I live in Switzerland and I work with a chechnyan young man. I can only say he is incredibly respectful and humble, always ready to help, and i have never heard him talking bad about anyone or anything. He is the best in my team. I have a massive respect for chechnyas. I don't share their costume and traditions, but I do certainly respect them.

I love Chechen people. I met a family who bought the house next to us in Ohio, USA. They will literally gift you anything in their home. They have the best furniture and clothes and traditions and food. They are the nicest people and that worries me because here in America ppl take advantage of generous people. The man owns his own construction company and has so many kids and is so humble.

The only connection I knew was Chechnian war, ridiculously!
While the practices seem sharply at odds with the freedoms I am familiar; the underlying principles in this society are a curious mix that would normally be seen in a closed community, like the Amish, Mormons, or even some extreme fundamentalist Jewish sectors. There feels little if any covetousness, of more liberal societies. In Chechnia, people live alongside other communities, it would appear, whilst sheltering their own. There is a deep honesty revealed here, though it goes so far, as to raise concerns about what exactly happens, when marital difficulties, do arise?
      Nonetheless, beautiful!

The reason that the bride's relatives aren't at the wedding actually stems from the old tradition where the groom's family would come pick up the bride at her home and bring her to their home. From that day on she 'belongs' to the family of her husband. And the bride's family would be sad that she left, which is why they weren't in a celebratory mood, since they 'lost' a daughter. So they would stay home and cry. Whereas the groom's family would be very happy because they just got their 'new daughter'. So they would throw a party and celebrate.

Eli you were very kind at the start of the video when asking the gentleman if these questions you found in the tour book were accurate. As a female you had to be biting your tongue when 50% of the population is still subjugated like modern slaves. The women cannot speak up as they would be ostracized or killed if they speak against their state imposed religion. This is NOT tradition it is modern slavery in a different form. So strange as Islam was once a great religion 800-1200 a.d. and dominated science as Christian Europe burned non-believers at the stake. In 1250 a.d. when Islam started killing scientists and burning books (like Christianity did earlier) and turned inward to their religion they have been on a downward path for over 700 years. Name one thing Islam has given the world in the last 700 years and i will sit here and listen...i feel so sorry for the women and sure the men are very happy.

@@GwynBleys push Iran? What? The Iranians had heavy influence in that region before Jesus Christ was even born. Your Slavic ancestors were dwelling in swamps in central Europe at that time alongside the Germans. The Russians invaded Chechnya, the Chechens and other northern Caucasians didn't want to be part of Russia. The Circassians had a genocide committed against them by the Russians for resisting occupation. The Chechens also resisted, the Russians had tried destroying the Chechens multiple times but they have never succeeded. Hell, the Chechens have humiliated the Russians during the 90s and 2000s. This is not Russo phobia, this is the truth.
