You're setting a great example for other girls who would like to do solo travel but feel a bit afraid. Generally the world is a safe place except for a small number of countries. Philippines is a great place for solo travel, locals are always helpful and respectful. Here in Bohol we see lots of girls traveling in small groups, particularly from China, step out and see what Asia has to offer, very quickly you will be addicted to Asia travel!

I like how you just go with the flow and your positivity, my father is from Romblon and I miss being there, enjoy Philippines, take care, get good quality sleep before you venture out and about and be safe.
I remember the dogs, strays and owned, everywhere! Never any angry or dangerous ones, they would mostly be friendly and approach you, and oddly they didn't beg much for food, they just hung around, played, slept and were virtually your pet until they just moved on. It's like the islands have communal pets who are able to scavenge well enough to survive. The ones with collars are usually owned or claimed, which means a steady meal :) I love seeing them!

Hi! I'm a fellow Canadian from Montreal and my mom is from Tablas (Odiongan) and my cousin is actually the mayor of the town. Places i recommend to visit, Romblon University, Fish Sanctuary (in Looc), Bonbon beach (in Romblon), and beach at Binocut Beach Resort (Ferrol) is very nice; however, Footprints Beach resort is very nice as well (Owen, the owner, is very friendly). Enjoy your stay!
