I’m 47 years old and focused my alcohol consumption around dark beers. My dad gave me a bottle of Woodford reserve for Christmas and it’s the first Kentucky bourbon I drank straight. It’s been a great gateway whiskey getting me into the bourbon world and now I’m branching out to other brands. My only mistake is not starting my journey sooner. Thanks for making this video and it was awesome you dedicated it to your friend!
Sorry to hear about your friend, Woodford was one of my first "real adult whiskeys". Friend of mine and I had BBQ, Smoked ribs and Brisket.. anyway, we had a pour of Woodford, and it turned the meal alive... amazing.....
Very sorry for your loss. Your tribute and remembrance of your friend is really something special. Cheers to remembering those before us and to creating more memories with those still with us.
Harder to watch than I thought it would be, but as always great job. Aaron will be deeply missed, but rest assured he will never leave our hearts. Woodford will always have a place in my small collection and I look forward to sharing a glass with you and telling funny Aaron stories.
Woodford is my regular drinking bourbon, I love it... if I have an extra rough day at work and a couple beers ain't gunna do it lol. It goes down so smooth, also my fav for cocktails... my fav being the boulevardier...it just works. A lot of people have been telling me to try double oaked. That's next on my list of bottle to buy (got a small bar cart (3 shelves) - not a huge collection. Usually always have Woodford and Makers 46... then Redbreast 12 year and Jameson (my best friend loves jameson so I always keep a bottle) ... and then the 5th bottle is always whatever else I'm trying. Right now working on a bottle of Blanton's that I got for christmas from a friend. Good stuff.
I did a video with Masterson's 10 year rye and the Boulevardier cocktail. The Double Oaked is good. If you can find a store pick of it I'd suggest that over the standard release. Cheers and happy new year!
Aaron would have appreciated this tribute, then he would have put his feet up, laughed all night as you put the whole bottle down with jokes and stories that bring you to tears.❤
Sorry for your loss Peter. May God rest his soul in peace. My Bourbon journey started with Woodford Reserve. I enjoy the Double Oaked expression to this day. 🥃
Great video..... well-paced, all the key information, just right! Liked the editing style too, with the voiceover and video overlays. I know of Woodford Reserve, and have had it at some bars, but was considering buying a bottle and decided to do some research. That's how I stumbled upon your video and your channel. Have watched other whiskey reviews in the past, oftentimes getting bored; but this one is perfect. You've got yourself a subscriber!
Wow great tribute. This is one of my top 5. I like the Double Oaked even better. I already got my backups of each. Both are "Sip -it's" for sure. I'll have a pour of each this evening and give Erin a salute! Good show.
Thank you. It's amazing how a friend's passing can change your point of view. It just goes to show you that whiskey is not all about flavor. It's also about experiences as well.
Just got done with a couple ounces of chilled Woodford Double Oaked in a frozen, thick bottomed glass, so it's ice cold, but no ice. Then I came across your video. Cheers to your buddy Aaron. Rest easy brother!
Brown foreman is a buy! Woodford, Jack Daniel’s, and Old forester are powerhouses that is always available ❤. Like I can actually find this! Also shout out to your friend, I’ll be sure to pour one for the homie who is no longer with us. 😢
You can do what you want, but swirling evaporates the ethanol faster. It's better to roll the glass. Swirling is a hard habit to break. I'm trying but it's hard to remember. Cheers!
In my opinion diluting a Woodford's a tiny bit by letting the ice sit opens it up and instead of making it less complicated brings out some different sugar tastes. It's granular sugar versus maple sugary out of the bottle but more vanilla sugary with water. I'm a total noob Don't listen to me.
You get what you get. Noob or not. Thanks for sharing. I will look for those notes next time I drop a rock into my glass. Adding ice pulls more oak out for me. Cheers!

Im on a very similar journey. Started mine May of this year.
Sorry to hear about your friend, Woodford was one of my first "real adult whiskeys". Friend of mine and I had BBQ, Smoked ribs and Brisket.. anyway, we had a pour of Woodford, and it turned the meal alive... amazing.....
Like I mentioned in the video I can see why a lot of people like it. It's very approachable. Cheers!

Well said and thank you.
What a nice tribute to Aaron, Peter. He was a great friend and will be missed tremendously!
He certainly will.
RIP to your childhood friend Peter, love and strength to you mate. Lovely to honour him by reviewing his favourite whisky today.
Much appreciated. Thank you.
Sorry for your loss. Nice idea turning the review into a tribute.
Thanks Kevin.
So sorry for your loss Peter. This was a beautiful tribute.
Thanks. This one is going to hurt for a long time. Almost 40 years of memories and friendship. Gone in a snap. Such a surreal feeling.

Just about 40 years of stories. Looking forward to it!
I instantly had a lump in my throat. Nice job Peter.

I agree.
I actually had my second Woodford reserve Malt Whiskey and coke of the day in my glass as this video popped up in my queue. A Toast to Aaron.
One year ago since his passing. Cheers!
I’m sorry for your loss. I hope all is well and that each day gets a little easier. 😢
Much appreciated.
Sorry to hear of your friend, condolences RIP. Good review and WR is a solid staple for every bar and very affordable at home and in most bars.
Thank you. WR is a solid option. In some way I was a little surprised. Pleasantly surprised.
Sorry for your loss Peter. May God rest his soul in peace.
My Bourbon journey started with Woodford Reserve. I enjoy the Double Oaked expression to this day. 🥃
Thanks. I have 3 bottles of WR and each offers a slightly different experience and they are all good. My friend will be missed tremendously. Cheers!

what whisky would you say is "overly sweet", kinda wanna give it a try, especially for the upcoming holiday season
If you are looking for sweet, I'd say Old Forester 1920 and or 1910. They have a sweet banana fosters, vanilla ice cream kind of profile

Sorry for your loss. Your buddy looked like he was a nice guy. Solid review on the Woodford. All the best.
Thanks. He was a great guy. Not sure what's going on in the month of January, but I also lost my mother this past January as well. Cheers!
Dang Pedro….
That was absolutely perfect.
Thank you for doing that.
🥰
RIP “Gurn Blandstine”
Definitely something that needed to be done. Thank you Robert.
Very sorry for your loss 🥃
Thank you.
Beautiful salute. I’m drinking Woodford Reserve right now and honoring your friend after viewing.
Thank you. It's amazing how a friend's passing can change your point of view. It just goes to show you that whiskey is not all about flavor. It's also about experiences as well.

It’s my first time watching your video and I am hooked. Very nice audio and mic.
Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. I hope you continue to enjoy the channel. Cheers!
You handled that very well. Good job.
Thank you.

Such a nice video. Thank you
Thanks
I'm sorry for your loss. In tribute to your friend I'm drinking this Woddford Reserve 45.2 Alc/ volume 90.4
Thanks! His birthday is today so I appreciate it. Cheers!
That was a wonderful tribute Peter. It put a lump in my throat.
Thanks. 👍
Sorry for the loss of your friend. May he rest in peace.
Thank you. Cheers!
Sorry for your loss. This review is great and a beautiful tribute to your friend
Thanks. I was a tough loss.
Sorry Peter. You're a good friend. Losing someone young is so hard. Great vid
Thank you Freed.
Recién compre mi primer doble oaked, me tomaré el primero en memoria de tu amigo, compartimos el gusto por este bourbon
Gracias aprecio el gesto para mi amigo
Having a sip right now.
To your good friend Aaron, and to your good health🥃
Thank you. Cheers!
Love this tribute. Well done.
Thank you. Cheers!
I like it better than Jack Daniel and nice flavor. High end restaurants like Ruth Chris serve it and charge a lot!
They should not be charging a lot for it, but I guess they can do whatever they want, especially if people buy it.
Here's to your bud 🍹love my Old Fashioned with Woodford Reserve
Thank you. Cheers!
Here's to Aaron... partnered with a Woodford Old Fashioned.
Cheers!
I'm sorry this happened. Also, I enjoyed my 750ml bottle of this bourbon.
Thank you Jay.
Great review of one of my favourite (Canadian spelling) whisky! Sorry to hear about your friend. Nice tribute.
Thank you! Cheers! It was a rough video to shoot, but I got through it.
I thought you were not supposed to swirl the glass when you smelled any bourbon?
You can do what you want, but swirling evaporates the ethanol faster. It's better to roll the glass. Swirling is a hard habit to break. I'm trying but it's hard to remember. Cheers!
@@whiskeyisajourney cheers!
The more bourbon I try, the better woodford was going back to it. Still not the best although it is a good brown and foreman product. Cheers
Agreed. It's a good one to sip on. Cheers!

To me, I actually like my whisky 🥃, bourbon to taste like a snickers bar🤣🤣👊🤦♀️
Chocolate notes in whiskey are fantastic! When I get chocolate and cherry.... I'm sold.
Every man needs a bottle of Woodford Reserve in the house! It’s the solution to all your problems! Hahaha
They are good and a staple on the shelf for sure. Cheers!

Amen brother. Cheers!! 🍻
