who are we? In such a rich diverse culture of people from all around the world, religion is a fundamental and living part of many individuals. For the record, I am not suggesting that the knitting community become a place to do religious missionary work exclusively, but being excited and living in so many different cultures of religion can make this community a safe place to say and do what you feel is right - obviously, in a kind and generous way. Kindness, tolerance, love and the golden rule should be and continue to be the foundation in the knitting community, IMHO. We, as knitters, have a unique opportunity to create a community of support and love, which can be so much different than the salty and negative communities that we see everywhere else. Thank you for bringing this up and sharing your own beliefs. I am also grateful for your experience and excitement you bring to knitting - I just found you today. I definitely, will be a long time subscriber. Hugs.
She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future. Proverbs 31:25 Happy Mother's Day Ruth and to all the Moms.

Oh wow you have quite the project to do. I think I may be one and done.
I heard of your podcast from podcaster, Selma Knits. I really enjoyed you and all your lovely projects. I’m a fan already! Looking forward to next time. Thanks, Terry from Knutsford, near Kamloops, BC, Canada 🇨🇦

How many fun versions of mindfulness shawl!
Always considering my words for wittiness- especially when someone has negative thoughts about religion. I agree that the important thing is to know Christ!
Thanks.

Not quite, not quite as Glaswegian as when I arrived, I married an Englishman so had to tone it down 😂
Oh Ruth… it didn’t take much convincing to rush off and buy the mindfulness shawl pattern… I bought the perfect skein of merino/silk a few weeks ago thinking it was sock yarn….so I was looking for a nice easy knit…perfect… thank you 🥰
Hope you enjoy knitting them as much as I do x
Hi Ruth I enjoy your podcast and your sharing of your faith. Another wonderful podcast is Faith and Knitting with Rhonda. Might check it out.
Yes I watch Rhonda. X
The mindfulness shawls are beautiful! I think for summer I would like to find a cotton blend yarns. I am going to look into it. Thanks for showing us all your lovely work.
I may have a cotton skein up next x
If you go into settings on your Ravelry messages, you can have your Ravelry message forwarded to your e-mail. I don’t go onto Ravelry on a regular basis so I find this helpful. Your mother’s cardigan looks terrific. . It’s so nice that she feels free to be so specific in her request Deb in Florida
Thanks so much. I will definitely do that. Thanks for the tip x
Yes be careful with those knit pro symphony, I used a 2.75 and one of the needles broke, anything from 4mm are great though. Love your podcasts x
Thanks. I am being careful but definitely prefer circular needles x
The Mindfulness shawl would be ideal. Socks are always a good fall back too or hats. After the cast on the Musselburgh hat is mindless.
Greetings from Miami!
Hello x
Hi Ruth I love your podcast the mindfulness shawl I know you said that you went up a needle size ton4.5mm is that for the fingering weight too 😀
Yes until I cast on a 100% cotton one and went down to a 3.5 mm.
Could you mention the shade of the Regina silk 4 ply you bought might have missed that bit. Love your podcasts
It is shade 056
Hugs.
I hope my podcast is a safe non judgemental place for everyone no matter what. Thanks so much for you message x
